History
Established in 2003.
After receiving my Masters degree in Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University, I moved to NYC to work with people suffering from pelvic floor dysfunctions and orthopedic injuries. Seeing a growing need for specialized care in this field, I set out to create a new type of practice which would take a holistic approach to the patient’s entire well being. In 2003, Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, which has a primary focus on Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Pelvic Pain and manual therapy in men, women and children, opened its doors to the public. There are currently 6 PTs on staff who are licensed in the State of New York and hold a master’s or a doctorate degree in physical therapy with specialized training in pelvic floor dysfunction, women’s health care, and orthopedic injuries and Pilates rehab and wellness. In addition, all PTs have extensive training in manual therapy and participate in ongoing continuing education in their specialties.

I am the founder of Beyond Basics Physical Therapy in New York City, where all of our physical therapists specialize in pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, and manual therapy for men, women, and children while taking a holistic approach to each patient’s entire well-being. I also lecture nationwide, and I have been interviewed in media outlets ranging from the medical segments of popular news shows on television to such newspapers as the New York Daily News to internet sites like www.ourgyn.com. I am also a contributor to the medical textbook, Female Sexual Pain Disorders: Evaluation and Management, and I serve on the board of the International Pelvic Pain Society. I received my BA from Washington University in St Louis, MO and a Masters in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. I am currently working towards a doctorate at NSU.
