Belvedere Hotel

The best part about this hotel is the location. It is so close to Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller center, grand central station, and to the subway station. I rarely had to use the subway or über to get anywhere. The room we were in was quite spacious and best of all, it was very clean. Check-​in and check-​out was very easy. Check-​in time is at 4pm, if you get there early, they will still make you wait closer to that 4pm time.
The cons: the lights in the bathroom were awful. I know this is a petty complaint, but since the lights were above, there was a shadow cast, and it made it difficult to put my contacts in or apply makeup. I couldn’t tell I even had makeup on because it was so dim and shadowy. There was something wrong with our AC, I think it was leaking so the entire carpet next to the AC was completely wet. Luckily they sent someone up right away to get it fixed. The elevator was super slow. Sometimes it would take forever to go down bc there were only 2 main elevators for 17 floors. I also got stuck in the elevator for 2 min with 7 people. And when we were still in our room, housekeeping cAme in. We told her it’s okay, that we didn’t need anything because all we really wanted to do was rest. She kept insisting to come in, so she came right on in, and kept finding things to take or replace. The gesture was nice, but we told her plenty of times that we were okay. Lastly, tried to check in early but there were no rooms ready so we checked in our bags with the bell boy. After giving us our ticket, he just stood there awkwardly as if he was waiting for a tip. So not until I took a few dollars out of my wallet did he move and take the bags.
So would I stay here again. I probably would because of the location, the staff was nice, and the rooms were very clean.

Hotel alright, good location, staff good, skip the breakfast. better cheaper around the corner.

This was the perfect Times Square hotel. Close enough to walk to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building and Central Park. The biggest plus was that it was far enough from the square that it was quiet throughout the night.
Ricky at the front desk was so helpful and very professional. He checked us in early and upgraded us to an executive room for my girlfriend’s birthday. He also helped with parking advice throughout the weekend.
The room was a great size for New York, very clean, with an extremely comfortable bed. I highly recommend the Belvedere for anyone visiting New York City.

Great location, next to everything, including a deli/​store, but keep in mind also right next to the fire station (sirens, but it’s NY!) Friendly staff. Great views and cozy! Hair dryer available in room. Always have hot water and good water pressure. Good channel selection to watch holiday movies! Roll-​away bed needs extra covers because it’s really hard to sleep on! And they should offer room service for breakfast. Overall, love it here! Little things are fixable! :)

Great location and facility. Friendly staff. Mishandle by Mac — sometime between pre check in and checking, and broke the screen. The manager was very attentive and I am hoping they will take care of repair. If so I will gladly update my review! Concerned cause I was told I wouldn’t get copy of incidence report.

I had a two day meeting at 30 Rock, and looked for a hotel in the Times Square area. In October 15. I went to one of the blind discount hotel sites and by great fortune got the Belvedere at a nice rate. The room was great, and the hotel’s location, just a couple blocks from the theatre district was terrific. Lots of subway lines close too.
Location: I could walk to 30 Rock in under 20 minutes yet he block the Belvedere is on had only 2 retail locations so it was much quieter and less hectic than other hotels where I have stayed in the area.
Room: MUCH bigger than most hotels these days. I’d guess it was formerly a studio apt. Had refrigerator and microwave. And the room key worked with one swipe every time… a pet peeve of mine at many hotels.
Services: I give 4 stars and not 5, because you have to pay extra for Internet, which I despise. The wait for the elevator, when there was one, was short, in spite of the many tourists. Housekeeping kept the room spotless. Exercise room was ho-​hum, but at least there.
Summary. I’ll check this on out anytime I go to NYC and need to be in Times Square area.

Excellent location. That’s it for the good. Rooms were extremely hot — had to turn on the AC to combat the central heating and the AC lost. Beds are very small if you’re tall. And there was a feeling of general uncleanliness. The staff was very nice however.

Surprisingly roomy room, worn furnishings but clean, with little kitchenette. Polite staff, easy walk to Times Square and a ton of restaurants as well as theater district. Doable walk to Javits Center. Tiny elevators, everyone get cosy! Phone on wall in bathroom instead of hair dryer (which was in hallway closet). I would recommend, especially if you can get a good rate.

This is a great hotel for the money. I visit NYC often and room rates can be crazy, but I found this little gem in the theater district on a quick trip to see some plays — and didn’t break the bank. I couldn’t have been more pleased. The room was spacious, clean and modern. It even includes a small fridge and microwave that proved to be useful Even with the service elevator next to my room, it was amazingly quiet. I was also impressed –don’t laugh– by the shower water pressure — awesome! The room service is provided by a restaurant next door which provides a much larger menu and huge portions. I ate my pasta for two days — thanks to the microwave. My one complaint, is no wine delivery with the food. Two unequivocal two thumbs up!

Walking distance to Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen, subways etc…
Concierge stored our luggage and helped us get a cab to JFK.
Convenient restaurant attached.
I would stay here again!

This is the first time where I wasn’t completely happy with my secret Hotwire deal.
I can’t complain about the location because it was close to Times Square and some great restaurants. I really appreciated the mini fridge and microwave in the room! BF and I were able to keep drinks cold but we never needed to use the microwave. The bellmen were very nice and the hotel did not hesitate in storing our bags for us before we checked in and even after checkout.
I hated how slow the elevator was… And it was so cramped! Being on the 16^th floor was really a pain. If you need to use the vending or ice machine… You have to go to the second floor. The only AC in the room is a portable unit at the window. You have no choice to open the blinds if you want air, since the blinds cover the air flow.
The experience overall was just okay for the price. I would have rather pay a little more for more convenience in amenities.

You would think that a hotel that charges $ 10+ per day for internet would have decent internet, but alas no. The wifi is weak and slow and the entertainment option on TV consists of one channel, the New York news channel. The staff is ok in terms of helpfulness and the elevator shaky. I suppose in this area of town, it’s the best that one could do for $ 350 a night :(

I had a very nice experience at this hotel. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and a pleasure to talk with. I would have given 5-​stars if it were not for poor elevators and air conditioning problems we experienced in our room. The rooms were of nice quality and extremely comfortable beds. The maids did a nice job with cleaning our rooms. People greeted us at the door and even opened it for us. Overall it was a nice stay minus those two issues.

Room vs deal price ratio pretty good. If the rooms were as updated as the lobby was I’d give it four stars. Window AC unit is behind shade so if you plan on keeping the AC flowing you have to keep shade open, in turn when the sun comes up so do you.

This hotel was beautiful walking in. My friends stayed on the 8^th floor. I would be worried about getting towards the freight elevator (very loud noises), but over this room doesn’t have bed bugs and VERY convient to everything in NYC/​Times Square/​and lots of eateries. The west side on 10^th –11^th around the 42^nd and 48^th area is great.

This review is long overdue! I brought my 10 year old daughter to The Belvedere for a last-​minute trip to New York and stayed at The Belvedere for the first time. I cannot go on enough about how wonderful this hotel was.
First, we checked in at 11 am, fully expecting to have them hold our bags and OUR ROOM WAS READY. What??? I was shocked! This was the week after Tgiving and the day before the tree lighting. I made our reservations literally 12 hours before our arrival. Everyone we encountered was cheerful and friendly and happy to help… there was absolutely NO pandering or pouting for tips. The location was perfect and accessible to everything (3 subway lines, Columbus Circle, Times Square) the bed was super comfy, the bathroom plenty big, and a microwave, mini fridge and sink in the entranceway to the room. It is not a 5 star hotel, but it is a great value for the location and space. More than that, it is clean and comfortable. I saved about $ 2k from my regular hotel in Midtown (and was two blocks from restaurant row and walked home from late shows every night). Bravo to my new favorite NYC hotel!

Close to TimesSquare, Rockfellar, Central Park. stayed for a night and the room was compact!!!
We reached the hotel by 12pm. It’s quiet hard to get rooms before the check-​in time (4pm). Good that they were kind enough to hold our bags till then. The bell boy were all Tip hungry!!!

Hotel con muy buena ubicacion en pleno centro de times square, rodeado de locales, tiendas y sitios para comer, desayunar o cenar. El hotel está muy limpio y tiene muchas comodidades. La cama de matrimonio es muy amplia y cómoda y hay una cafetera en la que tienes café para hacertelo tu mismo, azucar y leche en polvo. El personal muy atento y simpático. Tienes el metro, bus y taxi al lado y puedes ir andando a muchos lugares turisticos.

Hotel limpio, decoración algo antigua y las habitaciones espaciosas y muy confortables. La cama muy cómoda y grande. La habitación también dispone de una cafetera, con su correspondiente café, leche y azúcar; y una nevera. 17 pisos de hotel y sólo 4 ascensores que no son muy rápidos. Atención al cliente muy buena.

This hotel experience was quite an interesting one. After thorough research, I’ve concluded that everything I read was true and I have extra to say about the B.
Let’s start with the issues:
Nothing is free here. Nada. No wifi, charged for printing in the business center, and the continental breakfast is $ 13.
The elevators are small and slow to catch. It’s really a gamble if there’s room for you when the doors open.
You can tell by the rest of the room that things are not up to date: the fridge, small sink, and the mattresses.
Speaking of out date equipment, there was a situation with the hair dryer where it short circuited and shot out fire! Shocking. Literally. We told the front desk and the woman wasn’t phased at all… Must be a recurring issue.
On a positive note, the lobby is very nice, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the location is excellent. We had a nice view from our room.
I wouldn’t stay again and I would reluctantly recommend it if you ask me.

So impressed with this hotel!
My mom and I stayed at the Belvedere Hotel for two nights while staying in NYC. They are located about two blocks from the heart of Times Square, so it’s an easy 3 – 4 minute walk to all the action on one of the busiest places in the US. This hotel is also about a five minute walk to a subway station, and less than a mile walk (about 12 minutes) to Central Park. I liked being a little off the beaten path of the craziness that is Times Square during the evening, so this hotel was perfect for us. There also is a fire station right across the street, so eventually you’ll get used to the sirens… man, this NYC station dispatches a truck every 10 – 15 minutes!
We had a room with a king bed, dresser, TV, a bathroom and a small kitchenette (with a small fridge, coffee pot and microwave). The room was tiny and there was barely enough room to walk around without running into something, but this is NYC, what do you expect?! We were on the top floor of this hotel and we had a GREAT view. I loved it! Room was functional for what we needed it for.
They don’t serve breakfast here, but they do have a café that you can buy food from, which was cool.
I must say that service here was AMAZING. My mom and I had a terrible experience getting from CA to NYC due to flight delays (we were stuck in Dallas for five hours), and because of this, we got into the city and checked into our hotel 5.5 hours after we had planned, and we missed doing what we had planned to do in the city that evening. My boyfriend had called the hotel and asked if he could leave something for us in our room because of this. The hotel said not to worry, and they left a nice bottle of red wine in our room to enjoy (no extra charge!). How amazing! Loved this!
All in all, this was a great hotel and I’d stay here again if I’m in the city again in the future.

Reserved a «suite», and was charged for a suite, but what I stayed in was not a suite, it was a room with a refrigerator and a microwave in a tiny alcove in the front and two beds. A «suite» connotes a space with multiple rooms. This room was not large even by hotel room standards, but it was certainly not a suite.
The bathroom ceiling accumulated water drops oddly and looked questionably clean. The room had a window AC unit that didn’t work particularly well and was obstructed by the curtains, leaving one a choice of trying to block out the light and noise or get cool air. The TV went in and out. The elevators were tiny and slow. I had an eye on using the business center, but given they charge by the minute to do so, thought better of it.
The staff didn’t do anything wrong, and I can’t say that every room is as bad as mine was, and it certainly is a nice location. But it’s really a 1.5 star rating rounded up to 2 because it’s such prime real estate.

Das Belvedere Hotel ist top! Wir hatten noch dazu das Glück einen absoluten Schnäppchenpreis zu haben.
Die Räumlichkeiten sind super. Das Hotel wurde erst kürzlich renoviert und hat einen gediegenen Stil. Die Zimmer haben Bäder aus dunklem Marmor mit goldenen Wasserhähnen. Das mag nciht jeden Geschmack treffen, aber dieser Style passt meiner meinung nach wunderbar zu einer Stadt, die ebenfalls eine wilde Mischung aus Altem und Neuem ist. Aus dem 15ten Stock hat man einen fantastischen Blick über Manhattan.
Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt. Ein Block vom Times Square entfernt und man kommt driekt bei Hershey‘s raus. Also Ideal um auch noch später am Abend einen kleinen Abstecher in die knallbunte Welt der Leuchtreklamen zu unternehmen. Also das Hotel ist absolut empfehlenswert!

A quelques pas de Time Square, du Rockfeller Center, cet hôtel est idéalement situé dans une rue assez calme. Qui plus est une station de métro reliant directement le AirTrain de JFK Airport se situe un bloc plus haut (45mn de l’aéroport au total).
Avec 17 étages le bâtiment est à taille humaine. La chambre, située au dernier étage n’est pas spacieuse une fois que le lit Kingsize, très agréable, y est posé, mais le confort avant tout ! La salle de bain qui est également bien petite mais qui propose une baignoire et un cabinet de toilette est très suffisante.
Le wifi est disponible mais payant. Ceci dit, lors de mon séjour mon iPhone se connectait sans problème, sans avoir à débourser le moindre cent…
Au final cet hôtel, d’un excellent rapport qualité prix, est un très bon point de chute pour un week-​end prolongé dans Big Apple.
