I feel so lucky to have found this place, which is so easy to walk right by (and will be open from now on only May through October). I love the fabrics and designs, but, just as important is the amazing personal service by owner/​designer Vivienne. Free alterations! And as a short person, I needed lots of them. She was also very judicious in helping me select things. And the prices are very reasonable, made more so by the gratis alterations. No wonder she has so many repeat, loyal customers!

Last summer and the summer before I danced at Lincoln Center Mid Summer Night
Swing in my Alskling dresses! When I wasn’t dancing I wore a gorgeous one of a kind multi colored camisole top with a denim skirt or jeans and received loads of compliments,
Alskling has a wall of gorgeous camisoles and a wall of gorgeous slip dresses that go from the beach, to the ballroom and even the bedroom! You can wear them on date night too.
The store is a tiny gem with a lovely owner/​designer that remembers what you like!
PS– there are also lovely dressy dresses and maxi skirts!

Guys, if you’re looking for some classy lingerie for that special lady in your life, and want something with a bit more personality that Victoria’s Secret, I suggest to give this place a try.
Don’t get fooled by the little pool with mechanical frogs outside the shop. Or the wall of onesies with the word «swetheart» spelled in any possible language[1]. This unassuming little boutique has some beautiful lingerie that is classy, sexy, and you probably won’t find anywhere else in New York City.
Maybe it’s how nice Vivianne, the owner of the shop, is. Maybe it’s the fact that the designer of Swedish lingerie line Chambres[2] happens to be in the shop and picks up a beautiful rayon Petronella slip in French blue with black lacing for my girlfriend to try. Maybe it’s how rich and smooth the fabric of the slip feels at the touch. Maybe it is how stunning my woman looks wearing that Petronella slip; so much so that I just want to run my fingers and feel that smooth fabric over her body right there in the shop. Maybe it’s the glass of Prosecco that I am holding. But if this is not a five star experience, then I don’t know what it is.

Why has no one reviewed this place yet? This little Swedish boutique is endearing — it’s tiny, but they have some really unique pieces that are bound to bring out the Renaissancey fairy-​tale romantic in a woman. I especially love the different prints that come in during the different seasons.
Awhile back i got a beautiful over-​sized pink wool scarf for cheap during one of their seasonal sales. Super warm, and I’ve gotten tons of compliments about it over the years. Definitely stop by for a peek if you’re in the neighborhood!

What a wonderful place to find that fantasic something to wear (or gift) that you could not even imagine b4 u walked into the sore… truly great stuff, and all made in NYC!!!
