Catering and private chef services, private cooking classes, culinary tours, consulting.
History
Established in 2001.
Founded in Rome, Italy, this business was an outgrowth of demand in the Italian capital for high-end, Michelin star restaurant quality cuisine in a catering format, and a few requests from embassies, film companies, and arts organizations fueled the founding of this culinary company. We began teaching cooking classes and giving market and food tours shortly thereafter. We were the first American-owned food business in Rome, and we brought this love of international cuisine to New York in 2008.

Business Owner
Chef Dana Klitzberg is an authority on international cuisine, entertaining, and culinary culture. As Executive Chef and principal of Blu Aubergine, Chef Dana offers private chef, catering, and consulting services, as well as cooking classes, in both the U.S. and overseas. Ms. Klitzberg founded the company in Rome, Italy, where she spent 8 years working her way to the top of restaurant kitchens, and honing her craft through travel around the Italian peninsula and beyond.
After completing culinary school at Manhattan’s Institute of Culinary Education, Dana embarked on her cooking career at the renowned San Domenico NY, and later moved to Rome, where she spent 8 years perfecting her style of regional Italian cuisine. She cooked under several Michelin-starred chefs, working her way up to executive chef — quite possibly the only female American chef to ever head a restaurant kitchen in Italy. Dana has also consulted for various restaurants in New York and Italy.
