B&H Photo-Video-Pro Audio

This was my first purchase from B&H so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my order was processed and shipped what seemed like immediately, packaging was excellent and my product arrived in perfect condition. Would also to like to add that what I ordered was near $ 100 cheaper through B&H than any other website I found (and on some sites, there was more than a $ 100 difference). Will definitely purchase from B&H again.

This updated review isn’t for B&H at large, but for the embodiment of B&H customer service in particular. This is a customer’s accolade of Henry Posner himself — the B&H guy tasked with dealing with all the nonsense social media commentary that is directed towards B&H.
At the time of this update, there are 1009 Unilocal reviews. Expectedly, most are accurately positive. Naturally, with a target as big as B&H, you’re going to read a lot of hater commentary as well. Henry Posner is respectful and artful in dealing with legitimate AND clearly illegitimate reviews alike.
B&H — companies in 2016 ought to study your model and adopt many of your practices. You’ve NAILED customer service & satisfaction — whether online, on the phone or in person.
I recently bought a used Canon 2x ii teleconverter. It arrived as expected. B&H is the ONLY online vendor from whom I purchase new AND used equipment (85mm 1.2, 24 – 70 2.8, 70 – 200 2.8 — and that’s just a few). I feel foolish even complimenting this purchase at risk of folks assuming that the dozens of my purchases before this were any different.
Henry Posner — since I’m confident you’re going to read this — please know that this B&H enthusiast is a big fan of yours and recommends any outfit wanting to upgrade their own social media management staff to watch and learn from you.
Folks — if you’re unfamiliar with B&H, suffice it to know that there is no better.

I’ve been a loyal customer since the early 80s. I remember waiting for the large shutterbug catalog to come in the mail so I can look at the few pages of B&H ads listed inside.
At one point eBay became the place to find deals but I soon learned the few saving were not worth the risk of gray market junk you put yourself at risk.
To order from B&H is hassle free from beginning to end. The new checking out system is fast and easy. I’ve never lost a package and as a bonus when that B&H box shows up you can’t help but feel like a kid at Christmas all over again.
Products are always first quality and covered by proper guarantees. I’ve just never had a problem.
Also how many companies can you say when you call with a concern you reach a dedicated expert located in New York and not outsourced. That means a lot to me. They understand my issue.
Be careful of the competition in the camera world. Look at the reviews. I’ve never used the other guys but the reviews show difficulty at the customer service end.
On a personal level I’ve had a health set back and the team at B&H made me feel like family.
How can such a large growing company still care about each little customer?
I’m not religious but I respect they they put their beliefs ahead of commerce. I can wait a day extra if I have to. It’s kind of refreshing.
One day I hope to visit the New York location and thank them personally as well as max out my credit card lol.
I am very proud to be a life long customer and hope it continues for as long as I can hold my eye to the viewfinder.

They have every thing a photographer needs. Great selection of all types of camera equipment. It’s reminds me of cameras stores in Japan.

Worst customer car and return service. Dont buy nothing. I shipped back a defective smartphone and they said they lost the item and did not refund my 300 $. This is not a trustable website.

This place is without a doubt my favorite store in the city… It is definitely the one stop shop for your electronic, photo, video and myriad of other products shop!
What I truly love about B&H is the knowledge that the employees have and their willingness to give it to the consumer. They will and have always spent as much time with me as needed to make the right product choice.
Let me say again that these employees are the friendliest most willing team I have ever seen assembled under one roof. They always give me an answer to a question and each team member will ask other team members for assistance if they feel someone else can better assist me.
The prices are fair, their internet shopping is the best for quick service and exceptional customer service by phone, if needed.
Truly a FIVE STAR (should be 10) on the list. This place is even worth a visit if you’re just passing through NYC.

The store is huge and offers a great variety of cameras, printers, phones and other electronics.
This is the place to go if you want a good price for a camera and film. I bought the Fuji Instax Mini 8 which was $ 69.95, and other stores/​websites sell it for much more. Also the film for this camera is usually $ 10 for 10 shots, but I bought 20 shots for $ 15.99 at B&H so it’s a great bargain!

Bought a camera bundle package through them. The contents were listed on the web site, but the confirmation I received had a different (and smaller) list of contents. I replied to my order confirmation and asked about the discrepancy. In the mean time, the bundle was deleted from their web site. Hmm…
Went back and forth with their «Customer Service» department, and then they finally accused me of falsifying the bundle contents in the inquiry email I sent. Seems pretty dishonest to me. They could go back to the staff that maintains the web site to get the prior content. There should be a log of changes. Any well run organization would have this.
Last time I’ll ever buy from B&H Photo again.
UPDATE AS OF 12/​15/​2015
Finally someone did the right thing! They wound up shipping me the other items from the bundle. As an added bonus (and frankly an unexpected surprise), they gave me a partial refund since the price of the items I purchased dropped right after I ordered. Much happier now and updated my rating from 1 to 5 stars.

Best place ever for camera, video and accessories, even for resale (their offer exceeded my expectations by FAR).
Also, staff everywhere extremely polite and trained.
Online orders ship very fast (or as promised).

I’ve made an order of a smartphone through their website.
They promised 1 – 3 days for delivery, which means I should have get it by yesterday (this was the same information their representative gave me on the phone before placing the order).
They didn’t even sent it to delivery yet, and their representative told me they hope they will send it by tomorrow (yesterday they promised to send it out for delivery by yesterday evening).

Thee best camera /​video cam/​audio store for all levels from hobbyist to pro! They have everything audio — video, best most knowledgable service and will match the best price if you find a better price than theirs.
I have bought all of my photo, video, audio equipment from here for years. Gifts for my son as well.
They have the most informed knowledgable staff — always so helpful and educated about what is best for very specific needs and experience levels — whether amateur, semi pro or pro: You state your needs, wants, preferences, and their staff will tell you exactly what’s best for you and why. When I call them or go in having done some research, they always know exactly where I stand and what’s best and can give detailed explanations why specific products will best meet my needs. Tell them your price range and needs and they will give you best options for you and packaged deals.
I also like that while extremely knowledgable they are not pushy and stay within your budget … add ons they recommend are things you need or should have…
They are honest and really helpful. I always trust B&H will have the products, honest dependable service and best prices for all audio visual needs.
And — seeing how efficiently run this store is — what an experience… this store is incredible !

It’s like Candy Land but with Electronics!
Entering B & H can be rather overwhelming, but don’t worry, an associate will see your confused face and point you in the right direction (there are signs everywhere too, but sometimes we need a little human interaction!).
Came in here to look at cameras, sure there are a million reviews online– but I wanted to actually see the product in person, hold it, play with its features, etc.
B & H was in full swing when I arrived on a Sunday. I made my way to the cameras and received a very warm greeting from Kristin. I told her the model I was interested in and she happily started going into the features and comparing it to other models, etc. She was very pleasant, informative, and answered all my questions. I also didn’t feel any pressure from her to buy right then and there (I did anyway, but she didn’t give me the sleazy salesman pitch).
Buying anything from B & H is kind of like going to the DMV: first checkpoint, get a slip, second checkpoint verify your products (they have this awesome dumbwaiter/​conveyer belt system, the whole places moves like Santa’s workshop-​Fernando who went over everything with me was also very nice and struck up a conversation with me) third checkpoint– pay (and there’s also an associate directing you to which payment line, etc. B & H goes the extra mile to run this place very efficiently). Fourth checkpoint-​PICK UP YOUR NEW CAMERA!
Overall, B & H is a great place if you’re interested in any type of electronic device, the store is clean, organized, and the customer service is impeccable. Of course, if you’re making a large purchase like I did, certainly do your research. Also, give yourself extra time to navigate the store and check the products out, like I mentioned before it can be a little overwhelming at first, but there are many eager employees eager to help you out!

Very disappointed…
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been purchasing photo /​video gear from B&H Photo’s online website and have usually had great experiences. I’ve even recommended them to others. However, this recent experience has really made me reconsider using them for future purchases…
I ordered a used 5D Mark I from their website back at the beginning of July. B&H guarantees the quality and working condition of all their used products, so I assumed I’d be okay. After only minimal use with the camera, the mirror broke and fell out in the middle of a shoot. This is not supposed to happen. The shoot was completely ruined for me.
I returned the camera and was promised it would be fixed quickly and returned to me. After a long wait, the camera was returned to me. I brought it to a shoot and after only a FEW uses, it broke again in the exact same way. Another shoot was ruined for me because of a faulty product from this website.
I spoke to customer service about this as I was very upset, they were very understanding, apologetic and even promised to send me a new camera instead of just fixing the same one again. I felt relieved.
After a bit of a wait, I received the new camera. However, upon inspecting the body, I noticed that it was missing several screws and the body was actually coming apart at places. This is an unacceptable condition to have sent me the camera in and was CLEARLY not inspected properly. I’ve now had 2 shoots completely ruined and 3 broken cameras shipped to me from this website.
I may give them another shot, and update my review later, like I said, I’ve had great experiences with them in the past. But right now I am in serious doubt of whether I will order from them again and certainly feel like I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else.

Left bad taste in my mouth…
For years I shopped here, mostly online as I live in California. Finding the products I need and the at okay prices as been good so far. The selection is good. However I have not had great experiences with customer service. They answer questions quickly and promptly so, if that is all you needed– it’s great.
They fail however when it comes to customer satisfaction when there is a problem. I am a portrait photographer and all my recent shows have been using the same frame, a frame that I buy at B&H. Recently however some have started to arrive broken, just the glass. I did an exchange, then a return. I would say 2 – 3 frames I had to go thru customer service with. This is out of maybe a dozen or so. I even just kept a few because I found it faster to just go buy a cheap frame and use the glass from it.
Today I was informed that I am the only customer who seems to report broken glass on this frame and I will no longer be allowed to return or exchange from them. It went from a simple LIVE CHAT inquiry to feeling like I was the suspect in some scam. Like I made this crap up, I don’t see the motive or the benefit as I don’t want a shattered frame. I have never been accused like this from a company before.
By the end of the conversation he seemed to back track his statements and said if I return this one they will go ahead and continue to honor my returns. WTF, it just made me mad because I even kept a couple and ate the costs. I get it, shipping glass comes at a risk, so how is it my fault that I paid for something and expect it to be usable.
I dunno, I may give them another shot, and update my review later– but in the mean time I am going to see if I can find another company. I have 3 shows coming up, and don’t need the headache or accusations.

Hands down to the best camera store in NYC! I don’t know a lot about cameras in general, but the clerks were extremely helpful and patient in asking the purpose I needed a camera for and explaining the different items available.
The store is huge and has stations for each camera’s brand. The clerks were really nice in redirecting me to different stations. Because of its popularity, many tourists, foreigners and curious people step inside just to visit the place. I find it hard to find the place empty. Even on weekdays it is a bit busy.

Awesome place to buy electronics.

The sellers are knowledgeable about their products and they provide useful suggestions most of the times.
Their checkout process is good. They do not have you carry the products, they bring them to you at the exit.

Wowzer, the mecca of electronics!
I am glad my friend who is a photographer came with me to purchase my camera because I think I may have been lost. After some time of doing research I finally decided to go purchase my camera. I think that made this transaction smooth because I went right to the source.
I checked out the Canon station and the girl behind the counter helped me with my questions and gave me an understanding on rebates, printers, etc. Then I had to go to the next time to order my camera and add accessories if needed. Finally went to the first floor to pay which the girl behind that counter was accretive and quick.
The finally stop was the pick up station where the gentleman behind there was probably the nicest. The whole process was smooth and flawless you even get to see how cool and fast they move the items in a basket onto the next station.
Highly recommend coming here for any camera/​electronic, etc. Also, they validate your parking ticket depending on how much you spend at the store. The parking lot is on 34^th street between 8^th and 9^th.

Was soooo ready to give a 5 star review. I bought a used Canon Rebel T5i at an amazing price (still, not cheap!) and in almost perfect condition. Almost.
Unbenownst to me, the camera’s memory card reader was defunct and subsequently led me back to the store to rectify. Very stressful day before my vacation! I specifically bought this camera to take with me.
Due to the poor quality assurance, I wasted a majority of my day to go back to the store and exchange it. Luckily they had the same model.
Customer service and the range of products are top notch, but I was really really disappointed when they sold me a defected camera.
I will continue to shop here, but will be very careful wth the used products.

Einen Tag nach unserem traumatisierenden Einkaufserlebnis bei Willoughbys an der 5^th av, verschlug es uns auf dem Fußweg zur Highline an diesen Ort…
Groß, vollgestopft mit Equipment, gefühlt sehr altmodisch… Mit einen System dass ein Mitteleuropäer nicht sofort verstehen konnte.
Keine Ahnung wie gut hier die Beratung ist, aber die Etwas grimmig wirkendem Mitarbeiter hinter den Countern arbeiteten schnell und effizient, sie hatten alles da und die Preise waren sehr gut…
An der Kasse gab es dann noch einen Nachlass, so dass ich am Ende weit weniger bezahlte als vermutet…
Vielleicht lag es am Wetter oder am gruseligen Shoppingerlebnis vom Vortag, aber diesen b+h würde ich jederzeit weiterempfehlen vor allem für Touristen die hier nur verbrauchsmaterial benötigen, wie Speicherkarten, Akkus oder Objektivdeckel…

B&H est tout simplement le meilleur magasin d’électronique de NYC, voir des US, voir du monde entier! Je n’ai pas vu d’équivalent. Même Surcouf à l’époque né faisait pas aussi bien.
Dans ce magasin, on trouve abslument toutes les références, au meilleur prix. Pas de crainte de se faire arnaquer, d’acheter de la contrefaçon ou de la contrebande. Tout est clair.
Il y a beaucoup de vendeurs disponibles et connaissant parfaitement leur métier donc on évite les erreurs.
Attention, comme c’est central et qu’il a excellente réputation, il y a un monde fou donc né soyez pas surpris par la cohue.
Enfin, regardez bien les horaires, comme le magasin est tenu par des juifs orthodoxes, il est ouvert en semaine décalée: fermé le samedi et ouvert le dimanche. Fermé pour les principales fêtes juives.
Si vous allez à NYC, né ratez pas l’opportunité de passer les voir, ça vaut vraiment le coup!

C’est simple, je m’adresse à vous photographes, si vous entrez dans ce magasin, vous n’en ressortirez pas indemne… enfin plutôt, vous ressortirez les sacs plein et le porte monnaie bien vidé !
Mais attention, vous aurez fait de sacrées bonnes affaires et en plus vous aurez essayer tout ce que vous vouliez !
Oui, ici vous deviendrez fou. Il faudra vous retenir de né pas craquer si vous avez déjà fait des folies à NYC.
Le rez-​de-​chaussez se compose principalement de matériel informatique, vidéo mais également du matériel de studio. Le premier étage, lui, est exclusivement réserver à la photo.
Cela va du petit stylo pour nettoyer vos objectifs (oui oui, c’est toujours utile d’en avoir un deuxième :p), aux objectifs les plus fous. Vous trouverez vraiment tout ce que vous cherchez et surtout ce qui vous fait rêver.
Les vendeurs sont adorables, ils déballent même les accessoires pour que vous puissiez les essayer sur votre propre appareil. Je né parle pas non plus des objectifs, que vous pouvez tous essayer.
J’ai adoré aussi leur système de tapis roulants au dessus de votre tête ! Toutes les commandes se baladent dans des caisses sur des rails, et votre commande est prête lorsque vous arriver en caisse.
Bref, je pourrais parler des heures de ce magasin, je rêverai d’avoir le même en France (avec bien sûr des vendeurs aussi gentils qui né cherchent pas à tout prix à se faire une commission sur votre dos!)
Soyez sûr que si vous chercher du matériel photo (et aussi high tech), c’est ici qu’il faut aller à NYC. Leur site internet donne un très bon aperçu de la quantité de produits qu’ils proposent.

Ce magasin abrite un système vraiment bien rodé, tout un réseau de tapis roulant (?), des consignes à sacs à dos.
Les vendeurs en kippa (oui oui) sont souriants et sympathiques, les conseillers compétents et disponibles.
La sélection est large et bien fournie.
Rien a redire, ce magasin est vraiment cool. (Et c’est comme ça que je me suis retrouvée à acheter un trépied de 2kg qui prend la moitié de ma valise, oui)

Ce magasin, en plus de proposer des tarifs attractifs pour nous autres français, constitue un véritable spectacle :
1. Chorégraphie des chariots au plafond qui amènent les paquets au bon guichet
2. Tout le matériel dont vous rêvez est là, visible, à portée de main…
3. Personnel qui s’y connait réellement
Je n’ai pas eu de chance, l’article que je convoitais était en rupture de stock mais je né regrette absolument pas ma visite au B&H !

J’y étais début septembre, j’y suis retourne deux jours après
Pour ceux qui né savent pas a quoi ressemble un magasin (non un supermarché) de la photo, hifi, informatique, bref hightech, il faut absolument y faire un tour (si vous êtes a NY, évidemment!).

Wer hier einmal war wird in Deutschland deprimiert jeden Elekteohandel verlassen.
Hier bekommt man nahezu alles aus der Welt der Elektronik, sowie Zubehör und Ersatzteile und dazu kompetente Beratung (auch für internationale Versicherungen oder kostenlose Nachlieferung nach DE) durch die Mitarbeiter, was man aus Deutschland eindeutig nicht gewohnt ist.
Der Einkauf wir im entsprechenden Fachbereich an einer Art Vorkasse vom Mitarbeiter eingescannt und in das über dem Kopf der Kunden laufende Boxnensystem geladen. Beim Zahlen am Ausgang (vergl. Mit dt. Großhandelsketten) wird von der Kassiererin nur die Quittungen der Einzelnen Boxen eigescannt und während dem Zahlvorhang kommen die Boxen über das Laufbahn zur Kasse (Preise und Versicherungen sind ja bereits eingescannt).
Klingt kompliziert, sorgt aber für reibungslose Abläufe.
Dazu sind die Produkte z. B des großen Handyherstellers mit dem Apfel unschlagbar günstig und durch Aktionen zusätzlich Reduziert.
Die Kombination aus Produktpalette, Service und der Einkaufsboxen machen diesen Elekteohandel für mich schon fast zu einer Sehenswürdigkeit.

Le temple de la photo à NYC !!! A né pas manquer. C’est immense, plein de monde, énormément de vendeurs, mais une organisation redoutable. Service impeccable.

Für Elektrofans ein absolutes Traumland. Hier gibt es für den Bereich der optischen Elektronik alles. Leider ein bisschen ab vom Schuss hinter der Penn Station. Für Fans aber den Weg wert.

Es un buen lugar donde te puedes comprar una buena video camara o camara de fotos a un buen precio. Unos amigos se les rompio su camara y por suerte descubriron este lugar donde les atendieron de marvilla y encima se compraron una buena camara a un buen precio.

Une de mes adresses qui ma rendu complètement folle pour cause je suis rester 2h à l’interieur à voir, et essayé les produits.
Du p. c à la photo, et j’en passé, vous aurez la tête en pastèque!!! Les vendeurs sont très présent et font preuvent de professionnalisme pour vous aidez à choisir un bon produit et vous proposent des compromis entre qualité et prix.
Ce magasin est très bien agencé autant que leur site internet toujours à la page
