I am having problems with the 14^th Street H&RBlock. I was told that 23^rd Street and 14^th Street are linked. So, here are my comments for 14^th Street. I wish there were MINUS ratings — you’d get it.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? There is no follow up, no return phone calls, nothing. I brought my taxes in. I have now called three times and it is ⁴⁄₁₄ — the day before my taxes are due. Your representatives are TOTALLY stupid. i asked if my taxes were done for review — I was told, «the only way to find out is to make an appointment and come in.» You can’t tell me? I stopped into the offices on Sunday, George was out. I was told someone would get back to me. No return phone call. Don’t PROMISE that you will call me and then nothing. You have email, phone, etc. to reach me. My creditors have no problem!
I think you follow up stinks. It should be interesting to see how much you are going to charge me for MY inconvenience! I should turn around and bill you.
When I said I wanted to «complain» — the lady on my phone said I could bring my concerns for my appointment. Why? It is not the preparer who is the problem (or is it?)
This should be a simple and painless process. Why so complicated? Why so secretive and no answers?
I’m not happy and would NOT advise anyone to go here and use your services.
Think twice before going to H&R Block. All they seem to be good for is advertising for more business.
I had used George at this office before and was pleased with him, but that is where it ends.
Oh…your motto, «BILLIONS BACK» — I think that applies to what the corporate executives get for their share of jerking you around.

Is it weird to give a tax place a 5 star review? Seriously though, this is my first time doing my taxes in the US and overall a pretty good experience… I think this is 100% the result of my specialist — Phyllis. What an amazing person to have in this job. She was super friendly, helpful and so knowledgeable so I felt so comfortable with her handling my affairs. I’ll definitely be reaching out to her next year.

Giving one star is being too nice! This place is awful. There so-​called experts are the most ridiculous people I have ever encountered. They are rude and terrible at answering questions.
The guy was such a great expert that he had to keep asking an associate for help — and even she wasn’t sure. What a horrible experience. When I told the guy I was sure about what he was doing and that I wanted a second opinion, before I even had the chance to finish my sentence he sat up from his seat an began to walk away, I asked him a question and his response was «if you want me to finish your return I’ll help you if not you can ask your second opinion» — real professional NOT!

H&R block servers were down, waited 20 minutes for servers to go back up. When it came time to exit and pay, their servers were down again. Linda Sharp, the person that prepared my tax return was okay. H&R block has scraped the bottom of the barrel, when it comes to some of their staff.
Some of the staff had an attitude, totally unprofessional.

Terrible experience!
If you are a foreign don’t have them do your taxes!
Even if they tell you that you are talking to a specialist!
The first person from the upper east side office did my taxes wrong, the second agent on 23^rd kept blaming her but not helping!
According to what they said I supposed to get a refund of 800 $ from the IRS, at the end I have to pay 250 $
Completely wrong that is the least i can say!

i wanted to make an app. for my grandmother to have her taxes done. A woman by the name patrice sp? picked up the phone. She was beyond rude. We have never used H&R block before, so she started to ask personal questions, like the last four of her social and did she own a home. and I asked her is it important for you to know that. «YES IT IS «she yelled ’ I wouldnt be asking you if it wasnt». Try another H&R block, I would not be bothered with those people/

I’ve been getting my taxes done at H and R block for probably the last 5 – 6 years. I’ve always been very happy with thier services until… this year.
This year I actually owed money because my previous employer didnt take taxes out. Which has made my life that much more difficult.
I went to H&R block (as usual) to have them do my taxes. Everything seemed well ok. Only they did not make things very clear (a week ago). I left there still a little confused to what would be happening to my money. They charged me a total of $ 288 just to DO my taxes. Because they said it was after the actual «date». So they took that out of my bank account. And i owe the gov. about $ 250. And They said they needed a routing number from my bank so that they could deposit a state tax i was getting back. Which the rep. said I would be getting probably in a week or so.
Well it’s been a week and nothing so i called this particular H&R and …(ok i understand they are busy, but) I was being totally patient and respectful by waiting on the phone when they asked me to. But to my surprise they were ubrupt and rude on the phone. Two different men got on the phone and talked down to me as if I was supposed to Know… that NYC’s stae tax is running late on returns etc…“Didnt I know this???“
NO! why would I be calling???
Any way They were totally rude. I might think again before going to H&R Block, Ever AGAIN!
Such a shame 1 person can ruin it for a whole buisness.
