Went there today for the first time, got my hair color and cut. Only one customer inside, 2 employees on the phone greet me, didn’t want to let that phone off their hands. Telling me to take off my coat without telling me where the closet is. Anyway, can’t expect much from a local barber shop, but at least talk to the customer with eyes contact. A lady with short hair took care of me, the only one that doesn’t have a phone in her hand and actually understand what is customer service. Guide me through the color choosing process, applying the color in detail, while my hair is in the coloring process, she took care another customer, but still to assure that I’m alright. She also wash my hair, very gentle and nice massage. Then she pass me to the hand of a male stylist, and tell me he will cut my hair. My hair cut is not bad, but nothing fabulous. After all, I only want to trim the end around 2 inches. He cut, and blow dry, and trim again. Then blow dry one more time at the end, and I’m done. My hair looks straight but too flat. Then it come to the part of paying. The total for color and haircut is $ 60, when I asked the guy how much is each for color and haircut, he is very impatient and with attitude, he just repeat that it’s $ 60. I just want to know how much is each so I can tip them according to the price, don’t know why it’s so hard for him to just answer my question. Then the lady that help me with the color came over and tell me the price different. I think the guy should really change his attitude toward customers, he’s on the phone when customer walk in, and even on the phone when customer sit in the chair waiting for him. He make me feel really unpleasant. The three stars is for the lady with the short hair who color my hair, she’s nice.

I’ve been getting my hair cut here recently. I recommend the gentle men that owns this place to cut your hair. He’s really good and price is very reasonable.

I have been there so many times. One male stylist with glasses cut my long hair short and really refresh me. I like my new hairstyle. And I have recommended several friends there. They all like there. The price regarding to the skills is also reasonable.

That lady has good skills of washing hair, very patient and will give massage. But hair stylist has poor skill and is impatient. Cut the hair very roughly because he wants to close the store in time.

I have been going to Gari for more than 5 years. Always happy with the final look. Gari is always honest when it comes when I ask him about a new look I want to try out. He won’t just cut your hair but rather help you look and feel better. The salon also has other services that I don’t take advantage of like waxing, nails, and massage.

Had my hair cut by Ben. Short length fade, but not skin fade. In most other hair salons, the barber/stylist adds an attachment to the clipper to get the right gradient/length. Ben simply used the zero attachment setting and a comb to make a pefect fade. Quick and without hassle. $ 8 plus tip. No obligatory shampoos(nice, but not always necessary for men’s hair), massages, or hot towels. Highly recommended, even over the typical Asian hair salons/barbershops in Flushing, which are usually the ones that can cut Asian hair properly.

Ask for Sam if you are an Asian guy. My mom tells me he’s my distant cousin but he only recognizes her and not me. Anyway, he always gives me a great cut; tapers the sides and trims the top, sometimes to a faux-hawk but I think I’m too old for that style now. For a few bucks extra they’ll shampoo your hair and give you a shoulder massage. $ 14 for wash and cut. Can’t beat that! Even though I live in Texas, every time I’m back in NYC, I’ll try to hit up his shop to get my «ears lowered.» I never really understood that phrase but supposedly it means haircut.
