This place is a waste of time AND money!
— They overcharge for simple services
— $ 135 to reinstall Windows, which would have taken me 25 minutes
— They were late on returning my computer to me by a few hours because they couldn’t reinstall everything properly.
— Upon receiving my computer, after I was made late to work, I was told they couldn’t get the mouse pad to work.
I basically paid $ 135 to them for something I could have done myself, not to mention it was returned to me with a broken mousepad with no explanation other than I need to contact the manufacturer myself. Isn’t that what I paid you for?! Please stay away from this place. These guys are hacks and you would be much better off taking your business elsewhere.

These guys are hacks, but in a weird way I’m glad they are hacks, because them being complete hacks actually helped me out. I took my laptop here about a year ago because my screen had cracked and had no picture at all. After charging me a 25 dollar deposit the guy at the desk said they would order a screen and do the job for a total cost of around 250 or so. I get a call a couple days later from the guy saying that they could not fix my laptop because it wasn’t the screen, it was a problem with the motherboard and there was nothing to be done. I should’ve gotten a second opinion but instead I just went computer less for a while and borrowed a friends for some time. Recently I had my brother in law who happens to be an engineer take a look at the computer to see if he could fix it. He hooked it up to his desktop and it was FINE. He advised me to order a new screen so he could replace it for me. So I ordered a screen for about 60 bucks and my brother in law installed it so now my laptop works just as before. All it cost me was 60 bucks as opposed to the 250 I would’ve shelled out to these guys. So again, I’m grateful that they are hacks. But I obviously would not recommend them if you are actually in need of a computer repair.

About one year ago my 2 cellphones needed relatively minor repairs after the one year warranty was over. I shopped around for the best price but made sure to check the rating on Unilocal.
This company had a 4.5 or 5 star rating. Not sure but a good rating nonetheless
One phone had a speakerphone issue and the other had some nonresponsive areas on the touchscreen.
I had assumed that a repair shop could easily replace a digitizer and a speaker and or speaker wire.
Boy was i wrong. When i arrived two teenagers took both phones and a $ 50 deposit. They were friendly and asked me to return in one hour. When i returned they said the touchscreen issue was not fixed as they did not have the part. this was for the motorola atrix. Not an uncommon phone. They told me the speaker just needed a small adjustment
. And that it was fixed.
I made one call and the speaker was again not working. they adjusted again. Same result one call then speaker stopped working.
I left both phones overnight. The next day i came back in the late afternoon. Nothing was fixed on either phon. I was finally told that they cant fix either one. The screen they claim to have changed stopped working aĺtogether.the digitizer was completely dead .they said that the motherboard was bad and it would cost more than its worth to fix it. As for the speaker they did not know how to get another one.
The owner only gave me back $ 25 because he claimed to have paid $ 80 for the digitizer.
Aftet this i knew that if a company has only been reviewed by 50 or less customers, And has a stellar ration RUN FAST AND FAR BEFORE YOU GET ROBBED. also both phones were missing many screws and one was missing an sd card that they claimed to have forgotten to put back. The phones were so poorly reassembled that they did not fit the protective cases Shameful.
One more thing all positive reviews are 5 stars , all six of them. And out of those, only two reviewers have 2 friends. I guess if i recommended this butcher shop i would have less friends too. Most of the positive reviewers have just one review. Just saying. Also i wonder why it is that all six of these reviewers have no profile picture. Who knows maybe they are just made up. out of 10 reviews 6 are 5 stars and 4 are one star. How does that equate to a 4.5 star rating. Im not an accountant but that does not add up. Allright im done.

AVOID THIS PLACE! I cannot believe how I was just treated by the manager of this place. He very well could have been the owner but I didn’t stick around long enough to find out. A few days ago they repaired my broken Iphone screen. I pick it up, paid & slid it back into it’s case. The next day I was looking at my phone & noticed the corner under the screen was chipped! So I brought it back in today since my receipt said they had a 30 warranty on their work. That is a LIE! They refused to honor the warranty and even accused me of braking my phone again. Of course I got upset, but I never yelled at them. The manger held my phone hostage so he could yell, no YELL at me for being «rude» to him. I had to ripe my phone out of his tech’s hands so I could leave. Upon walking out, he said he looks forward to seeing me in court. That experience was unnecessary and his treatment of me was unwarranted. I had a friend with me that videotaped the last few minutes of this interaction. I will be contacting BBB.

As follow up to my review of the Cable Doctor (who I now refer to as the «Incapable Doctor»)…
After them charging me a bench fee and sitting on my iPad for a week only to tell me that they were afraid to fix the power button as they feared breaking the screen when removing it I did a little research and fixed it myself. There are several amazing videos on YouTube that show in detail how to service the iPad (watch as many as you can as they each offer slightly different information that all helps to get the job done). I ordered a $ 3 case opening tool via Ebay and a $ 3.50 set of clips needed to reassemble the unit once the screen has been removed (removing the screen damages the little clips and so replacement is required), and a $ 4 replacement switch. The hardest part of this job was waiting for the switch to arrive from China. I am mechanically inclined but I have never worked on an iPad before. It was tedious but not particularly hard though it may be more complex than the average person would feel comfortable doing (something that would become clear to you after watching the YouTube videos) but I got the job done for just $ 10.50 and without the grief of having to interact with the horrible people at the Cable Doctor.

I brought my Asus Eee Pc from France, it couldn’t charge. I tried with a french adaptor, a US one… in vain! Seemed that the jack was broken :-(
So I made a research on my favorite website Unilocal and found that place, 5mn away from my workplace. I decided to give Cable Doctor a try!
I don’t regret! I have no complaints at all. They received the piece very quick and called me the same day «Your laptop is ready for pick-​up»!
They had to do a big work on my laptop (remove the keyboard to insert the piece…) and my laptop looks exactly the same! They did such a good job.
Now I know that I will bring all my other electronic stuff to them (ipod, iphone…).

Excellent service. Fixed my laptop, better than new, quickly and affordably. Couldn’t ask for more.

They were incredibly helpful, flexible and timely in helping me recover data from a computer and recycling another old computer. Their prices are far better than anyone else’s in the area and they are very honest.

one of the most terrible decisions of my life.
I dropped off my laptop, which was fried because I accidentally spilled a drink on it, on 4÷22÷10. something that should have taken 2 weeks to fix somehow has taken over 7 weeks. I must have called the store 2 or 3 times a week, every week, to see what the hell the situation is. The amount of bullshit and lies I was fed would amaze you.
To recap just some of these lies, I was first told that it could be done by May 12 because the parts were coming in from Brooklyn and Ohio, then I was told that they got lost in shipping, then I was told they would receive them in a few days, then I was told they just received them, then I was told they made a mistake and they still never got them and I also found out they didn’t place an order for the parts until May 10^th (two weeks after I dropped it off), then I was told it would take 5 more days with the guy’s guarantee. Then 3 weeks later I call (because of course these guys can never call me, their client), they tell me that they misdiagnosed the problem and they couldn’t fix it.
This is probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. please do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere, even if it means spending a few more dollars (not that this service was anything cheap). I am not big on making negative reviews, in fact this is the first I’ve ever written, so you should know how compelled I felt to write this. I hope I can stop at least one person from using their service, unless of course you prefer to be cursed out and lied to on the phone.
