Unfortunately, not for me. My hair (simple box braids) started looking old and raggedy about 2 weeks in, if not earlier. I didn’t like her technique and overall felt like I’d wasted my money.

After watching a YouTube tutorial on Havana twists, I thought I’d «give it a go». After a disastrous attempt that took 12 hours to install, 4 hands (thanks to my adorable boyfriend) and lasted only 4 days, I reached out to Anta. She was absolutely amazing. Anta’s work was impeccable. She is very professional, reasonably priced, very friendly and easy to talk to. And better yet, she travels to you! I will definitely be calling her again during this protective styling season.

I will give her 10 stars if I could I will definitely be making another appointment to get my hair done by her again. Anta has been doing my hair for a year. She is always on time, pleasant to deal with, awesome to chat with and never braids too tight! Gone are the sleepless nights bc my scalp hurts too badly! I highly recommend her :)

Anta has done my Sengalese twists 4 times in the past year and always does an amazing job! I have had natural hair for the past 3 years and I am very particular about who does my hair. (My hair is mid-​back length, 4b) I like to ensure my edges are not too tight and that I retain length with my protective styles. Anta comes to my house on time, is a joy to be around, is very professional and has the best prices in the city!

Firstly, she comes to your home!!! But Anta is amazing at what she does and so knowledgeable about hair care with braids and twists. It took us a couple of times to figure out how to best twist my soft and silky hair for Senegalese twists but the results were STUNNING! My Save the Date pictures were beautiful! I just got shimmery purple and black box braids in a bob from her and they are equally as beautiful. I am a repeat customer and I recommend her to all my friends in NYC.

I was very satisfied with the technique used to braid my hair. When I told her I was concerned that the braids were too tight, she changed her method and I felt a difference. I waited to write this review until AFTER I took out my braids. I kept them in for about a month (I went swimming in them so they were starting to look a bit frizzy bc my hair isn’t relaxed). I will say that the takeout wasn’t as bad as when I last got braids from a shop in harlem. I think it was the type of hair she used in combination with the technique. She also left out my edges as requested because I was concerned after my last braids thinned them out.
After calling around shops and trying to get braids in at the last minute before a vacay, I was glad to find a reliable, flexible, and convenient braider. She was pleasant and diligent. I am very hesitant to go to a shop again where they use bad hair and braid too tight. I won’t be getting braids for a while, but if and when i do again, I will be giving Anta a call!
