Two stars for the employee who ordered my book for me tonight he was outstanding! However the cashier downstairs gave me such a bad attitude when I didn’t want to sign up for Barnes and Nobles emails. She asked me if I always say no when I told her I don’t want my inbox clogged she said I can always unsubscribe. Won’t be returning to this location.

My favorite BN in Midtown. Large, clean and spacious. This branch is the only one where the book staff is quite literate and always willing to recommend a good read.
Thank you to the book staff! I only wish they could have longer hours.

Below is a message that I sent to B&N yesterday. It expresses my concern about this company. If I could have found a place to do a review on the corporate headquarters, I would have done it there, but I couldn’t. I have not heard from them as of yet. I think their online sales stink.
I almost purchased a Barnes & Noble Membership yesterday, but when I started to make my initial online purchase, I discovered that I cannot make the purchase and pick it up at my local B&N store. Why not! Most local stores such as Walmart, Target, Home Depot, NAPA Auto Parts, to name a few, allow this bringing in revenue for them and savings and convenience for their customers. As long as you have this policy in place, I will never become a B&N member. I think it is sad that B&N is so short sighted and out of touch with current market changes.

This is a huge B&N. I rarely get out of here without buying something.
The café is always crowded.
This location has a nice selection of everything Barnes and Nobles offers. Huge movie and music department.
Books, calendars, and stationary. The routine items. Barnes and Noble is still the largest bookseller.

Love the feeling of walking into a bookstore and discovering new reads. This location is two floors, has a Starbucks, has an amazing selection of books among other things Barnes and Noble sells. Most of the books are upstairs. They usually have the books on sale on display on the tables downstairs. They have a gift wrapping table near the magazine rack for the holidays.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had with a book store. The employees here seem physically incapable of work. They know how to talk, laugh and use their phones, but dont know how to accommodate customers. Don’t try calling either. Their intro takes a minute and you’ll be on hold for 10. Awful.

This is the best place to sit, have a chai and read a book in the café. Don’t ever leave us Barnes & Noble :-)

My favorite Barnes & Noble location. Nobody follows me around because of my skin color. No restrictions on where I sit or how I read. Excellent service and variety of books and gifts.
Very spacious with organized shelves, sections and yummy drinks provided by Starbucks.
Perfect place for «me-​time.»

The employees at the café were rude and not helpful at all. They even got my order wrong. When I went to correct the order, the just dumped it in ice and it is just watered down and nasty. The employees are unhelpful and store doesn’t carry the latest releases. The store is also super hot. I was sweating by just walking around an isle. I have been to a lot of Barnes and Nobles in my life but this is by far the worst one I’ve ever been too. I will NEVER come back.

I was here for about an hour looking for a certain book and just strolling around. It’s not crowded on a Sunday (hot) afternoon though I’m not sure about any other days. I went to the kiosk to find a book and when I stood there staring around for the section the book is located, a staff immediately noticed my lost look of confusion in my face and she asked if I needed help. I’m so glad she found me at that moment or Id be wandering around for a staff whom are very hard to find or seem scarce. I almost feel as if it’s hard to locate them and based on my observation, they probably don’t have a uniform (I could be wrong). Before I needed help and i was just minding my own business, I saw the same guy multiple times around in the second floor walking in and out of doors which I’m 90% sure is a staff strolling around the place like he has something to do with his headphones on and seems to be avoiding eye contact or just people at all costs. What gives?
The cashier was nice and we had a brief interaction where she explained clearly about the B&N card (which I suggest you should get if you’re a frequent shopper). The café is also pleasant and I can tell its sometimes can get over crowded, there’s a nice seating area outside the store downstairs in the lower level. I love this B&N the best compared to the other ones where there’s hardly any seating in the café whereas this one is loaded with it. A good way to open up a newly purchased book to read!

To add: I come here for lunch every now and then, and the staff at the café is so nice– there is one lady in particular who is just one of the kindest, nicest and sweetest people around.
Given how hectic my workday can be, it’s so nice to be able to have bright spots like that during the day, so thank you, Barnes & Noble Café!

The café is NOT a Starbucks although it sells a lot of Starbucks products (plus a lot more lunch items and desserts, such as Cheesecake Factory cheesecake), so if you want your Starbucks fix at a discount, here’s the place.

Not my favorite B&N by far. The staff tries their best to help you, but it’s a hard building layout.
As a person in a wheelchair, I need help to the elevator. The elevator is S-​L-​O-​W. This is not the staff’s fault. It’s the building. The elevator is from the 1900’s it seems. So if you need to run a quick errand, best not to go here.
Also, it’s hard to find staff to help you. Not that they’re not willing, it’s just hard to find them.

I love this Barnes & Noble! I usually come here after work or during my lunch hour to kill some time. They have a huge selection of books and I was able to find the novel that is sold out everywhere. The staff also allows customers to sit on the floor and read which is nice. I do wish B&N would bring back the comfortable chairs though! Really nice Starbucks staff as well.

This place is cool. Good for killing time. It has a bitchin’ Starbucks inside with great service so that is a huge plus!
Book selection is pretty standard. I read more magazines than anything but I love the relationships section. Always feel naughty reading the sex books. Good times!

Good LORD! Don’t come here if you’ve a small child in stroller. They seem very unimpressed that you’ve got one. Like I’m bothering you. I would just like to buy some books for my child. The children’s books, cookbooks, and pretty much everything is on the 2^nd floor. Since taking an escalator up isn’t feasible with a stroller, you’ll have no alternative other than taking this ramshackle old service elevator that is ver, very slow.
If I can make one recommendation? Please please please make it easier for parents to get to the second floor! Its awkward and unnerving when I have to ask an employee for something and get an attitude! Ive been shopping here for YEARS and have never been so embarrassed!
The manager (or company) has to fix the morale and elevator issue!

I´ve been to this store a few times but the last time was the worst time. Why is it so common that stores charge me too much in NY?! That happened at this store as well. I had walked out of the store when looking at my receipt and noticed the cashier had charged me double on an item. I then returned to the store and talked to another cashier. She gave me a refund for the money but the funny thing is that they seem not to care at all. It´s like they are bothered that I come back. Come on, customer service!

Haven’t bought a real book in a while! Downloading to my iPad is usually more convenient and cheaper. Decided to splurge and get a paper bound copy of Amy Tan’s The Valley of Amazement. (I usually want to keep her books.). Glad for the brick and mortar B&N. Miss it!

I’ve been frequenting this B&N store for years. There are many positives — and negatives to it. It’s a gigantic store, so there’s always lots available. However, sometimes it’s hit or miss when it comes to being helped finding anything. And frankly, these days I read from my Nook, so I do much of my browsing and buying on my own. Positive: free wi-​fi, so browsing for Nook books is easy and seamless. Plus, B&N offers free books (on the Nook) for an hour. So if you’re considering a Nook purchase, you can read the book for an hour before deciding if you want to buy it. Nice option. Negative: finding available seating in the joint is difficult to impossible — unless you’re browsing at 10am on a Monday morning. The Starbucks coffee shop that has seating is often packed. So if you can’t find a spot (while enjoying your coffee of course), you’re left to find a spot on the floor. While I suppose it’s nice the staff allows customers to sit wherever there’s a space, I don’t want to sit on the floor while browsing books!
Positive: I like that Starbucks is attached and you can enjoy your coffee order while lounging or book shopping. Negative: this Starbucks is expensive! More so than a regular Starbucks location. You might think B&N is doing you a favor by giving you 10% off your Starbucks order with your B&N store card, but this Starbucks jacks up the price to begin with so your discount only brings down the price to that of a regular Starbucks.

I was in the area and wasn’t ready to go home yet so I decided to stop in here to check out some magazines and look for a new book to read. The place was well organized, a few people on the floor in case you have any questions, the café is right next to magazines and there was no line at the registers.

I don’t have an eReader, so I still go to book stores. Rarely do I buy things, but I do enjoy checking out what is out there. Up the stairs from the vestibule you’ll find the first floor of this location, with the periodicals, Starbucks (which does NOT take Barnes and Noble gift cards — totally separate thing), and the eReader stuff, along with journals and impulse buy stuff. The second floor is the major selection. The layout of the store is a bit odd, but the content is there, and if it’s not there in person you can reserve it online and pick it up in the store. Lots of people come here to read.
The store is clean and well maintained, and is the only of its kind in the area since the closing of that other one a while ago (I can’t even remember it’s name anymore!).
