Nice little café, cash only. Outdoor seating. They let you stay, don’t try to run you off! Good coffee and cannoli!

No credit card accepted. Terrible orange lemonade. A complete tourist spot… At least the service is good.

Sorry, but more tourist bait than any good. Nice location in Little Italy and pretty setting and furnishings. However the pastries were simply boring. All showed the strain of probably being in a refrigerated display case all the livelong day. The shell of the cannoli was rubbery while the custard had congealed. The Napoleon inexplicably had a cake interior(not phyllo) which was soggy anyhow. Three sodas and three pasties managed to ring up at $ 35 which was steep for the equality even at NY pricing. I would not recommend going here other than for location and ambiance. At least the service was pleasant, so I feel bad for them.

Pretty awesome Italian bakery. While strolling through Little Italy, I realized I’d been to this very spot years ago during my first wandering through NY. So, I stopped in to buy some cookies to take back home with me(the only foods/things I brought back so that’s saying something). Really like the amaretto cookies. Biscotti and canollis are a fine go-to as well.

Everything was good — we had coffee, cannoli, chocolate cheesecake, and tiramisu between us and everything was perfectly tasty. Nothing was incredibly exceptional but overall it was good service and price. Worth the stop.

Leave the gun, grab the cannoli! Ha… I get it now. Now I understand!!! It was delicious! Really it was quite good. You won’t be disappointed. The espresso was good too. I’ve had better. I drink a lot of espresso so I’m quite an espresso snob. Ok… So why not 5 stars? Well it’s cash only which is pretty ridiculous for 2016. Cash only??? OY !

I’ve been going to Café Roma for 27 years and my last visit was not good. I ordered a coffee to go. The kid behind the counter said to his co-worker they needed more coffee. After tasting what they gave me I realized what I had was sitting there for hours. It was weak and worse than coffee at a deli. I went to pay and asked for a biscotti to go. The man behind the counter nastily said that there is a ¼lb minimum. I said I only wanted one. He said that there is a ¼lb minimum for takeout. I asked when that started? He said it’s always been that way. He charged me $ 3.00 for the coffee and slammed $ 2.00 in change down on the counter. The younger kids working there looked at me as to say they were sorry. And said good night to me. Café Roma will go out of business not because of the rent. It will fail because they are greedy and can’t sell one cookie with a cup of lousy coffee.

I was not happy with the service at all. We first came in and were told to take a seat anywhere, then asked to move as soon as we chose a table to settle into. When the waiter came around and asked if I had any questions, his answer to mine was«it’s a cake, its good», far from any description or detail. It was a rum cake, and I didn’t think it was good. I wish he could have told me that before I ordered it. And though he was there to take an order before I had time to look at the menu, he took forever to give us the check. When he did, the first indication that they accepted cash only was on a note taped to the tray. And despite the windows advertising WiFi, the network was locked. The pastries themselves weren’t terrible but weren’t great. There are plenty of other spots for an Italian pastry, my next time won’t be here.

While, I feel any restaurant in this neighborhood never gets a fair shake on Unilocal, this one for whatever reason gets penalized by tourists the most. As a lifelong New Yorker, I have to remind you to read between the lines and trust your own eyes and tastebuds. That being said, we picked perhaps some of their best items are were satisfied enough to give them 4.5÷5.0 While you might be tempted to trek to any of the Little Italy bakeries for their coveted cannolis(I don’t blame you), I don’t recall a time where any of them, cookies too, are made on premises anymore. Given that, my recommendation is to try their cakes and coffee to enjoy the full experience. While this place doesn’t get the foot traffic of some of the others in the area, you do get a different ambiance by sitting down in a warm, darker toned café, and far less noise and commotion. I’m sure many of you appreciate being able to hold a conversation without shouting. The owners are always present, and friendly. If there’s an issue with the dessert, say something! We tried the tiramisu, red velvet, and chocolate cakes. They were perfect, with our coffee-based drinks. The cakes were soft and pliable with our forks. 4.5÷5.0

I liked everything — cappucino, espresso, cheesecake. Until the bill arrived and it said — CASHONLY. I mean you are in the middle of Manhattan and you cannot pay by a credit card. All the ATMs around the corner apparently did not accept inernational credit cards meaning we had to walk ca. 10 min to the next bank to get some cash. Please, fix this, or at least write somewhere at the enterance that this is a cash only cafè. Because letting people know that with a bill is just too late.

Nice little spot for after dinner desert and coffee. I had the red velvet cake and my friend had the tiramisu. Mine was moist and tasty. She said her was good too. The waiter was so sweet and friendly. Not sure about much here but those things were nice.

The last time I was in NY, I splurged on desserts at Ferrara. This time, because I was pressed for time AND had three ladies waiting for me, I took a detour from the rest of the group resting in the shade and took off to go find a spot to placate my cannoli craving. I didn’t have time for coffee but the desserts were ready to go from the display so I opted for my cannoli. It was sinfully crispy like a waffle on the outside and filled with this amazing sweet cream of goodness, dotted with little chocolate chips. To-Go service was quick. And the cannoli was gone by the time I reached my counterparts. Good variety of desserts spanning Italian cakes, pastries as well as the infamous Tiramisu. The next time I’m in NY, coming straight back!

Stupendous pastry selection in the oldest pastry shop in the neighborhood. Fantastic interior — great espresso. Pardon the short review, but we have desserts to enjoy. I’ll update later! You’ll see pictures of what we ordered. Ok… Later has arrived. The pastries were all expertly made. Ferrara’s is nice and all — but we’re Caffé Roma types!
