History

Established in 1970.

Once a greeting card store, the Blarney Cove started out as a local old man’s bar. Long and narrow with a drop ceiling, the patrons were your Uncle, Father or Grandfather back in the day. Smoking, drinking shifts and wisecracks were the normal day or evening experience at the Cove. As the older patrons moved on and the neighborhood changed, the clientele got younger. NYU students had a brief Blarney Cove explosion during the 90’s and early 2000’s. An after hours club during the late 80’s and 90’s kept the Blarney Cove cult status above the rest. The décor is pretty much the same as it has been for the last 20 years.
