History

Established in 1979.

Hijinx learned his first magic trick when he a six year old growing up in Brooklyn, NY. He performed street magic as a high school student in Central Park and the Seaport and later in comedy clubs.

Hijinx has entertained all over America and Europe and specializes in making private parties fun and magical.

Brian performed at my son’s 9th birthday & he was a big hit. Everything was smooth from booking to his ability to work the room and keep 12 5 – 9 year old boys in line, laughing and in awe. The adults also had a blast. I highly recommend Brian for your next party.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Brian McGovern’s magic show. We just had my daughter’s 5th birthday party, and from the professionalism and ease of booking to the happiest giggles and faces of awe during the show– we could not be more thrilled. Brian’s show engaged a room full of children and adults – I could not believe how well he kept the kids attention, they were simply transfixed by his sense of humor and showmanship, and there was plenty of humor to keep the adults’ attention (and keep them quiet!). Every parent and family member made sure to tell me how much they enjoyed Brian’s show, and our daughter was absolutely overjoyed. Such a successful party! Thank you so much, Brian!

I just had Brian
daughters 1st birthday party. The kids ranged from 3 to 11. He kept their attention the whole time. Not only was his magic great for kids and adults he has a great sense of humor. He was very entertaining and kept us all laughing the entire time. My husband had seen him at a friend’s party and said we had to get him. I don’t normally trust my husbands judgement but he made a great call with Brian!

We had a huge 1st birthday party for our son. 48 kids were present, along with parents and more. We thought that Brian might be able to keep about half of them busy while we hoped that other attractions would entertain the rest. Brian exceeded our expectations and not only kept every single kid laughing and engaged, but the adults as well! If you’re looking for a magician for your child’s birthday, you’re looking in the right place. We cannot wait to use him again!

I echo what the other reviewers have shared. Brian came to my daughter’s 5th birthday party and managed to keep the kids entranced and laughing hysterically the whole time. The parents also had a great time; he cracks plenty of jokes aimed at adults, without compromising his attention to his first priority – the kids. He was also prompt, professional, and helpful. This is the 2nd time we have hired Brian to perform at our son’s birthday party. Once for his 5th and again for his 8th birthday. Brian was happy to perform for our crowd in a Stuyvesant Town playground on a hot & sunny summer day. Both times, parents had just as much fun as the kids with his show. Brian is funny, fun, witty and very talented. The bunny just barely succeeded in upstaging him! Brian is a delight and we would recommend him to anyone anytime.

Brian performed a magic show for my child’s 4th birthday party. For 45 minutes, the 4-​year-​olds were laughing hysterically, as was my 7-​year-​old – not to mention the adults. Great experience with Brian for an 8-​year old birthday party we were hosting. The kids LOVED him. He was very professional and responsive throughout the booking process, arrived early, and was kind enough to start early and stay a few minutes late to keep the kids occupied when the pizza delivery ran late. We will definitely hire Brian in the future!

One of the most fascinating entertainers I have witnessed. The ultimate rope trick is my all time favorite. The best thing is that is is not just magic, it is hysterically funny. You want to hang out with this guy after the show and buy him drinks.
No matter what the occasion or type of crowd this guy can bring a great show.
