apt​sandlofts​.com was founded in October 2002 with the goal of approaching marketing campaigns in a completely creative way (creating trends, rather than following trends) and embracing the very best, honest and approachable Real Estate Brokers. Today, apt​sandlofts​.com is a mid-​sized company that fosters an intimate work environment (as you may characteristically find in small local brokerage companies), while boasting a sophisticated roster of exclusive listings and strong, working relationships with influential NYC developers (as you may characteristically find in large, corporate Manhattan-​based firms). Our day-​to-​day activities are centered on the core principles of hard work, honesty, and professionalism. Business Owner

David Maundrell is President and founder of apt​sandlofts​.com. Starting from a small 550 square foot office in an industrial section of North Williamsburg in October of 2002, David’s vision for the company is to simply «Keep it Real» with a goal of providing clients with highest level of marketing services for their properties but also to provide his customers with the same level of service in a down to earth approachable manner. This vision has enabled apt​sandlofts​.com to become one of the largest and recognizable privately owned Real Estate brands in Brooklyn today.

A native of Williamsburg Brooklyn and a lifelong Brooklyn resident, David cares deeply about not only real estate in Brooklyn but also the neighborhoods as a whole and is involved with multiple neighborhood charities. Professionally, David is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and is a member of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Real Estate and Development Committee.

AptsandLofts.com’s Richie Maggio showed me an apartment to my roommate and myself after we answered an ad for $ 1650.
Upon contacting Richie we found out that AFTER two months free, the rent would be 1650…
Then we agreed to placing a deposit and explained to Richie that we only wanted the front apt.
After being guaranteed the front apt, when meeting to give the deposit, we were told another couple had paypal and had put the deposit on BOTH apartments.
We pushed and pushed and finally got Richie to call the other broker and guarantee us the apartment.
After more than a full week of waiting we were then told by Richie that the landlord wanted MORE MONEY! Richie then asked ME to call the landlord and plead with him.
The situation quickly eroded to a back & forth between aptsandlofts, the landlords, and myself with none of us agreeing.
These «brokers» are terrible at communicating and staying true to not only their word but written agreements. Extremely unprofessional… would never do business with again. They do not value their reputation nor their relationship with their customers.
EDIT: Also, they seem to have figured out a way to remove all their Unilocal reviews and start over by registering at a different address. Here are their previous reviews that are pretty good to read over before you do business with them:

I had a great experience with aptsandlofts. My roommate and I worked with Lamonte Ball who was personable, available, direct, and helpful. He did what no other broker did for us which was to sit down and explain the entire process from start to finish. Carefully going over the forms we needed to sign, patiently explaining how fee and no fee apartments work. We felt very safe in his hands. Would highly recommend to anyone especially if you are new to the city or to apartment hunting. The who experience was very above board in a business that is often not so much.

My wife and I are moving from PDX to NYC, and Kimberly was an incredible and and resource. She kept in very close contact with us throughout the entire process of finding us the perfect home, and gave very quick and prompt replies to any questions or concerns we had. My roommates and I recently worked with Tami Lavi as we prepared to make the move from Kansas to NYC, and she could not have been more helpful throughout the whole process. As this was to be the first time any of us had rented an apartment in the city, we were all fairly unsure of the process (as were our parents) and she was patient and helpful through all of our questions and confusion, even though we were doing most of this from halfway across the country. Now that we have successfully signed our lease and been living in our apartment for just over 2 weeks, she has continued to be available for us (especially because the
office is just down the street) and we have happily run into her on more than one occasion. Tami is definitely a realtor I would recommend to anyone looking for an apartment, especially in the Brooklyn/​Bed-​Stuy area!

Worked with Sandy Yuen at the Bed-​stuy location. Being new to NY I had plenty of questions about the differences of renting an apartment in NY vs. other states. She was very patient and answered all my questions promptly. She was happy to put the time in to get us in the apartment within a week of first meeting her. She also did a great job of keeping us updated on the overall progress when we applied for the apartment we liked. Overall an easy experience working with Sandy.

Amber Ferrer at this Bedford Stuyvesant location of aptsandlofts was patient and worked with our budget, schedule and time. She is personable and warm and made the stressful reality of looking for an apartment in this Boro a bit easier to bear. She also knows many neighborhood spots.
