this place is ghetto. that being said the dumplings are AMAZING. get the pork chive dumplings. I also ordered the fried veggie dumplings which were okay, not as good as the pork chive dumplings. everything is so cheap. get everything!

Worst place for food in New York! Each time I went here I got sick! I’d rather eat something from a garbage bag than from this place again. It’s so not worth the $ 1.50

So delicious and so cheap. You really can’t go wrong. I think my boyfriend and I ate for like under $ 12 for the both of us and got so much food. The dumplings are just pure heaven, no matter what flavor you get. We also got some peanut noodles that I just loved. And the portions are huge for the price. You can’t really get better than this if you are a foodie on a budget like myself.

Some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had. They have all different kinds, freshly made, and they’re super cheap. Is the location clean? Not really, but if even I can look the other way, then you can too, because once you take a bite of a dumpling, you’ll forget where you are. We got our dumplings fried and they had a perfect amount of crunch. Loved them! I’m a dumpling whore so these really hit the spot as a great afternoon snack. I definitely want to come here again.

The hubs and I came to C&C Prosperity Dumpling on our dumpling run in the morning. The menu is pretty short and sweet, offering different variety of dumplings, dim sums, soup, and noodle soup. They also have frozen dumpling that you can purchase in bulk. I tried the Chive & Pork Fried Dumplings, which came with 4 pieces. The dumplings themselves had a thicker skin, fried on one side. While soy sauce wasn’t really needed, I wished that they had regular soy sauce rather than only the dumpling sauce that was available. The filling was seasoned well, though, and it was pretty juicy. The place itself is mostly carry-out, but there is some limited counter seating available to enjoy your bites before you go on with your day. Service is pretty friendly, but it is limited English, so keep that in mind. There are a few workers in the back, but it is literally one employee who mans the front, so you have to exercise some patience. +Chive & Pork Fried dumplings +no regular soy sauce available

We were in New York for three days recently and ate dumplings from this place twice. I dream of these dumplings, that’s how good they are. Try them. You won’t be disappointed. The pork and chive are my favorite and my fiancé is a huge fan of the brisket soup. He claims he could eat here everyday if we lived closer! The dumplings are stuffed perfectly, meaning they stay intact when you bite into them and they are tender enough to be chewy, yet crispy enough to have a slight crunch on the outside. The next time you’re looking for s quick, cheap meal and you’re in the LES, stop by!

$ 4.25 got me a delicious sesame duck sandwich and some damn fine pork and chive dumplings. Yeah, it’s a hole in the wall packed with teenagers, but it’s worth the little wait and sparse seating. Seriously, that was hands down the best lunch I’ve had in a while for under $ 5. Get all up in there.

Prosperity Dumplings has some delicious dumplings. Add in the fact that they’re $.25 apiece and you get somewhere that’s definitely worth visiting. We tried the Chives and Pork and Cabbage and Pork dumplings. I don’t think there was much of a difference between the different fillings, but they were all tasty and much larger than you would expect for a quarter. I preferred the steamed ones — the fried ones were a whole lot oilier, though if you like your dumplings crispy then they are still a solid choice. The place is a hole in the wall, with an ordering window and a few chairs. We took ours to a nearby park to eat them. Overall, not a place to go if you are looking for some ambiance or a place to sit, but excellent for a quick(and cheap!) bite.

Wish I could give this joint 8 stars on a scale of 1 to 5! Amazing, no… GREAT, but tiny hole-in-the-wall traditional Chinese dumpling joint(primarily for takeout) on Clinton St. Its actual full name is C&C Prosperity Dumpling, as shown on the shop sidewalk awning and on the paper menus. They sell only dumplings and five or six other simple Chinese dishes, such as peanut/sesame noodles, sesame pancakes, etc. Best of all, their dumplings are very low in MSG! Great dumplings! I am addicted to the dumplings sold in this place, and therefore I have been hesitating for almost two months to leave this 5-star review, because I REALLYDONOTWANTANYONEELSETOKNOWABOUTTHISGREATPLACE! Prices are so low that I cannot even talk about them. Think 1960s prices in the year 2015. BTW, the staffers at the front counter are friendly and helpful. PLEASEDONOTVISITTHISLITTLEDUMPLINGSHOP! I want all the dumplings for myself! BTW, in closing, I must say that anyone who gives this shop fewer than 5 stars should, in my estimation, be forcibly committed to the psychiatric ward at Bellevue Hospital for at least 100 years.

With Prosperity Dumpling Prime out of commission due to health code violations(it may be back, but it will be pretty hard to remove the sheer scale and number of those transgressions while eating) lovers of cheap Northern-style dumplings aimed at the college set have migrated toward Delancey. There’s slightly more room to wait and eat at C&C, helpful for the cold months ahead. This is also useful because C&C is slower than its former competition, with orders arriving several minutes after they are ordered. The wait isn’t bad, but it did lead to confusion on my recent visit as the cashier what who ordered what dish. As with nearly every dumpling place in the City, the sesame pancake should be avoided. I’m not sure why the kitchens in the area think this is what Americans want, because the flaky bread served in China has been replaced by an oily mess. The dumplings are pretty good. They aren’t the enormous specimens of takeout Chinese and very much resemble a good-to-fair to guotie. I prefer a couple of places in actual Chinatown for my cheap dumpling fix, but these are pretty damn tasty and closer to the bars of the Lower East Side.

You would never think to walk into this dingy looking tiny place of you walked by it. But I was dragged in by a friend who I very well thought may have been on something by even stepping foot in here. It’s very small and there are only about 5 stools in there to sit on. I ordered 4 veggie dumplings for 1.50. The price itself was great but I was still doubtful until I put their sauce on the dumpling and ate it! They were probably the best dumplings I’ve ever had in my life! As I said before, only con would be the exterior and interior but if you try these you’ll definitely be ordering more to take home with you!

Wait? There is something oddly strange about the prices here. it’s so cheap! 3.5 FOODQUALITY: The dumplings here are actually pretty good for what you’re paying for; it actually is better than some knockoff cheap places in the Southern California and beats all of Chinese imitation restaurants. The skin is a little rigid, and the meat mixture a little cheap; they definitely do not use high quality cuts of meat so don’t expecting anything to blow your mind. For $ 1.25 for 4 dumplings, this is a perfect spot for a snack. Overall, come here if you’re in a rush and if you’re a tourist form southern california this place is a skip because you’d definitely would have had better somewhere else. But if you’re stuck in NYC and never had authentic Chinese dumplings before, then I’d say go for it.

EATATYOUROWNRISK! I was a fan of C&C Prosperity Dumpling in LES and would occasionally get their boiled dumplings, but no longer! I had some fried dumplings and pan-fried pork buns the other day, and have been struggling with a terrible stomachache ALLDAY the night of/morning after. The price of these dumplings are suspiciously cheap, so it makes sense they would use skeptical quality meat to make the dumplings… no wonder I got sick from eating them! I’d much rather pay more for a better quality food that won’t get me sick!

Ever since the first time I tried Prosperity Dumpling, I was hooked. I came here EVERY day during the week I was visiting New York, and mind you, this was with a 1 hr transit each and every time. It doesn’t get any better than delicious, authentic dumplings at a ridiculously low price. While this place is a hole-in-the-wall and always packed, it moves quickly when taking orders. The dumplings are perfect as a midday snack, or a late night treat. So forget the traditional tourist sights — if you want to experience real life as a New Yorker, you must add this to your visit!

The prices are obv. a bit higher than what is listed in the main photo used here, around a buck more per item or 75 cents more. Had: Cha Chiang Mein: Nice and spicy, noodles were OK. So was the pork. Probably the worst dish but by no means bad. Reminded me of dandanmein but without the sesame flavor. Sesame Duck Pancake: Oh so rich and oh so good. Almost a bit too rich but honestly, it’s a sesame duck pancake so it’s going to be. Cabbage and Pork Fried Dumplings: Solid, similar to the other dumpling places in terms of filling. There are better but there are a lot worse. Place is in the middle of the Chinatown dumpling stalls but it’s in an area you wouldn’t expect a good dumpling so I’ll bump it up a bit to a 4. Around a 3.4 otherwise.

What a dump! But what delicious, dirt cheap and filling food!!! We had a soup with dumplings in it, great dumplings. We had the peanut pasta, not great, the peanut sauce was very watery and the pasta were like tagliatelle– quite a funny dish when you think of it, but for $ 2.50 you won’t lose sleep over it. The best thing on the menu is the pancake sandwich! We had one with duck and while the filling echoes what you have in a Vietnamese bao sandwich(cilantro and flavoring), the bread is like a flat thick Italian sesame bread. It was amazing, I think once the sandwich is made, they grill it again in a panini fashion and it makes the all thing crispy, warm and overall quite delectable. I think this was around $ 4. Seriously, can’t beat the prices and the deliciousness of the food. It’s still a dump though, you wouldn’t know how good things could taste haha

Another dumpling spot! This place looks as dumpy as most Chinatown establishments do, except that it’s located on Clinton St. The menu is small but familiar — a variety of fried or boiled dumplings, pork buns, sesame pancakes and noodle offerings. The pork and cabbage dumplings are my go to and I prefer them boiled. The fried dumplings are solid though — quite plump and juicy which is great but not as crisp as at the Prosperity on Eldridge(are they affiliated btw?) I’ve also had the sesame pancakes — greasy goodness. Get it with duck. Service is straightforward. It’s always the same young gentleman who serves me. Ultimately, I’ve definitely had better dumplings elsewhere but this place will do the trick if you’re in the neighborhood and lazy to trek the extra blocks to Chinatown. $ 1.25 for 4 — can’t go wrong!

The Duck Sesame Sandwich This less crowded newer Prosperity Dumpling serves up a smaller menu than the one on Eldridge, but great nonetheless. The fried dumplings here weren’t as crispy, but pretty good. The star is the sesame duck pancake. Much like a duck banh mi, it’s delicious roast duck, pickled carrots between bread.

$ 5 for a full belly and something to drink?! Yes please! You have to try the sesame pancake with vegetables in it, it’s amazing! I get that with a 5 piece chive and pork fried dumplings for $ 1.25. This place is cash only. It’s dingy looking but the food is delicious! I was here on a Saturday and a local LES food tour stopped by — now you know it’s a hidden gem!
