Had the doner kabob plate with double salad. The kabob was seasoned heavily with nutmeg and that’s about all you could taste. Salad consisted of lettuce, tomatoes, onion and cucumber and was a bit skimpy; who skimps on the salad?!

I was not impressed with the Lentil salad I ordered from here, it came with some sort of soggy pita bread croûton that was absolutely disgusting, so I had to pick them all out by fork. The one thing in the salad that was cooked well were the grilled onions, which was totally skimped on. I guess it was nice that they gave an extra pita, but for 9 $ I would rather walk down to GRK to get a more solid medditeranean meal. I cannot comment on the hummus or baba ghanoughe so I may come back to try those dishes, but I will definitely not be ordering any salads from here again! Oh, and the place needs to be cleaned.

This little joint is perfect for what it is. No frills, authentic Middle Eastern food served quick and with a smile. I’ve patronized this Baba a few times now and have been very satisfied with my meal and portion sizes. Their falafel is a great blend and is always super crispy. Rices are basic, stuffed grape leaves are fantastic, hummus and baba is solid. Prices are a bit steep considering you have a Hummus and Pita Co. a quarter of a mile away serving more food for the same price or perhaps even cheaper, but it’s nice to patronize a smaller business and it’s far closer if you are working closer to the Fulton Street Center. All-in-all, I’d recommend this tiny Middle Eastern place and look forward to coming back for some more super crispy falafel!

I wanted to have something with chicken, hummus and falafel and the guy there recommended a special wrap sandwich that included all, a Shawafel Pita, it was great! My appetite was definitely satisfied, so I will definitely go back and try other items in the menu.

I’ve had two awesome pitas here. The beef and lamb shawarma and lamb kafta was both incredible. My only complaint is that there are no vegetables. Otherwise, the meats in these pitas are fall-off-the-bone tender.

The freshly squeezed orange juice I’ve ordered was spoiled and the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the place is sketchy.

A welcome addition to the lunch spots in FiDi! My husband and I picked up a couple of sandwiches from here and they were absolutely delicious! We had the falafel sandwich and the chicken shawarma. The falafel sandwich was yummylicious, bursting with pickles, garlic, lettuce and just plain yummness. We both loved the toasted bread on the chicken shawarma and the intense flavor of the chicken. They gave us a «spicy» sauce on the side which was flavorful with just the right amount of kick. Overall the place was clean and the staff was very helpful. We both loved our sandwiches and it is definitely a lot of food for the price you pay. They also deliver in FiDi and Battery Park area and are open late. So if you’re in the FiDi area looking for a yum place to grab some lunch or have some dinner delivered, try Baba Ghanouge!

Their spicy felafel is amazing! And super cheap, only $ 5. My favorite lunch in the area.

Good food but very, very slow service. Even if you’re the only person in here you’re waiting a minimum of 15 minutes for your order… compared to Chipotle down the street which can serve about 50 ppl in 15 minutes or 1 in 45 seconds. Good food but not worth the wait.

Ordered online only to find out the restaurant closed early today. Now have to wait until after my meeting to eat. Very frustrated.

Food is fresh and delicious! It’s reasonable price and you won’t spend over $ 10 on a meal. I bought a kafta pita on whole wheat for $ 6.80 I used to buy them at alfanoose for $ 9-$ 10

Food is flavorful and portions are decent but the front always acts dumb when you ask about specials. Yes, I’m talking about the lunch chicken schwarma special that you have out front, that drew my attention. Please don’t charge me the extra $ 2 when I grab the water or soda that’s included in the special advertised outside. I recently came here last week after a several month hiatus and was sad to learn they now charge for hot sauce and other sauces. It does feed a craving but lack of service and attention to specials they have running leave much to be desired.

My husband and I have come into Baba Ghanouge a few times for a late night dinner and we have been so very pleased with the food and service every time. The owners are always so sweet and helpful, they always go that extra mile to make sure that we are enjoying our experience at Baba Ghanouge. The food tastes great and is clean/healthy, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area! The service will definitely keep us coming back in the future.

The food here was so good and decently priced, and the guy who took my order was really sweet. I got beef shawarma on a pita with hummus. I got fries with it too but I really didn’t need to. The shawarma is enough on its own. I took it to go, but there is so much room for seating in the back, if you walk past the cashier on the right.

Stopped in here for lunch the other day as I was in the area. Had the salad with chicken. Good stuff. $ 10 with tax. No complaints.

This Baba Ghanouge is housed in what was formerly a POPEYE’S chicken. The food here makes me wish that it was still a POPEYE’S. In my puppy scolding voice, «Bad Baba Ghanouge! Very, very bad!»

This is a vegan-friendly lunch spot in the Financial District. The food is fresh, healthy, delicious and fairly priced. Service is fast, efficient and friendly. They accept American Express($ 5 min) and they don’t use styrofoam containers. I was surprised to see some reviewers mentioned slow service, I have never had that problem here and their fast service is one if the reasons I usually choose to go here over another neighborhood favorite for Middle Eastern fare, Alfanoose. If you love Middle Eastern fast food(hummus, tabouli, lentil soup, etc.) or you are looking for a new healthy lunch spot with vegetarian options, it is definitely worth a try.

New location that replaced Popeyes. Slow service but I expect they’ll get better. Guy at the register got pissy because I asked to see the actual size of their small. Buddy, the faster you show me the quicker we can move on. Don’t give me lip. I had the strawberry punch smoothie which was pretty good, all the other smoothies look good as well. I’ll be trying all of them. The prices here are pretty good in comparison to Alfanoose which is in the area as well. The Tabbouli here is not as good as Alfanoose, but that’s my preference. I like everything finely chopped, they serves theirs chunkier. Anyhow, glad there’s an additional lunch spot in the FiDi.

DAmn! WAs almost first to review but it didn’t come up yesterday. Anyway. I have walked by and seen the new sign for a couple of days. As I was sitting in the starbucks across the street I stared at it again and figured I should go in and try. To my surprise it was their grand opening. They had food trays handing out samples and balloons every where. Hmmmm what to order. They claim this is healthy eating but it most certainly is not. I did see although a section for fresh smoothies which was surprising and have great prices($ 3.95). I picked the Shawafel. It says it is falafel with chicken and lamb i believe. I saw there are pickles in there and after regaining my composure at gagging at the thought of a pickle I order minus those nasty little rotting cucumbers. Food came and I sat down at one of the small high table near the door which was freezzzing on this cold rainy day. I open up the wrap and already see pickles coming out. Thank goodness I didn’t bite in. NOrmally I don’t speak up but I’m happy I did. I brought it back and said I asked for no pickles. He retold my order and said right away! I did feel horrible that he took the wrap and threw it right into the garbage. what a waste. I felt guilty. Sandwich came and they gave me a free dessert for the mistake so sweet. I ate it was falafel with chicken and bites of lettuce. It was good. The dessert was sweet flakey rolls I“m not sure what it was. When I was done they offered to take the tray for me and the whole staff seemed to wave to me as I left. Perhaps they knew I was planning on Unilocaling… hmmm strange. hahaha Great little place so far for for middle eastern fast food. I will try a smoothie soon!
