So I’m sitting here working and hitting up my usual Slacker channels when the music overtook me and forced me to write. It’s hard to believe it’s been over a decade since we lost our homie Big, but still to this day the «Baby Baby» and the «Uh Uhs» rings in my ears daily. The all too recognizable East Coast v. West Coast feud changed the game and ultimately changed the course and direction of hip hop forever. While we can look back on those times and mourn in the losses that we’ve incurred, we can rejoice as fans from the rhymes and lyrics laid down that represent a time. We as fans salute your efforts and your contributions to music history but look forward to the day when you step outside the shadow of the artist that brought you fame and develop true world class A&R’s to carry your label for years to come. With that make sure your kiddies aren’t reading and lets sit back in the cut and acknowledge the genius that was Biggie…
