Bestbar is NYC’s one of a kind live music bar located in Times Square NYC at 355 west 41st Street New York NY 10 036. We are located at the corner of 9th avenue and 41st street twenty feet from the Port Of Authority and all of the excitement, restaurants and nightlife of Midtown Manhattan.

In October of 2014 Bestbar was born! Located in a spot that formerly hosted a dive bar and before that a pub the new owners decided to take over the business, remodel the building and create BESTBAR. Bestbar is the only one of its kind and will become your new favorite hang out. Live entertainment in all varieties, some of the best drink prices in the city and of course our bartenders! Our atmosphere can cater to any audience from after hours business professionals to college students and working class folks alike. Our bar area is filled with great unique memorabilia from NYC and abroad. The bar is cozy and friendly always and ALL are welcome.

This isn’t even Best Bar. It’s still Tobacco Road, and they are still practicing terrible business by screwing bands, hiring bartenders who don’t know squat based on looks alone, and worst of all, pretending they are a music destination in NYC. Avoid this place at all costs.

Not a good place for musicians. I’ve performed here twice and wasn’t impressed. Not because the place is small, and there was a roach in the bathroom and mouse traps by the bar near the walls… but because both times with two different sound guys and hosts for different events, the sound quality wasn’t good at all. The bartenders and other staff don’t seem to care about the performers or shows going on behind the curtains. It’s just a weird vibe overall and I don’t care to go back…

Came here when it was Port 41 and most recently, as BestBar. Decent dive. Female bartenders dressed in skimpy outfits which I’m not huge on but just putting it out there — this can either appeal to you or not. I didn’t see any live bands here. There was a popcorn machine. My biggest issue with this place was the lighting — it seemed very bright. I prefer my dives dimly lit. Obviously not a huge deal but kind of messed with the vibe for me.

The owner called me three days after my visit to tell me he had my license and glasses. Found me and tracked me down through Facebook from my name on my id. Love this place! Great bands, very cool atmosphere, cheapest drinks I’ve seen in city bars. A beer and a shot for $ 5?!

Decent stage but I would not suggest playing here. A patron asked if he could play the jukebox in the bar area while someone was performing on the stage to which the bartender responded, «Go for it. The shows aren’t bringing me business. I don’t give a fuck.» I was sitting at the bar at the time and it truly irked me to hear that as I was performing in the next set.
No drink tickets or discounts for performers. They were supposed to provide a doorman and did not. Seems like a lot of miscommunication between the bar and the promoter.
Sound guy was good but overall, this is an unfriendly space for musicians.
