Probably the worst customer service ever. Never have I ever come across someone so inconvenienced by having to do their job. Didn’t even make it halfway through the order before turning around and walking out. Apparently everyone they have is pre packed and frozen too? Steer clear of this place.

This is a very dirty café but has a clean restroom!.. Oh and stay clear of the broccoli cheddar soup because that might get you sick(like me)… Hey. at least I got some complimentary crackers! Well, I thought I ordered a «small» soup container but got charged for a «large» which is whatever since it is the city. What really turned me off was that I waited for a really long time for the cashier to show up at the register and then someone yelled from the back at her asking where she’s at. Poor girl. The utensils are right next to the trash can and the thing is overflowing. I felt bad for the lady that was sitting next to it. She was literally right next to the trash can. The seating area was very packed because they stuffed the tables in a very small area.

This location is just ok. The bread sticks were pretty slim pickings during lunch and the man making salads was gruff, and easily annoyed. I asked for no tomatoes on my salad… He acted as if this was a huge inconvenience for him. Oh well. The girl at the cashier was very sweet and helpful. All the tables were very clean as well as the soup area.

Great coffee and delicious sandwiches. Service can be hit or miss. Sometimes they’re difficult to track down, especially when you’re ready to pay but you can’t seem to find an employee on the floor. Quality of both food and coffee are decent and worth the price.

I had a great experience here today and I will be back! Everyone was very friendly, even though it was early in the morning. The place wasn’t crowded. I ordered the Salmon Wasabi on an everything bagel. It has cream cheese, cucumbers and lox. So good! The bagel sandwich was about $ 4.85. I used to go to Au Bön Pain in PA all the time too, and the quality is consistent. I love the turkey cubano — but watch out for the calories and fat in that! I stopped getting it because it’s just too much. Their salad are tasty and fresh, too. Also, I love that their eggs are real eggs — they don’t look scrambled or sketchy.

My love of Au Bön Pain spans years. Blame it on the deliciousness of their chocolate croissants. But I have to say that just about anything that I’ve tried here has been good — especially the sandwiches. I’ve visited several of their locations and this one had the best service in my experience. Ample seating is a nice touch and the staff is always friendly. Great soup options too with some healthier choices which is a nice touch. The only thing I’m not a fan of is their coffee — which is surprising since I am a big time coffee lover. But everything else is great and with as many choices as they offer, you really can’t go wrong here.

Stopped in to pick up a sammich to go along with my soup. There was a slight wait since only one person was taking/making orders, but my grilled cheese with bacon was hot and delicious. I always think of Au Bön as breakfast only and I have no idea why. They offer some quality choices at a below average price.

Employees were very unfriendly and not helpful in anyway. For whatever reason when it was your turn to order you were told to go get your own bread from the display case on the other side of the store. You would then have to get out of line to go get your bread and when you got back the employees were already making someone else’s sandwich. Everyone had to wait in line twice to have your sandwich made. Every customer in the store was irritated by the process and the attitude of the workers.

This place was horrible! I ordered a chicken caprese and then a couple minutes later they tell me there’s no chicken. I say it’s fine and then continue to wait. After another 5 minutes they tell me they don’t have the bread for it, so they make me choose another bread. When it finally comes it has arugula on it which it didn’t say it would have. Ugh

The one day I came here, I couldn’t believe the service. You have one guy taking orders and making sandwiches and when he asks for help from another employee, he got nothing but eye rolls and attitude, which then resulted in him doing the same. Highly unprofessional, but I can definitely see where this one guy was coming from. I placed my order 3 times, each time asking for no tomato or lettuce, and of course, you know it, I got a heaping amount of tomato and lettuce. At this point, after waiting 10+ minutes, I just wanted to get out. Of course, that would prove to be another issue. A long line of 5+ customers, with one register open. It’s every person’s nightmare on their lunch break, especially when they are hungry. Get it together. This is one of the smaller locations, but they still service a very busy area. My sandwich was okay because it was freshly made, but all the packaged and pre cooked food looked sketchy. There were also a ton of employees«behind the scenes» so not really sure why there weren’t more people making sandwiches or at the registers.

All the staff here is very lackluster. Staff member behind the counter was rude when taking our order. He made it seem as if we were taking up his time. Everyone else just seemed drained. Totally different vibe from Boston’s ABP.

After going to multiple Au Bön Pains to find one that had customizable salads instead of ready-made ones in the fridge, I found this location. I ordered a veggie salad with five toppings and free bread. It was delicious and had the perfect ratio of ingredients. I did find it strange how many random other kinds of lettuce was in it even though I ordered baby spinach. The workers were nice. The woman making my salad made an effort to make it the way I wanted. When she saw they were low on the vinaigrette, she offered to use the packet people take from the fridge for to-go orders. The place is large with plenty of spacious seating inside as well as outside. It was definitely a comfortable lunch.

This Au Bön Pain is great place to go when you are looking for a quick lunch or afternoon snack. They have excellent sandwiches which they make fresh and also salads. I really appreciate the veterinarian and vegan options, not many chains pay attention to this. This location in particular is quite great. There were a lot of people there(because they know a good thing). Staff was very nice and helpful. The manager, I think his name was Stu, came over and asked us how our food was. He was so cheery it made our entire experience great, thanks Stu! Also, I ate one of the best muffins I´ve ever had!

Just stopped in for a cup of tea and to get some work done before a meeting. Location was clean and the employees were friendly. Was there at about 5:00pm, so the café was pretty empty. This location is convenient. Not sure how busy it gets during the morning/lunch time. But it was very clean!

Just came back from a visit tonight, and I must say the staff are absolutely wonderful! They were humorous and genuine, charming, but professional. Food was great. My preferences were solicited and staff was careful preparing my food. Really, a surprisingly good experience. I left smiling!

Looking for a quick, inexpensive and a plethora of choices, this is your place! We ducked in on our way to Central Park and were cheerfully greeted. We both had custom bagel breakfasts and both were really good. The avocado egg white bagel sandwich was fresh, not greasy and the latte I ordered was really good too. The chicken sausage and egg bagel my hubby got was cooked just right and he enjoyed his as well. The line grew fast, but the staff knew how to move fast and get them back to where they were going. Very impressive.

I’ve found the secret of escaping the sad food options of Midtown East. Hop on the subway and take it two stops downtown to… Midtown West! Believe it or not, Au Bön Pain is a much better option than the slim delis, two closed down Chinese restaurants, and the Ray’s Pizza around me. I walked in and it was glorious, new looking, clean, with lots of tables, two bathrooms, and free Wi-Fi that works really well! All sandwiches are made to order and the bakery and soup is self serve. I settled on their new toasted flatbread sandwich of organic turkey, arugula, lemon aioli, bacon, and cheddar. It was pretty good and didn’t fall apart considering they built it like a soft taco. For dessert, I bought a chocolate croissant. The croissant was definitely one of the better ones I have had in the City. It was packed with chocolate and had the best chocolate drizzle on top. Money well spent. The sandwich counter could use a little work. While there were two attendants to take orders, there was no line organization and when they called out orders, no one stepped up to pick up their sandwiches. There was a lot of frustration going on. Another aspect that could be worked on would be to move the register by the bathroom closer to the other register by the front doors. The second register is hidden and could definitely help speed up things, if only people knew where it was. I’ll be back to Au Bön Pain. It’s close enough to work that I can make it back within an hour. I feel like I’ve just discovered gold. Believe me, Au Bön Pain is an upgrade from what I’m used to.
