For some people working with documents is just a boring way of making money. For me, paperwork is a method of self-expression and self-development. For example, do you think that translating a document is just that — replacing the words with their equivalent in another language? Not really. Something as seemingly simple as a standard Birth Certificate can be an adventure in learning, especially when a person was born in a small, not well-known locality. To properly translate geographical locations and the names of various government offices where the documents were issued, it takes research, and I often get carried away discovering many interesting and cool things about some small faraway places. And what do I mean by self-expression? Working on documents is a perfect outlet for my inner perfectionist. I must make sure that my work is flawless before I hand it over to you. That includes orthography, the use of proper and applicable terminology beautiful formatting, and presentation.
