Appearance Unisex Beauty Salon

Went here at the recommendation of my mom, who’s relatively computer illiterate (love you, ma :)), so I’m writing to represent both of us hehe. SUNA IS AMAZING. My mom went to her after having a terrible experience at a salon in Chinatown, where they practically burned her hair after claiming to be able to perm AND highlight her hair ON THE SAME DAY. Suna was able to miraculously revive her abused locks into a healthy mane, and so my mom will ONLY go to her for any texturizing treatment or coloring needs. That goes for me, too! I had gotten my hair highlighted at a high-​end salon in California and was not happy at all with the multichromicity of the end result. My mom took me to Suna, who corrected the color patiently while kindly (haha) expressing her anger at the colorist who messed up my hair. It turned out perfectly, and she’s my go-​to for color treatments now. Just redid my highlights today and I was so impressed that I decided to write my first Unilocal review — yup, she’s THAT good. And to top it off, she’s incredibly personable — I feel like I’m with a second mother whenever I go to her. Her salon is homey and she’s always offering my snackies hehe. Price-​wise, she’s a real catch. I have SUPER long and thick hair, and I was able to get a FULL head of highlights for only $ 120! This would have cost about $ 200+ at my previous salons in California, so this is a great bargain. The only downsides (though not worthy of a star dock) is the location/​parking (by the ferry), and that she only accepts cash/​check. But such is the nature of these hole-​in-​the-​wall gems. ;-)
