Authentic

So, so sub par. I ordered a dijon chicken salad. The dish was cold as a bone and so much more quinoa than «toppings» i.e. things with flavor. Not enough dressing for what was in the bowl. Just really unbelievably underwhelming and I have a huge amount of unappetizing quinoa left over. Why was this ~$ 14? And what’s up with the cold popcorn?

Don’t know why the reviews are so bad but I LOVE this place — ordered this on seamless every single day during my summer internship. The quinoa bowls are the BEST — I usually get it with lobster salad, ahi tuna, avocado, corn, mango, shitakke mushrooms, arugula and chia seeds. My favourite combo!

Great quinoa bowls. Our office usually orders from Authentic for Friday lunch. We place the order promptly at 11:00am and it arrives around 12:30pm.
Sweet Tuna Sesame & Avocado Quinoa Bowl — Love it! The tuna was fresh and seared nicely, and paired well with the toasted sesame seeds. I was expecting the mango to be sour, but it was surprisingly sweet. I would definitely order this again.
Goddess Verde Salad — One of their best salads. That green goddess tahini dressing is definitely on point.
Immunity Hot Shot — Too hot for me to handle.
Make Your Own Juice — Apple, pear, and ginger. Love, love, love.

I’ve been ordering from this place A LOT this past few weeks and have never had a waiting problem as badly as today. I love the arugula salads and even though the store sometimes mess up the toppings or forget to include 1 of the free 4 toppings you can pick from ($ 14 total), I always found excuses to forgive their mistakes.
Let me give you a run down of my timeline with Authentic today (Monday, 2÷8÷2016)
6:00PM placed a Seamless order of a make-​it-​yourself arugula salad, a gomacro bar and a bottle of water
6:27PM received a call from the store telling me that they had run out of the gomacro bar I wanted, so I switched it for another one
6:57PM call to check on the status of my order and was told that my order would arrive within 5 minutes
7:13PM called again to check on my order and was told the delivery guy needed 7 more minutes (this turned out to be false)
7:26PM 1.5hrs later, I FINALLY got my food. I’m hangry but proud of myself for not yelling at any of Authentic people I’ve talked to today

THE QUINOA BOWLS ARE AMAZING. Enough said. I kept thinking about how good my bowl was even the day afterwards. My coworkers and I decided to order from this place to detox ourselves from all the fatty food from the beginning of the week.
They have soooo many quinoa bowls to choose from, and you can even make your own! I decided to get the Thai chicken bowl and a mint chocolate smoothie. All of their smoothies and milkshakes come in really cute mason jars for you to keep!
The only downside from this place is that it does take a while for them to deliver. The estimated delivery time was 25 – 35 minutes and it delivered after an hour. With that being said, I would plan accordingly when placing your order. Also, the food is on the more pricey side, but it was good nevertheless. I’m definitely going to order again to try more of their quinoa bowls!

I cannot believe this place only has two stars. I order from here on a weekly basis and I have never been disappointed.
Items to get: The best things to get from here are salads, sandwiches, juices & smoothies. Honestly you can’t go wrong with any salad. My favs are the Bangkok Chop, Cedar Plank Salmon, Sesame Seared Wasabi Yellowfin, and the Chile Chicken. I can’t speak for their sushi (as I only order sushi from sushi/​japanese restaurants).
Prices can be a little higher than what you’re used to but you are paying for quality. Seafood is excellent quality for the price.
Juices are fresh and delicious. Try the Veg Hedge or the Green Complex #7.
Additionally — they always send a bag of popcorn (kind of cute) and bread with the soups. Soups are BIG.
Overall, I love this place and will continue to be a regular customer.

Takes FOREVER for delivery. Never accurate to estimated delivery time on seamless… but I love that tuna bowl

The food took over two hours to deliver. I called twice to check on the order, and both times they said the order was on its way. After the food arrived more than an hour and a half after the latest possible time, Authentic didn’t offer anything to make up for an inexcusable delay. Do not order from this place, it’s awful, with bad employees, bad management, bad food and no integrity.

PSA: DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.
So I completed a Unilocal sin and ordered from here without checking out the reviews. Not only did delivery come a horrible 35 minutes late but the food is DISGUSTING!!! and cold. Even the presentation was less than appealing. Do not order from here. The picture of the cricket in the salad should say it all.

I got a seasonal plate with tandoori chicken, cauliflower «wings,» and the marinated artichokes. They were kind enough to put it atop lettuce instead of quinoa as I requested.
The chicken was decent, the artichokes were amazing, and the cauliflower «wings» had nothing to do with chicken wings, and were ok. (I’ve had amazing cauliflower-​based buffalo wings at other places, so I was expecting something along those lines).
I will give them props for sourcing chicken from Freebird, which is (fairly) humanely raised, but Dig Inn (which uses Freebird chicken as well) is cheaper and better.
Delivery time was acceptable (to Midtown East in the evening on a weekday) — about 10 min past Seamless’s estimated range.

Authentic has gone down the drain — I would give it a ZERO star if I could. After a pleasant lunch experience about a year ago (see my previous review), I decided to order from Authentic again — what a terrible mistake.
I got the create-​your-​own Arugula Salad with New England Lobster Salad ($ 3 extra) and four free toppings of brussel sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, medjool dates, and portobello mushroom. I added beets and soy marinated tempeh.
The delivery took about 40 minutes. The salad literally had a SPOONFUL of the lobster salad. Are you kidding me? It was also missing shiitake mushrooms, had only two dates, and a tiny bit of the beets on the side. I liked the marinade on the tempeh, but there wasn’t very much.
Don’t order from here.

Do not order here! Had to wait 1.5 hs for delivery (was expected 40 min), food arrived shapeless from bad handling during delivery and sushi with only one soy sauce packet.
You should either hire better delivery guys, outsource delivery or stop receiving delivery orders at all.

similar to other reviews, the delivery is awful. It took over one and a half hours to get my order when the delivery estimate was 25 mins. When I called an hour later, they told me the food would get to my office in 10 mins… I waited another 30.
Service is also awful and not accommodating. They didn’t really care that the delivery was late and were not apologetic. Furthermore, they wouldn’t let me cancel my order and get a refund after waiting an hr. Definitely avoid this place if you want to avoid stratification.

I’ve ordered from Authentic via seamless several times in the past and never had a problem with the delivery or quality of food. Unfortunately, it seems that good times don’t last
Ordered a sandwich and a portion of the «Spicy RedRub Slant Shack Jerky» today.
Opened the jerky to find generous RedRub all over the jerky but with an somewhat unappetizing white mold on one corner
Called Authentic to inform them. After the mandatory 2 minute wait, an employee on the warpath with a strong resolve to burst my eardrums decided to prove that I was wrong and insisted that the batch expired only in Feb 2016 and that the WHITE MOLD was the REDRUB spice coating.
I had taken a photograph and offered to send it over but apparently I was clearly mistaken and she was right because «SIR (shout followed by exasperated sigh) beef jerky cannot get mold.» and that was the end of it.
I’ll leave you enlightened folks to come to your own conclusions, as it’s now time for my color blindness test.

Absolutely do not order from here, it’ll be a horrible experience. Have been waiting nearly 2 hours for food now, was told it would be here 45 minutes ago after calling.

The food itself was good quality, and a decent-​ish portion. However, the food was delivered — on time — but cold. A hot meal of meat, starch, and veg should arrive with at least some semblance of having once been hot.

By far my favorite juice place that delivers. I find the prices normal for the area, and the Mexican corn chowder has always been amazing. I can speak on the size vs price of the salads though. Only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because of their hours. They are missing out on a HUGE demographic of actors, musicians, and crew like myself that want to have great healthy options available on Broadway.

I love Authentic for healthy delivery at work. Its pricey but so good and good for you.
This is my go to place for when I want to spend a bunch of money on a healthy lunch.
I love the house made salad dressings.
The lemongrass chicken sandwich is one of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten.

I got the Louisiana gumbo and bacon mac and cheese. The gumbo was good but thin — not the thick consistency of traditional gumbo, with tons of fillings, veggies and sausage. It was more or less broth with a few pieces of sausage, one piece of shrimp, and maybe a few grains of rice. Bacon mac and cheese was cold by the time it got to me, so I can’t judge how it might have been if it were hot. Probably tastier, but not a real «bacon» mac and cheese. Mine had maybe a few shreds of bacon.
Plus is that everything comes with free popcorn.

I only order from Authentic when I can expense it (holla!) In that case, with no financial cost to me, Authentic is awesome. The food is fresh, well seasoned, nice variety of toppings on the salads. I like that they give you popcorn with the salad (did they stop doing this?) Great healthy option in Midtown, particularly when free.
