We enjoyed the initial mattress unboxing experience almost 2 years ago, and have spent thousands of hours sleeping on our Casper. ¹¹⁄₁₀ would sleep again, every night. After seeing many subway and Facebook ads for this new «start-​up» I thought I would check them out downtown.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a super friendly staff that offered me water or tea upon arrival. Once inside they kindly took my coat and bag so I didn’t have to worry about them while trying the bed.
With a leap of faith I plopped down onto a queen sized bed and was surprised how comfortable it was. The mattress is very different than my current spring pillow top mattress, but I think it will be a great long term option.
With a long warranty and a 100 day return policy it’s worth a shot! Also, if you return the mattress for any reason, it is donated to a local charity or shelter (how cool!)

I have had the mattress for one night and it was exactly what I was looking for. I have intense lower back pain due to years of collegiate sports and for the first time in years I slept through the night without waking once. I felt energized in the morning and honestly could not imagine going back to another mattress. I have a murphy bed so the casper is supported on a large sheet of plywood. I would imagine this would be the best method for using the Casper. Having tested a tempurpedic in the past I knew what to expect from a memory foam mattress. The Casper is phenomenal. I am a side and stomach sleeper and could not find an uncomfortable position. I’m not confident if weight/​mass has anything to do with how well your memory foam mattress adjust to you but I am 6’4″ 215lbs and it sleeps perfectly. I would highly recommend this product to people with back/​hip/​shoulder issues.

If you’re like me, you’ve seen the ads all over the train stations and have been intrigued. I looked up their website and saw the pricing wasn’t bad and in combination with their great marketing, I felt like I really wanted to buy (or at least try) their mattress out.
I set up an appointment and went to their showroom — I initially thought I had the wrong place because it looks residential. When you go upstairs, it ends up really being a giant apartment with multiple sized mattresses around.
The staff asks you a lot of questions regarding what you like, don’t like, questions, etc and go on to tell you how they use high quality material so whatever you complain about isn’t an issue with their mattress. Sounds good! But spend a good 10 – 15 min all over the mattresses like I did and you’ll find some of the same problems that I have with my current memory gel mattress.
When you talk to them again regarding your test experience and what your issues were, suddenly their answers change and you’re told that the problem you have is something that you’ll experience on all memory foam/​gel mattresses.
I eventually found out from a staff member at a different store that if you have the same problem as me (saggy areas on mattress, all you have to do is buy a «bunky board» or plywood sheets at Home Depot to give more support — makes a huge difference.

The first few months on this mattress was a dream. It was perfectly firm and such a pleasure to sleep on. Unfortunately, at 8 months, the mattress turned into a ginormous sinkhole. Seriously, if we lay in one spot long enough, my husband and i sink almost to the bottom. It is now an enormous, gigantic, expensive paperweight.

We actually bought this online after I read so many positive reviews. However, this is becoming the biggest regret as the bed has caused us so many aches and pains. Because we are past the 100 day warranty (it’s only 6 months old), there’s not much we can do about it. My advice is that if you decide to buy a Casper and are at all in doubt whether you like it, return it, because the customer service will suck after your purchase. When I asked the company for a free mattress topper that was mentioned in other reviews, they said it was only used to dissuade folks from returning it. After the expiration date, you will have to pay for it. That sucks. Well, I’d rather have a mattress have a 10 year warranty than a 100 day one. Hmm… what does that say about the quality of your product, Casper? And my suspicion is that they have a lot of returns and are using whatever tactic to minimize their losses.
Side note: there are a lot of positive reviews promoting the $ 50 referral program — clever marketing. What a big disappointment, that you don’t stand by your product after the 100 days. Don’t believe the marketing.

Just got the mattress the other day and I couldn’t be much happier. I’m coming form years slept on a (probably not great quality) spring mattress and this has made a world of difference in my sleep and restfulness. A true life-​changer.

We purchased our king sized Casper in May-​We love it. As a previous memory foam user, this is so much more comfortable for us. We also use a boxspring (not expensive) but high quality bed-​frame.
I am a side and back sleeper and I have never slept so well and don’t wake with back pain. I also would sleep 4 – 5 hours with interrupted sleep. I now sleep like rock with mostly uninterrupted sleep and now can sleep up to 6 hours.
My husband sleeps mostly on his stomach and he also sleeps well. The best part is he is no longer tossing all over.
We referred a relative in NC and they love it as well.
A mattress is a difficult thing to purchase. Laying on a mattress for a few minutes or so can’t truly determine if the mattress will be comfortable for you since you sleep for hours. They showroom staff can answer questions and it can help eliminate some mattresses. Although I didn’t need to use it, there is a guarantee.
I researched and watched numerous videos and read many reviews. The Casper always ended on top. Do your own research.

We went in to check out a Casper mattress — this is the only showroom in Manhattan and it’s located in downtown. Preferably call & make an appointment, but they also take walk-​ins.
The showroom is actually not a showroom — it’s an urbane, hip apartment and every single piece of furniture is gorgeous. For a minute you want to take it all home and may also forget you actually came in to test out a mattress and are not furniture shopping!
The staff is mostly nice — though some of them can be a tad snobby. The 1^st time we went in, we were greeted by really nice, genuine folks. White you wait for your turn to test the mattress, you can grab a drink or a cookie/​scone. The 2^nd time we accompanied a friend who wanted to try out a mattress and the girls came across as a bit fake and didn’t bother to offer us any drinks/​refreshments, though I heard them asking others *shrugs* However, what I like is that they never try to make a hardsell.
As for the mattress itself — we ordered ours and our delivery was delayed by 20 days. Expected delivery date was within 7 days. Casper sent a $ 50 voucher to make up for the delivery… but it was a little annoying not knowing when exactly the mattress would arrive.
The Casper mattress is for back and side sleepers — so if you sleep on your stomach this is not for you. Before this, we were used to a pretty firm memory foam mattress and are still getting accustomed to this one which is on the softer side. So far we’ve used ours for two weeks and have no major complaints. Will update this review again in a few weeks.

I never got to the actual showroom. I went online, placed an order before noon, and my new mattress was sitting with my doorman before 5pm that same day. Amazing.

Unless you’ve been sleeping on a rock, know this — the Casper is firm. Do not expect a microfiber cocoon or a springy, soft feel. It’s quite solid and my back let’s me know that every day I wake up now.
We have had the Casper for two weeks and I’m still waiting for my body to supposedly ‘adjust.’ I know we have 100 days to give this baby a whirl, but, right now I’m slightly disappointed.
We wanted a new bed for almost 9 months now. I kept saying, «Let’s wait until Memorial Day when they have great sales!» So, we did. And we purchased — from Amazon — the same mattress we had but a bigger size. (From full to queen.) Long story short, they sent us the WRONG mattress and after the clusterF of what was to send it back and get a refund, my wife found Casper.
The reviews are stellar. The product is marketed like gold. So, we bought into the hype. I wanted to unfurl the beast and be swathed in glory. But, instead, I just kind of sat atop the product… and it felt… hard-​ish.
I am sad. And my lower back is sad. This morning, my shoulder, from laying on my side for a long period of sleep, was sad. Last week, my neck was sad. This is not the good sleep I was hoping for.
Meh. You spend nearly $ 1,000 on a product and you want it to be up there with the reviews. But if you want a plush, pillow-​top mattress, this is not it. We might invest in a topper of some sort, but that just makes me ULTRA SAD because here I am, spending more money on something that should be fantastic right outta the box.

Been on Unilocal forever never written a review until now. Takes a few days to get used to, but ended up being my best, most consistent sleep ever! They send an additional mattress topper after a month if additional support is needed which made the experience that much better.

Who would have thought that a mattress buying experience would inspire a 5 star review?!?
I had heard about Casper and seen the advertisements around the city but was not sure what the situation was with the company but after my experience I can’t stop telling people about it.
I went in on a Saturday afternoon to check out the showroom and was immediately intrigued. Contrary to every other mattress store that I was in there was only one mattress in the showroom. There was a slight wait to give it a try but I wish the wait was longer as I was immediately greeted by a representative who offered me a variety of beverages, I settled on the beer ;).
While I waited, the rep went on to tell me all about the company and how it was founded and you can tell she was super passionate about what she was doing. (I think her name was Jenna?) My previous encounters with mattress sales in department stores have left me feeling angry and uninformed and I felt like I was bothering the employees I questioned. It was refreshing to experience the alternative for once.
When it came time to try the mattress I was a little skeptical about moving forward with the purchase because it’s tough to determine whether or not you will be comfortable when you sleep. The rep informed me of the return policy coupled with the cheap price and I went for it!
The morning after my first sleep on the mattress I woke up and didn’t know what day it was. I slept through the entire night for the first time in years and genuinely felt well rested. It has been a few weeks since my conversion to the Casper mattress and I have more energy than I ever thought I could have.
Top to bottom the employees were incredible all the way down to the delivery driver who dropped the mattress off. Do yourself a favor and check it out because there is definitely a reason why their tagline is «One Perfect Mattress!»

As far as the mattress shopping experience, no one does it better. Picture: walking into a NY loft apartment, greeted by friendly, young «staff’ yet they look and feel like they’re right at home and we are just there visiting friends. We were welcomed and invited to take part in brunch and mimosas. «Oh, might you like to relax and rest your full belly on the sweetest mattress, ever? Follow me…» Cut to me and my partner stepping into the mock bedroom, beautifully and serenely decorated, with the door shut behind us so we could try the mattress in peace without a salesperson watching our every move. Could this get any better?!
In case there was any doubt, the mattress rocked and we purchased online right there on the spot. I was curious about this company but was hesitant to try, even with the 100 day, no-​risk trial. Thankfully we were passing through the city and were able to check it out in person. Non pushy, knowledgeable sales people. This place really is the best.
I’m so excited for my mattress to arrive Monday! And if for some reason it doesn’t work out, Casper will come pick the mattress up during the trial period and donate it to charity. How cool is that?

Well, let me tell you that the Casper is an amazing bed, folks. After doing the research and weighing out the benefits compared to other equally-​priced mattresses, I decided to go with the Casper. It did, in fact, arrive in a box but that just made it easier to put on my frame and get to sleep already!
I love the latex foam top — gives it just the right amount of firmness and give for your body to rest and sleep comfortably.
Given other options on the market, the Casper is the way to go. I’d recommend one to all my friends!
