I should just call this, «Luxe beds online.»
After looking at countless daybeds, and not being pleased with either the design of the piece (all looked either too massive, or too feminine), we found The Campaign Bed online. I was skeptical about making such a major purchase online, so I used the chat feature on their website, which was promptly answered by Steve W. In addition, I also called him on the phone. Using the chat feature while on the phone afforded me the chance to send him a photo of the room I was trying to fill as we spoke. He was a lot of fun to talk with, and answered every question I had, even providing the measurements of the bed. When I asked him the difference between The Campaign Bed and other daybeds out there, and he knew his product. «Well, our beds are made from wrought iron, other beds are made of hollow tube aluminum,» is what he led off with before going into more details! I was able to show him the small room in the adobe home with the brick floor to ensure it wouldn’t be too big. It looks perfect, like it’s been here since the 1900’s.
Overall, it was a disarmingly easy purchase, given that I spent a lot of money on this and the trundle bed. I also purchased 2 Chelsea mattresses. (One for the campaign bed, one for the trundle).
The shipment came in several HUGE (bigger than me) and heavy boxes. The DHL delivery can only push the delivery through the first door threshold. So prepare yourself by clearing out a huge area in the living to accept, and then take apart the boxes and dispose of the cardboard properly. You’ll need two people to unpack, dispose of, assemble, and move the beds.
These are heavy, well made beds, that aren’t «temporary» furnishings. This is something that will probably outlast the house, so it’s not a purchase for someone who changes out furnishings like shoes. It was easy to put together, easier still after we watched the YouTube video!
I purchased the Chelsea mattresses at the same time –not that I couldn’t get them here, but it saved me the hassle of having to go out and make separate purchases. They are made more comfortable by laying a gel mattress pad on top of them because they are a bit firm.
What I liked about Charles P. Rogers was having the tech tools that helped facilitate the purchase (website, chat feature, phone, ability to upload photos), quality of the product, the design of the product, and the ease of assembly. Would definitely purchase from them again.

We needed to buy a bed for our son and wanted to find a mattress that was made with more natural materials. I researched and was pleased to find that there was a location right near our house. We visited the small showroom tired all the mattresses and picked one that worked for us. It was very easy. The salesman was friendly but bit pushy. The mattress was available and ready to be delivered the following week. Most importantly it is comfortable and very well made. We’ve had it for a few months now and we are very happy with the purchase.

We recently ordered the solide bed, and it came in the mail a few days ago However, after setting up the entire frame, we realized that the platforms were missing. Consequently, we had to move the frame out of the bedroom and our old bed back in.
I called the following morning to ask about the platforms, and was informed that they would be arriving in a separate shipment. Of course, this would have been nice to have known before we set up the entire frame.
Then, we realized that the platforms didn’t fit. They overlapped onto the wooden railing. I called again, and it turns out that we received the wrong-​sized platform pieces for our bed. AND they scratched the wood where they overlapped onto it! So now we have to move the solide frame out again and the old bed back in until the new platforms come… which won’t be for another week, because they were not sent as a rushed shipment. I also asked in an e-​mail if they could please pick up the old platforms (we don’t have much room), and they basically ignored my question, saying that they didn’t need them back.
So moral of the story… make sure everything is mailed to you before you set it up (the solide bed came in three different boxes, two different shipments, we only received ONE tracking number)…and make sure everything fits together before you invest a whole afternoon setting it up.
Overall, this has been a very stressful experience. And very disappointing as well, since I read so many positive reviews and did hours of research before buying this bed.

During our visit to NYC, we stopped by Charles P Rogers showroom to finalize the selection of a mattress. (and hoped to purchase a mattress at their Rutherford location during the week)
We were greeted by Tina. She listened to what we were looking for and upon me asking what other options we had to compare against the St Regis Latex, she pointed out the Estate 5000 which was also firm and has a pillow top. We decided not to wait and purchased the mattress at this location. Even though it was more expensive than the St Regis Latex there is no comparison. This mattress has so far exceeded our expectations. Thanks Tina.
Also a few weeks prior to visiting the NYC showroom we stopped by the East Rutherford showroom and the attention and customer service were lacking (in comparison to the NYC location.) There appears to be only 1 person at this location and if there are a few people in the showroom then you must wait your turn which is limited.
BTW, the delivery guys were great. They were considerate and wore plastic «booties» because we had carpeting in the bedroom. They also wrapped the mattress in the encasement that we purchased.

Delivery was fantastic, but the bed, oh my! Cannot believe they don’t have more shops elsewhere, as I’m never going back to big store brands, ever.

Nice stuff in here, but the thing that stuck out to me is that, unlike many furniture and mattress stores, the sales persons were not pushy at all. In fact, they dissuaded me from unnecessarily buying something.

My husband and I love the Charles P. Rogers Nano II mattress we bought this year! It is so comfortable, yet firm – no matter what position one is in. We both sleep considerably better since getting this mattress.

I’m a 2 time customer; purchased a black iron bed more than 10 years ago. When it came time to purchase a mattress I decided to go back since I loved my bed’s quality. I got the same salesman which says something about this firm!!! I ordered the Powercore Estate 5000 Firm Queen (60″) Mattress W/​Foundation. The delivery was smooth and the gentlemen were obvious experts at their craft. No issues removing my old mattress and box spring from my upstairs bedroom and no problems bringing up my new set up my narrow staircase-​installation went fine also. The bed is WONDERFUL, and I’m sleeping so much better… Glad I went back here…

The delivery was well done, courteous, and on time. We bought the tiger mahogany Hampton king bed with white leather headboard and the PowerCore 7000. My husband and I assembled the bed. We were pleasantly surprised, every screw, washer and parts were all included. It took a few hours, the bed is well made, solid, and every part fit together perfectly. It looks beautiful. Very happy with our experience but we have not slept on the bed, waiting for the new carpet’s off gassing to dissipate. No off gassing from the bed/​mattress though. I spent three months researching bed construction and mattresses, including reading the Old Bed Guy blog. I concluded this was the best available for the money. My husband who was initially sceptical of buying online, sight unseen, is sold! My only issue was I wished the bed was a available in expresso without an extra $ 250.

I ordered a Madera platform bed in tiger mahogany, and the wood is beautiful and very sturdy. The platform itself is solid (four large pieces of wood), not slats. The delivery people assembled it, which was great. There are felt pads on the bottom of each leg that allow you to easily slide the bed around, if needed. This platform bed (which has no headboard) has a very small footprint, which is excellent for a small apartment where every inch counts. I thought the price was reasonable, considering the quality of the wood and that the delivery people assembled it.

We purchased the Estate 7000 Extra Comfort King Mattress and Madera King Platform Bed after reading a good review in Consumer Report magazine. Since I hate shopping, I just ordered the bed on blind faith! Well, we absolutely love the mattress — it is firm yet wildly comfortable. I used to have to use pillows around my body to get comfortable and now I just lie flat and it feels perfect. With our 16-​year-​old mattress, my husband had terrible back pain when he first woke up and that problem has disappeared. Our old mattress seemed fine but I didn’t know what I was missing.
We got the platform bed instead of the standard box spring and metal frame since it costed the same. I love the look of the platform and it wasn’t too horrible putting it together.
The only thing I DID NOT LIKE was that they didn’t take our old mattress and box spring. That ended up being a giant pain in the butt to get rid of in our city. If they offered that service, like most mattress companies do, I would have given a perfect score.
PS Our king-​sized mattress is EXTREMELY HEAVY so if it has to go up a few flights of stairs or get moved frequently, forget it.

This review is based on a mattress itself and bed frame I bought last year for their presidents day sale. I had done MASSIVE research, hours everyday for over a month. All of my research led me to Charles P. Rogers. Again, I went to sleepy’s, Sears, Casper, tempurpedic etc. After one full year of use I can still easily say I LOVE my bed. It is incredibly comfortable and feels like it is made of very high quality material. It is so wonderfully supportive and does (I know the tagline) feels like a cloud! I purchased the hybrid bed, part spring part memory foam (softest version). I will say that, after reading some of the negative reviews on here regarding customer service… that I can’t comment on that. I didn’t have any issues with customer service. Additionally I read a review that said the mattress they purchased was too firm and not comfortable. Living here in Manhattan I was lucky enough to be able to go to the showroom and try out the mattress for myself. I do remember they were trying to sell me their latex high end mattress. For my subjective taste, If i had ordered that mattress I would say it would be too firm for me. But that is my preference: I have broad shoulders and hips and needed something with a little bit more give, yet supportive. the hybrid mattress is heaven for me. In all seriousness, every night I lay down I still mention how much I love this bed! But it is tough for people ordering from around the country without being able to try the bed out… it’s hard to say which will be the right fit for you. However, because a mattress is firm shouldn’t warrant a negative review.
All in all, the company DOES offer very high quality fantastic mattresses. In my opinion, much better than other competitors on the market. The only thing I will say which I’m not sure can be considered a negative but, the mattress is VERY heavy. In the case that I move, I will need a few good people to carry the thing out of my place!

Don’t do it. Don’t buy into the marketing, the copy, the durability, the steel etc. any of it. The salesman said this would be appropriate for side and back sleepers and I said I preferred the side. He said this mattress would be fine and I am in epic, epic pain (for the record I’m a 5’3″ fit early 30s woman; take regular ballet classes etc. fit/​in-​shape etc.). I know it’s this mattress because I have slept elsewhere since I got it and did not have these problems.
My shoulders, hips, neck, and sitz bones are all in major pain. I have been hospitalized before, in bed for 5 days straight, and did not have the pain I have after sleeping in this every night. I housesat for a friend recently, sleeping on her bed, and had NO issues. IT’s definitely the CPR bed and now I’m fugging stuck with it.
You can get a perfectly good mattress that costs ¹⁄₃ of what these do and it will last a long time.
I had a hell of a time even GETTING my mattress because I live in Brooklyn, and they don’t deliver there on Saturdays except once a month. But I finally got it, two months after purchasing it, and now I am in epic pain.
I’ve been on it for a month and I have taken to sleeping on our 1960s naugahyde couch because it is more comfortable than the latex gel/​memory foam mattress I bought for over $ 1,000.
I knew they did not have a «return» policy as such but I figured I could «exchange» it but this was the only mattress from them that I wanted (the others were just as firm but poofier on the top, not what I want) so now I don’t know what to do. Just don’t do it.

Do not order from this company, just tried leaving a negative review multiple times, but somehow every time I tried to do so I keep getting a message that my submission was being validated. In short, one can’t leave a negative review on their site.
We order the Estate 7000 Extra Comfort, it’s incredibly stiff. Nothing comfortable about it. I ordered the mattress based on it being mentioned in Consumer Reports. If you must order from them, you must try the mattress first.

Based on the negative reviews, I have to admit I was hesitant purchasing my mattress and platform bed here. I read the quality of the platform beds and the mattresses, and it received very good reviews online as well as from our good friends who purchased from here. I have compared the products to others as well and decided to take my chance. All I can say to prospective buyers is just check everything is delivered and no parts are missing and pray that the product is not defective otherwise, I would hate to go through what the other reviewers have gone through in terms of getting a refund/​return, etc. Steven Wilson was my sales rep and he was nice and helpful to me. I already did my research of the product (s) so he didn’t have to explain too much to me plus I liked what I saw in the showroom. Granted they do not give you a price reduction if there was a change in price once the product ships out, all they gave me is a credit towards bed linens.
I could also see why there are a lot of negative reviews based on their customer service, not sure if this kind of attitude stems from management and trickles on down to the staff or is this a smug, NY attitude, I am not sure, but don’t expect any kind of warmth coming through from the other people in the showroom and the interaction among staff did not deem any kind of friendly rapport. Just ask them a question, they will give you an answer but don’t expect any kind of follow up or follow through. I had to follow up with Steven who was gracious enough to let me know when the delivery will be so be prepared in case you do not get any kind of phone calls or emails, it sounds like they get very busy.
The delivery took about 3 –3.5 weeks, past the two weeks that was quoted to me and way past the hours they gave me so I had taken the whole day off only for the men to arrive at night but it was raining and the traffic was terrible so I felt sorry for the delivery guys. One good thing we noticed is that the mattress is packaged and wrapped very well as well as the platform bed pieces that came in boxes. One of the boxes was torn so I took a photo of it and one piece of the wooden leg looked like there was a hairline scratch but it didn’t appear to affect its durablity so I left it alone. Whoever loaded it on the truck was not organized as boxes were not in any kind of order so my husband made sure we had everything before they left.
Conclusion: We are very happy with our purchases. We love our bed and the mattress. I would probably purchase from them again if I need to based on the quality, not on the friendly customer service, depending on who is helping you. All in all, customers base their decision on their buying experience so going forward just be aware and be prepared based on the reviews online.

WORST RETURN/​REFUND EXPERIENCE EVER!
I saw an add in the back of Dwell magazine and checked out their website. I ended up ordering the Alana platform bed. They were having a black Friday sale, so the price was right. The bed came in 3 different shipments through fed ex. After receiving the second package, I decided to sneak a peek at the wood. I ordered the tiger mahogany with the hopes that it would match my existing furniture. The wood color was so drastically different than how it is displayed online. Online it has much more of the orange rust color. The bed I received the color was a dark, dark cherry red color. It was not at all how it was displayed.
I called in to return the bed. The person I spoke with said they couldn’t help me and that the sales person I ordered with would need to be the person to handle my return. I was promised a call back. No one ever called me so I called back the next day. I ran through my story and why I wanted to return my bed, the guy, Stephen I believe his name was, told me I needed to send them a photo of the wood. I told him I was at work but that didn’t really make any sense because regardless of what their opinion of the photo I sent, I still wanted a refund. He argued with me and told me that customer service was going to require it and I had to do it anyway. Really? I then told him, look, I have no problem calling my credit card company and have them issue a charge back. That got him all sorts of bothered «Ma’am, we are going to get this taken care of!» But of course he couldn’t help me, I needed to wait for Linda. Finally after calling 3 times in one day, I was able to get a hold of Linda, my salesperson. She argued with me about the color and how red it looks online and that computer screens will make the color vary. I told her, «look, lets agree to disagree, I don’t care what you think it looks like, I want a REFUND!» She went on to say that they have a great return policy and she would process it. 7 days is hardly a great return policy. Linda then went on to ask what I was going to do and where I was going to be purchasing my bed from. I refused to tell her and sad it was from someplace local. She just wanted an excuse to tell me I was making the wrong decision. I wasn’t going to give her the satisfaction. She said she filed the paperwork and once I got the final package, I needed to call back. I called back once the last portion of the bed was delivered and I was told the paperwork needed to go to the supervisors desk and I would be called back. No call. I called again today and I spoke with Lauren. I was on hold for 20 minutes. Lauren said, «Oh I was trying to get Linda on the phone but she is on another call, so I can help you.» REALLY?!! You could have helped me to begin with? Instead you had me on hold for 20 minutes? I was on hold another 10 minutes. «Oh the shipping department isn’t answering.» Finally, I got a return phone call from Lauren today and Fed Ex is picking up this Friday, the 16^th. Wait, Friday? Wednesday is the 16^th so which is it? «Oh, I thought today was Wednesday for some reason» I don’t even trust that there will be a pick up. She told me they had emailed me a «E-​Tag» never received it. She said she would resend it and then finally she her story was that she gave Fed Ex the labels and they would put them on the packages themselves when they picked up. Again, the left friggin hand has no idea what the right one is doing. Every person I have spoken with has either been no help at all, seemingly numb as a doornail, argumentative or just plain condescending.
This entire experience of «oh, this person has to help you because I can’t» or, «I can’t get a hold of this person and the supervisor needs to approve your paperwork» and the constant promise of a call back just really made it seem like there were delaying so I could be denied a refund or would eventually give up. SHADY!
Finally the bed was picked up but once it was received, it sat in their warehouse for a week before I got my refund. And wouldn’t you know, I had to call to get them to check on the receipt of the bed and had to call again to get them to process the refund.
Never, will I ever order through them again. Ever. And I would strongly advise against you doing so as well.
I’m surprised they are still in business…

This review is regarding customer service and delivery only. Took over a month to get my mattress. They use some bottom barrel delivery company that is completely unreliable. They rescheduled delivery on me multiple times. When I call to complain to both Charles p rogers and the delivery company, they basically had the same response… nothing we can do, just deal with it…
Their mattress is supposedly amazing but I’d rather go somewhere else to avoid all these problems in the future. Just not worth it.

Update 2÷5÷16:
Brian B. from Charles P. Rogers contacted me regarding the damage on my hallway on ⁸⁄₂₀₁₅. The company agreed to pay for the paint job by a local painter in the Boston area. The company was even nice enough to replace a defective piece in my bed frame and install the replacement for me. It took a while to get a painter out to my condo but Brian ensured that the job was done. Even though the delivery company left a sour taste in my mouth, Charles P. Rogers did the best that they could to satisfy their customer. Changing the rating to 4 stars.

I regret our Charles P. Rogers purchase. Our hallway is severely damaged from delivery. Metro Last Mile, the delivery service, cracked and chipped the plaster from our walls, scraped a doorframe, and marked up our railings.
I called Metro Last Mile the day this happened and emailed photographs of the damage. I was instructed to get a painting quote, and Simon Moon at Metro Last Mile said he would cover repairs. Now that I have a painting quote, Simon Moon refuses to pay. He is denying his employees damaged our hall. Linda from Charles P. Rogers customer service offered to follow up with Metro Last Mile. It’s been 4 business days and we haven’t heard from her.
We do like the bed, but it wasn’t worth it. The damage incurred is over the price of the item.
If you’re going to order, consider finding a more established company with a delivery service that’s insured.

I ordered a beautiful platform bed from this company. I was able to get a great discount during mother’s day weekend. We love the bed. We had no issues with delivery. The guys even brought it upstairs for me which was great.
The only issue I had was with their customer service. I would give them 5 stars if they tweaked some stuff.
ISSUE #1: When I made the order, I received an email confirmation. However, I also received an email saying that they charged me 20%. I wasn’t sure why. Maybe that’s posted on their website somewhere but I didn’t see it. So I emailed them to ask why and they emailed right back to let me know they hold a 20% deposit. Good to know. An explanation would be good to have somewhere, like in the email confirmation.
ISSUE #2: I made the order on May 11. In the email confirmation, it said «Anticipated Ship Date — May 31». On June 1, I had not received any further information. I emailed customer service to ask for any updates. I received an email the following day stating «Shipping Method — METRO LAST MILE DROP OFF. Anticipated ship date: out of production in 1 wk ships shortly after.» That really wasn’t clear to me, but I interpreted it as it will take another week to get to the warehouse? IDK. I also received an email confirmation that they charged the rest of the fee.
I emailed the company back and asked if I would receive more information on when the bed will actually be delivered. Customer service promptly responded saying «While the order is out in transit via Metro Last Mile, there will be a tracking # to track your order. I will follow up with you with the tracking information & invoice via email.» I never received any such information.
ISSUE #3: On June 10, I emailed the company to find out the status of my order. I did not receive a response. Somewhere in between June 10 and 14, I called the company to follow up. They told me my bed had been shipped and someone would be calling me next week to schedule delivery.
On June 14, something told me to check my spam folder. I found an email from Metro Last Mile Transport sent on June 9, asking me to confirm delivery for June 11…
I emailed Metro Last Mile Transport back and said «Sorry, this was in my spam folder. Can we reschedule.» I called them the next day and they said they would send another email to schedule delivery for June 18. Bed was delivered June 18.
MAIN POINT: Customer service needs to get their ducks in a row. If it had been communicated that the delivery company would contact me by email (be on the look out for email from Metro Last Mile Transport) then that’s what I would be looking for, not a «phone call.»
Nevertheless, everything worked out and we have our beautiful bed. It was just kind of a pain going back and forth unnecessarily. Charles P. Rogers can be a great company if they fix some of this stuff.

Brought my iron sleigh bed here a little over 10 years ago. Every time I move I need new parts to put my bed together. Because I misplace the screws and whatnot.
Staff always puts up with me with a smile. Never charge me for the kit and really at this point they should.
I was recently going to buy sometimes new & different. like maybe a platform bed.
All my friends said that would be ridiculous because my bed is an heirloom.
