Specialties
I specialize in portraits for clients of all ages. I am great with young children. I am great with people who think they are «not photogenic». I am great with people who are nervous or camera shy.
My clients always tell me how surprisingly easy I am to work with. I hear all the time «Wow, I have never felt that comfortable having my picture taken! I actually had fun!»
I am most proud of hearing «how hard it was to choose a favorite picture! There were so many great shots!»

History
Established in 1996.
In 1996 I built my very first darkroom & portrait studio in my parents basement when I was still in high school. There is something about capturing a person’s personality on camera that has always inspired me, and so I’ve always been drawn to portrait photography.
I began in my hometown of Milwaukee, WI as an actor. I shot headshots for the local actors and production photos for the local theatre companies.
In 2000 I moved to New York and expanded my practice to include musicians, live concerts, dancers, CD covers, society functions for the social diary, production photos for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and photojournalism for various theatrical publications.
To my delight, I discovered that my method of photographing actors helped doctors, lawyers, authors, politicians, public speakers, and corporate clients to all feel at ease in front of my camera.
Since 2009 I have held special promotions so that my services are affordable to clients of all economic backgrounds.

Business Owner
Ben Strothmann has lived in New York City since 2000. He is an actor, singer, and a drag queen! Best known as Honey LaBronx, Ben can be seen online in his Vegan Drag Queen Cooking Show, or heart as the co-host of his podcast «Big Fat Vegan Radio».
Ben is a passionate animal rights activist, and spends his spare time studying Icelandic, aromatherapy, and creating various multimedia projects.
