Tricia is very sweet and talented, but I was not pleased to pay $ 75 for a haircut! The place feels small and could be more comfortable, but they serve wine!

I bought the groupon for the bayalage highlights. I got there about 45 minutes early and still had to wait but it was worth it. Kay, who washed my hair, was very pleasant and friendly. I loved the massage chair as my hair was being washed. Dash did my highlights and I felt comfortable enough with him so I decided to let him cut my hair. He listened to what I wanted and did exactly what I envisioned. I love my highlights and will be coming back. See DASH, he is amazing. Love him!!!

My friend Christina goes here all the time to do her hair and I see the job they do and it’s simply fantastic. I went there to pick up my friend the other day and the staff was so nice and courteous, very attentive to their customers. Also it’s a very clean neat place. Everything was organized. I hope to take my mother one day soon.

I cut/​colored my hair with the same stylist for years. A few years ago, my stylist moved and I was apprehensive about finding someone new who was reputable. Some friends recommended I make an appointment to see Brittney at Alex Anthony. I couldn’t be happier! Brittney is talented, sweet, and genuinely friendly, as well as a great listener– she’s thorough and patient in understanding exactly what her clients ask for. She has always gone out of her way to make me feel comfortable when I have questions or ask her for hair advice & she consistently delivers what she promises. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair. Brittney is the only person I’ve trusted with my hair for the last few years and a stylist I whole heartedly recommend– She’s incredible!

My experience at this salon was terrible and I would never recommend it. I came in for a single-​process color and a Keratin process. I had Brittany, who was very pleasant, but was completely unfamiliar with what she was doing. Apparently they changed their color formula recently and she had no idea how this new brand would develop. I showed her pictures of the color I wanted — a very basic medium/​dark brown. Well, my hair came out black. Morticia Adams black. During the color process she kept asking me if my scalp was tingling (which it was) to learn how this new formula reacts. The Keratin process was a similar trial-​and-​error experience. She kept asking another stylist what to do and when I asked her if she had done this before she informed me she had not done it on a client but had some training. A salon should not be experimenting on clients!
Alex, the owner, was not present, so the next day I called and asked to make an appointment with her to have this disaster fixed. The male receptionist informed me that I was not allowed to see Alex, I would have to see Brittany for any correction. This makes absolutely no sense! Why would I want to see the stylist who messed up and clearly didn’t know what she was doing? So I asked to speak to Alex and he responded, obnoxiously, that he had just as much authority as her and I’d be «wasting her time» speaking with her. When I pressed, he informed me the she also refused to speak with me. Their arrogance was obscene.
I ended up having to go to another salon, where they had to strip all the color from my hair and re-​dye it – a process that both dries out the hair and effectively removed the (shoddy) Keratin treatment, and of course is expensive. I should have heeded the advice of all the other critical reviews on this site. The stylists are not experienced and the attitudes of the owner and employees are insulting. Do not go to this salon.

Daniel Muñoz is as passionate as he is informed of his craft. From start to finish both Daniel and Cinnamon (his puppy) made me feel at home. Time was taken to understand every detail I was looking for in my balayage and the result blew away any photos or description I had given. Considering I visited the salon blindly on a recommendation from a friend I can say I was pleasantly surprised. The salon is cute, clean, current with new hair technology, and accepts lifebooker deals for new clients. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

I have been a client of Alex Anthony for a while now. Usually Ana cuts my hair and she always does a wonderful job. This time I got the deal for bayalage highlights, since it said it was for one time customers I called right alway so I would have time to cancel the loot in case I couldn’t use it. I spoke to a very nice girl over the phone and explained to her I had a loot deal and that I had been there before for haircuts she explained their terms and told me they would honor the loot for me this time.
Once there they told me Daniel would be my stylist I showed him a few pictures of what I wanted and explained to him that I had been waiting to grow my hair and had waited to dye it because I wanted to minimize the damaged to my hair.
I want to emphasize that Daniel was nice and explained to me all the products that he was using I kept saying I didn’t want it to be too bright and he told me not to worry. Once my hair was bleached he told me I needed to get a toner so the process could look «complete» I had done my research on what a Bayalage actually was and I was surprised that the toner wasn’t included but I didn’t wanna end up with orange hair so I paid the extra $ 40
After my hair was done I was so shocked of how horrible it looked I kept thinking to my self that i just needed some time to get used to it but no. My hair was fried and bright yellow /​orange with a giant strip on the front of my face. On top of that the guys at the front desk not only tried to charge an extra $ 20 because DANIEL took care of me but they said that they couldn’t honor the bayalage because I was not a first time customer and when I told them that I had warned the receptionist they had no other choice but to honor the loot. I am mostly upset at the fact that Daniel was unprofessional enough to not only let me leave the salon looking like this but he actually thought he did a good job. I left a voicemail at the salon 2 days after and emailed them through their website but got no response. I have recommended this salon to several friends and I’m completely disappointed by this experience and the Staff’s indifference to customer’s satisfaction.

I saw Tricia yesterday for balayage highlights and a trim/​cut. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. Tricia was completely professional, but has an awesome personality and was really fun to spend time with. the whole atmosphere of the salon is light and fun and all of the staff have a great relationship. I will definitely be going back and I recommend this salon to anyone who likes to have a fun time while getting hair services. if you’re the type that just wants to sit and be quiet, this might not be for you. All of the staff was really helpful and friendly, even when I showed up WAYYYY early for my appointment. I cant wait to see Tricia again!

I always forget to leave an updated review for this place. At first I gave this place great reviews because my hair seemed nice for the first week after I got it done. Soon after a week, my hair began to look brassy in color as I realized the owner didn’t do much of a color correction. It was a rushed process and I was out of there in no time (spent no more than 40 minutes there for baylage highlights + blowdry). I even remember having to ask her to add more color because it looked like she didn’t even do anything. She (Alex), cuts hair nicely but it’s not worth the money she charges for it. Won’t be back, wasn’t worth the money I paid even with a coupon special

I’ve had my hair done several times here. Earlier this year I decided to dye my hair purple and came back to this salon after several positive experiences getting my hair cut. I met Brittney to discuss my color, and she understood exactly what I wanted and was excited to work with me to achieve it. My color has looked amazing all year, faded exactly like I wanted it to, and every time I come in to get the color touched up I walk out with my hair looking just how I wanted it– gorgeous purple, shiny, and feeling great. I have never gotten so many compliments on a cut or color before! Brittney is the best!

Ana did an amazing job on my blonde hair. She listened to what I wanted and made it happen. I will 100% be back to see her for all of my blonde hair needs. Thank you Ana!!!

I am not crazy about this place. I went in for a balayage and Alex serviced me. She was courteous, but I didn’t quite enjoy the color that I left with. I asked for ash brown and she assured me throughout the experience that it would be so. After washing out the chemicals, she said it was caramel– not what I was gunning for at all. The so called hair painting took less than 10 minutes, I sat around for 20, had my hair washed and dried and was ushered out the door within 1 hour.
Throughout my entire stay, I definitely felt like I was treated with less enthusiasm because I am Asian and I happened to roll into the salon that morning sans makeup. I asked to have my hair blowdried into curls because I was due at an event the next day and wanted the curls to stay. Alex told me she that it was impossible (despite having received amazing curls by blowdryers before at other salons). In the end, she curled my hand with a wand and fell apart within two hours. For me, it was clear that Alex did not want to invest the time into curling my hair with a blowdryer, which would’ve required a lot more effort than wrapping my hair a few times against a sizzling metal rod.
The salon looked great, but the services were mediocre and I definitely did not walk out loving my hair or the experience.

I literally just left the salon and couldnt wait to rave about my experience with Brittney. Let me start off by saying I’ve never colored my hair before so it took alot for me to come here and trust someone to color my hair! After seeing Christy L.‘s results I decided to give it a go and I was not disappointed at all.
I booked an appointment with Brittney and I’m so happy I did. She is absolutely incredible and really gave me exactly what I wanted, subtle natural highlights. It’s nice when they care about how your hair comes out as much as you do. I’m so ready to go lighter next time!
If you’re on the fence about coloring your hair here, definitely do it!

I got my balayage highlights from Brittany and I love it! She did an amazing job and it was exactly what I envisioned it to be. She’s really attentive to detail and at first, the color didn’t come out how we wanted it to be so she went right back in a toned it down for me. She’s really good at her craft and made my first visit to the Alex Anthony salon very pleasant. I will definitely be back next time I want a good coloring!

Bought a life booker for a deep conditioning + haircut + blow-​dry for $ 45 which is quite a snag in the city. Besides awkward issues with Lifebooker’s booking process (can’t fault the salon for that), the salon never registered my appointment and I had to push it to the next week.
Probably the quickest cut and blow-​dry I’ve ever received! I was in at 5:30 and out by 6:15…maybe I’m just not used to salons in the city but that was great! Maybe a bit of a hasty job but my hair looked great! (still haven’t washed it yet so maybe I’ll have to edit this as soon as I do)
