History

Established in 1963.

Since the early sixties, our family-​run stationery, printing, and art supplies business has met the needs of a clientele who appreciate a custom invitation or a personalized gift. Our printing business relocated to Lexington Ave on February 2014 from its original Madison Ave site.

It brings us great joy to announce that we are bringing back journals, art supplies, frames, hostess gifts, and many other Blacker and Kooby staples that have been greatly missed in the hood.

Business Owner

I was born into this very happy business. My father started Blacker and Kooby in 1963, and after I attended the Wharton School of Business, I worked in banking and finally joined my father in 1987. I have loved paper and design from birth. I am a very accomplished doodler, and self taught designer. Making a printing project come to life gives me great pleasure. I choose my staff carefully, because I want to be surrounded by people I love and beautiful things. Brides and sassy thirteen year olds fill my days at work, and I am always thrilled to meet a fellow paper junkie!
