History

Established in 2003.

After receiving my Masters degree in Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University, I moved to NYC to work with people suffering from pelvic floor dysfunctions and orthopedic injuries. Seeing a growing need for specialized care in this field, I set out to create a new type of practice which would take a holistic approach to the patient’s entire well being. In 2003, Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, which has a primary focus on Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Pelvic Pain and manual therapy in men, women and children, opened its doors to the public. There are currently 6 PTs on staff who are licensed in the State of New York and hold a master’s or a doctorate degree in physical therapy with specialized training in pelvic floor dysfunction, women’s health care, and orthopedic injuries and Pilates rehab and wellness. In addition, all PTs have extensive training in manual therapy and participate in ongoing continuing education in their specialties.
