Dr. Ash is a miracle worker! I am so happy I was guided to his office, he took he time understanding my symptoms. Gave me medical tests, blood, urine, camera, saliva and more and really treated the cause of my issue. I am so happy and grateful. I would recommend him to anyone that isn’t feeling good or wants to live a fully healthy life.

Dr. Ash has changed my health considerably. My health journey started with Dr Mark Hyman and his protocol 5 years ago, but after hitting a plateau and moving cities I decided to see Dr. Ash. Since seeing him in January my Hashimotos autoimmune thyroid disorder has improved immensely, I have way more energy and I’ve lost weight (inflammation). Yes he’s expensive, yes, he doesn’t take insurance (most functional medicine docs don’t), but his supplements truly are the best. His adrenal formula is FAR superior to any other supplement and I’ve tried them all. Is he going to hold your hand and listen to your sob story? No, but he provides a service that doesn’t need sugar coating because it actually works. Also, Maureen Dodd who works in his office is an angel and has changed my life, I was given a gift certificate to see her and it was the greatest gift I have ever received. Don’t let the bad reviews turn you away, I tried every protocol for candida, parasites, h pylori you name it and instead of «killing» off the infection Dr. Ash strengthens your immune system so your body can fight it off itself. I couldn’t be happier with my switch of doctors. I’m not sure why all these people are crying over a doctor who knows his shit, but he’s a smart guy and I trust he has my best intentions in mind.

One star is too many, but there is no option for zero. I had the exact same experience as everyone else here… My experience with Dr. Ash and his «practice» was by far the worst experience with a «doctor» that I have ever had. He couldn’t care less about his patients and, especially after reading all of the reviews here that match my experience, I truly believe that he is a total scam artist. This man is only after your money and he does not give a damn about your health or about honesty. I believe that the tests he conducted were mostly fabricated and though he concluded that I have a, wait for it… Gluten and Dairy allergy (read Kat S. review), I have since been retested and they came back negative. He also pushed me to buy about 8 different types of supplements from him, which are double the price of any other brands and he makes it seem as if his are the only ones that truly work. Between the (fake) tests and the supplements, I spent almost $ 5K at the Ash Center and they conveniently do not accept insurance. Absolute worst waste of my time and money. This guy should not be in business.

Worst experience I’ve ever had in a doctors office. Like a bad and scary twilight zone. If you’re smart enough to read these reviews while considering seeing him (which sadly I wasn’t) RECONSIDER!!!
Read them all as they totally spell it out. Tons of tests, tons of money, tons of supplements and his bank account gets very full, while you get nothing. He doesn’t even deserve one star but the posting doesn’t offer a negative.

This Dr. And his team are all about selling you expensive blood work and tests that are out of network and then piling up his pricey supplements on you. Almost $ 6,000 later (includes all tests and supplements), I was told I am allergic to gluten and dairy. I wish I had asked my GP to run those tests instead. The whole process was disheartening. Nobody really spends much time with you and at end you feel robbed by an establishment with nothing more than a fancy address on 5^th avenue.

Visiting Dr. Ash was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. This alleged luminary, who promotes himself on his radio show as a natural healer that has figured out the way to cure practically every disease with diet and vitamins, is a total scam. Here’s why:
1. He doesn’t care about selling you fake information based on the fake lab results that his clinic delivers to you for real money.
After he had me take a «blood, saliva and urine» test in office — even though my blood was never drawn — they somehow gave me back really «accurate» values that the doctor discussed and used as a reference for addressing my health issues.
When I confronted them about the fact that my blood was never drawn, they told me that they «used the one they drew the day before». I reminded them I had NEVER drawn any blood at their clinic, ever!
As a second excuse, they then told me that my blood was «estimated» (!!!) which not only is impossible, but also contradictory to the fact that they give written instructions on how to prepare for the blood draw.
2. He asks you to fill out a 5 page questionnaire about your condition and past medical issues that he’ll never read. The nurse goes over it for 5 minutes in front of you and then summarizes what she understood to the doctor. I’ve been to serious «functional medicine» doctors who read the questionnaire the day before and went over it with them during the appointment, thoroughly stressing each and every line and asking resonated deeper questions.
3. He goes over your previous lab results in a flash saying he doesn’t need to see anything because «he already knows»: you’ll definitely have this problem or that other problem… and you are lucky, because you can fix all that through the supplements he happens to sell. But ONLY his supplements, because all the other ones on the market won’t work.
4. He doesn’t listen to a single word the patient will try to say, the only thing he knows is how to sell you the standard answer he gives to everyone, no matter their disease or history: eat the right food, take some vitamins (his vitamins, of course) and you’ll be good. He trivializes the complexity of each individual patient’s case.
5. The staff, except for one girl at the front desk, is nasty. The nurses gossip about clients and coworkers right in front of patients, they are short and condescending when receiving questions regarding the procedures and have terrible customer service.
When I called the office to complain about my experience and being lied to about my blood results, the nurse made me feel like it was my fault and I wasn’t apologized to once nor was my complaint heard. When I tried to express my concerns the nurse practically hung up on me.
It’s embarrassing that there are people that make money exploiting the desperation of those whom are truly in need and just seeking help with their health.

This doc is tough to review. I went to him for years, before he redid his office and started to expand his business In all directions. He seemed to care more back then of getting to the cause. Now, he just rushes people and shoves vitamins or injections down their throats. He talks a lot about getting to the cause but all he does is treat your symptoms with a million vitamins. You end up falling victim to paying thousands for vitamins… that are 2 or 3 times the price of normal reputable brands, and have no sourcing information. Try to find out where they come from or who manufactures them. We know… It’s some basement generic company slapping his label on. Do you really think he inspects all the ingredients and has staff doing quality checks? Let’s be serious, he is making a killing of his vitamins because that is the only tool he uses to treat any condition. It’s disappointing because he could be a great doc if he let you use whatever brand you want and didn’t push his own. I think it clouds his judgement… You will always have an adrenal problem, candida, etc… Jesus everyone does according to these biased lab tests. It’s the same tests over and over again… and they always produce the same results. All I can say is to do your own research on everything and take only what is really necessary.

I came in as a referral from a friend who swears by Dr. Ash and his protocols. I found everyone there to be friendly and informed. I finally after years of being to every doctor’s office imaginable, got my thyroid issues resolved and have been feeling better than I have felt in years. I am sending my mother to see Dr. Ash next week.

First of all, the office/​front desk manager is extremely rude and talks about patients right in front of them to other staff members. Not only is she extremely nasty but unprofessional too for talking about patients in earshot. One of the nurses does the same thing and rolls her eyes at patients. That’s not good for business! Initially, I thought Dr. Ash was wonderful because he talked a good talk but when it came to proactively treating my issues I was sadly disappointed. He appeared to be incapable and became agitated when I began to question what he is going to do to help me as I began to further decline. Not everything on earth can be treated with vitamins. He also was more concerned about liability then going out on a limb to help a sick patient.
I believe a good physician leaves no stone unturned and looks at female/​male hormones, blood pressure hormones (renin/​aldosterone and thinks outside the box. A good integrative physician also uses pharmaceuticals conservatively when needed. He seems to think that only his supplements can fix adrenal problems and when they don’t he refuses to do anything else. His supplements are the «end all cure» and when they are not, he throws his hands up. I am sure he is wonderful for anti-​aging and pain management but for serious hormonal and health issues I am not so sure that this is the right man.
Now, finally, my insulin resistance is being treated with metformin, my adrenal issues are being treated with glandulars, my PCOS is being treated with biodentical progesterone and my immune system problems are being treated with Low Dose Naltrexone. I am doing much much better. He was unable to figure out that I needed T3 only thyroid medication because I have reverse T3 syndrome. How can someone well versed in hormonal disorders not understand the ratio was abnormal regardless of ranges? He gave me T3 and T4 and it made me much sicker. He also failed to check my ferritin which is another big issue why woman can be fatigued and have hormonal problems. He never once suggested I may be estrogen dominant or have T3 issues. This was my issue all along and instead of finding the real problem he was too busy being a salesmen!
I was very disappointed that this doctor did not even consider a diagnosis of PCOS and just kept pushing his supplements while I continued to decline. I know he is considered a health guru but in my case he missed the big picture. It seems that he feeds every patient this generic jargon such as «medications are like having mold in the basement, the mold grows back when treatment is stopped if you don’t change the environment» «you have to see the forest from the trees» etc. He is very scripted and generic. There is no individualized treatment plan, everyone gets put on a load of supplements and sent on their merry way.
This doctor is arrogant does not even let the patient get a word in edgewise. If you voice that you are not feeling better he becomes agitated and acts like you did something wrong by telling him that. Thousands and thousands of dollars later I came to the conclusion that this doctor would string me along til as long as I bought into it. I don’t think I would be here if I continued. A doctor who took a Hippocratic oath to help people should be humble enough to admit when a patient’s issues are out of his expertise/​capability and refer them elsewhere. I was never treated for insulin resistance or PCOS, how could he miss those blaring issues? If you are suffering from hormonal issues look for an integrative hormone specialist that can run all the right tests and use biodentical hormones and such to get your body balanced again!
The only thing I can guarantee you is that once you leave you will be $ 1000 poorer than when you walked in. For the money, I recommend seeing an integrative thyroid specialist.

I thought he was great when I met him in person, but when I had a follow-​up conversation with him about the results, I noticed he did not have very good explanations. Then he had nothing else to try and just recommended I go to a different type of doctor and never returned my call when I followed up several times afterwards. The staff did not follow up either.
