They made my move a disturbing and unpleasant experience! THE QUOTE IS A TRICK TO LURE YOU IN! THEY WILL THEN CHARGE YOU OVER 2X ORIGINAL QUOTE. I am usually very vigilant with checking the Unilocal reviews on companies before I use them. I was so overwhelmed with high quotes that I jumped at the $ 500 quote that Ace movers offered me. BIG MISTAKE. Not only were they 3 hours late for my move, the person on the phone was unapologetic and they then proceeded to charge me $ 1000 for the move including a ticket they got while offloading. I could not believe my ears when they began rattling off additional fees that had not been mentioned in the initial quote. The movers themselves were extremely unprofessional & inappropriate. Dealing with them left me feeling intimidated, and taken advantage of! In addition to all this, they did a shoddy job boxing my belongings (shards of broken glass in my boxes!) They didn’t even move all the items I asked them to move. Moving is hard enough as it is, don’t make it an even more upsetting experience by hiring Ace Movers.

ABSOLUTLEY HORRIBLE!!! When you first contact this company, they’re very respectful. They find playful ways to relate with you on the other end of the line and it makes you feel like they truly understand the hassle of moving. I was quoted by Michael (if that’s even his real name, seriously) for a $ 1,440 move from CT to TX, and was told I was being given a discounted fuel surcharge of 12% down to 7% for booking with them. I had given Michael a verbal detailed walk through of my house after they declined a walk through quote before the move. On the day of the move, I find out that Ace Moving is actually a third party moving company. The man that showed up quickly demanded that I put my animals away because he did not like them. One of the other movers (there was three) asked to use my restroom, and then proceeded to very obviously use number two and make my boyfriend and I very uncomfortable. After all of this, and all of my things were loaded onto the truck, my price had literally DOUBLED!!! Due to some of my boxes not bring square, they were insistent that they needed to charge for additional space (which is ridiculous) and the total wound up being over $ 3,000. I called Michael to try and resolve this matter, however, all I got was that I didn’t understand the terms of the contract, and my fuel service was not being discounted to the 7% unless I was paying with cash. With no other choice but to pay, with all of my things already loaded onto the truck, the mover then had the audacity to ask me for a 20% tip for each of his movers. I did not feel like 20% was applicable to the movers due to my quote being doubled, and the dissatisfaction of their customer service, I tipped each mover $ 100. The boss then turned to me and said, «and what about me?» Are you kidding? It took over a week to get our things, and I had two broken legs to a table, a scratched dining top, and a missing box. No calls have been returned. DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!

This company doesn’t even deserve 1 star. It’s a filthy cheating business, please spend an extra 100 and find a real moving company. First they’ll raise the price once they’re in your house and have wrapped up everything. They are untrustworthy with time and very poor with accuracy. They’ll literally charge you for wrapping, supplies, and the walking distance from the elevator to your doorstep. The delivery date is a lie, they’ll say the van is leaving the next day when in reality, they’ll put all your things in a storage until they’re ready. I was told I’d get my belongings in 5 days, which was the reason for their «great price». I received them in 13 days. THEY OPENED MY BOXES! One of them wasn’t even wrapped in my own tape, how stupid is that? All of my boxes look like they’ve been run over buy a car, broken, crushed and dented. Apparently they can’t read, it clearly said FRAGILE in a large black marker font. MY STUFF CAME BROKEN!!! I couldn’t believe it, my mirror came cracked, my bed broken and my boxes opened. Truly filthy scumbags. Not to mention the service. This has been the worst service I ever received from every single company I’ve ever used in my life. I had to call the police because of a verbal argument with the drivers. As a young woman I feel taken advantage of, having to pay for broken items and horrible service. They wanted to charge me twice for a deposit which was already paid, and charge for literally everything. This is a horrible and stupid company. Do not trust them, do not use them. They were all so rude. Disgusting

What an absolute disaster. I was quoted $ 2300 for my move to North Carolina and I should have known better than to go with price. So this review will be lengthy but I want to do my part to make sure no one goes with these scumbags. #1. Ron is a complete liar and will quote you the cheapest price possible. My quote was for $ 2300. This POS ended up charging me over $ 4500 and that doesn’t include tips for the movers. Oh and btw they make you pay more for tolls too. The move totaled $ 5500. And that does not include the damaged items. We’ll get to that in a bit. #2. The movers did not speak English well at all. They were Vietnamese and I have no problem with that. However, they had no courtesy for my home as so many items were broken. One of them flooded my toilet by taking a massive dump. And all three of them felt the need to take a crap in my old and new home. Fantastic. I ended up having to junk my armoire. They broke the supports and had the nerve to try and hide it. They hid one support under my ruined mattress and his the other support in one of the drawers for my dresser. It almost crushed my wife when it collapsed. It’s been three months and I just realized the damage they did to my dining room table. It has also just collapsed. They ruined my $ 3000 mattress. My Tv table stands were all scratched and broken. I have other items that were broken as well and I’ll include pictures. #3. Filing the claim. Oh, this is even better. No one wants to call you back when you want to file a claim for the broken items. Outside of the utter disrespect by the movers for trying to hide the items they broke, these people don’t want to pay for what they broke. No response after months and they don’t want to call back. Why would they? STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Buyer Beware. Very dishonest company and practices. Would never use again. Lure you in with low quotes and then send fees to the roof when the workers arrive. Very shady.

Horrible experience. Still trying to get our money back months after the move for damages, bogus overage charges and more. Save yourself the headache and do some research on other movers, this company has horrendous business practices.

I was moving from NY to CA and made the mistake of putting my information into one of those sites that send your info out to a million moving companies. Ronnie from Ace was the first to call and was a super pleasant person to talk to. Ronnie’s estimate fit right into my time frame and with the low quoted price and the fact that these guys are local to me (Queens represent!) they were an easy choice.
Come moving day the price they charged was almost double the quoted price. (Lesson 1: don’t trust a quote from a mover that has never seen your stuff) They ask for 75% up front with the remaining 25% paid on delivery in cash. Hmmm…
My stuff was supposed to arrive on or around 6÷15… it didn’t arrive until ⁷⁄₉. There was no active communication on Ace’s part regarding this huge delay. I had to pursue them several times unsuccessfully with no one giving me any real answers. Working full time with a 3 hour time difference made it harder to catch them, so I ended up enlisting my dad on the East coast to track down some answers from the same time zone. I read the other reviews on Unilocal and nearly had a panic attack, convinced I was being scammed.
That being said, all of my stuff did arrive and no one tried to charge me extra money upon delivery. Some of the furniture was a bit damaged. Ace subcontracts long distance/​out of state moves because the guys that arrived worked for some other company based out of Brooklyn. That could explain why some of the other reviewers below had missing items and scams on delivery. It also explains the crazy waiting time and how no one at Ace seemed to know what was going on. This is unacceptable on their part regardless.
TLDR: Ace was deceptive in their pricing and delivery time frame. My stuff was delivered nearly a month late and held in limbo with no communication on Ace’s part which is stressful and unprofessional as hell. At least nothing was missing like some of the less fortunate reviewers here.

DO NOT USE THEM!!! WARNING!!! YOUR STUFF WILL NEVER BE DELIVERED. RONNIE IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST HE IS A LIAR! Our things were suppose to be here in Texas 3 and a half weeks ago. We are still waiting every time we call these dumb pucks act like they have no idea what’s going on the dispatcher this the weather that. They picked our things up from NYC a month ago. Seriously trying to tell me that within a month you haven’t been able to get our things to Texas. We will be taking legal action against them.

This was the worst place ever and I will never return. I work nights in Union Square. I was moving and needed some boxes last minute. I had no time to go to Home Depot before work started and this place was a half block from my job. So I get there the door is locked but a woman is sitting inside smoking a cigarette. She stares at me for a few minutes, gets up walks to the door then yells through the glass what do you want?
Now normally I would have left but the movers were coming the next day and I needed to finish packing. So I say boxes and she unlocks the door puts her lit cigarette in the counter and rudely asks what I want. I tell her three small three medium. Then I changed it to three small Book boxes and three medium. She got angry made a rude remark then tried to sell me moving services. I said no thanks she charged me 21 dollars for 6 boxes that is way overpriced.
Finally she rings me up takes my money doesn’t give me a receipt which was fine, but when I asked her to tie the boxes together so they are easier to walk with she took a drag off the cigarette that’s still lit indoors then makes a big production out of putting the string in like it’s not a part of her job. Whoever you were las Thursday around 315 pm your an asshole and you should be fired. Don’t go to this place it sucks.

ZERO STARS. Please DO NOT USE THIS MOVER. To summarize, we were changed over 2.5 TIMES MORE than what was originally quoted for a delivery that showed up 5 DAYS LATE.
If you’d like more detail about our awful experience:
1) We ended up having to pay more than 2.5 times the original quote that Fine/​Ace moving had provided. We gave them a very accurate inventory of our belongings and as a warning they purposely underestimate sizes/​volume to give you a lower quote and suck you in.
2) We explicitly asked if there will be any extra fees and they promised not. But they OUTSOURCE the move and as soon as you pay them, they suddenly have NO IDEA about anything– where your stuff is at any point, extra fees, etc. They become SO UNHELPFUL after they have your money that they don’t even try to get a hold of the movers for you when your stuff hasn’t shown up on the delivery date.
We were moving from New York City to Texas. After two weeks (longer than a move of this distance needs to take), we didn’t hear from the movers the day before or day of the scheduled delivery date. We called the main number and grumpy front desk lady Beth gave us the number of the driver (instead of calling the driver for us). Of course the driver didn’t pick up or return our messages. So day 2 of missing truck, we call Beth again who tells us to call the dispatcher (again, why are we the ones who have to call). We call him, Ronnie, who makes up a bunch of lame excuses about how our stuff will be 5 days late and they wouldn’t comp us in any way.
Finally on the fifth day after our stuff was supposed to show up (this is now almost three weeks after they picked up our stuff in nyc), sketchy movers show up at 10:30pm. And surprise surprise there are EXTRA FEES! We argued that Fine/​Ace promised no extra fees and they said they would not unload our belongings unless we paid them $ 150. Powerless and just wanting our stuff at that point, we paid them and waited while the sketchy movers unloaded our stuff until 1am on a Tuesday night.
I never write reviews, but feel so strongly against this company that I needed to save others from the overpriced, stressful experience you are sure to have with Fine/​Ace Moving.

Scheduled 9 AM move. I got a call around 8 AM that they wouldn’t be there until 10 because of weather. All morning, I got stories about traffic on the Williamsburg bridge. Early afternoon, they finally admitted the truck was somewhere else doing another job, then some sob story about broken windshield wipers, yadda yadda yadda, not sure if they would make it by 5 (the building’s cutoff for moves). I canceled the job. Cost me a vacation day from work.

Walked in to inquire about some boxes and the she-​male behind the counter was a complete rude clown show. Peaced out and headed to Ace Hardware on 19^th and 1^st (not to be confused with this Ace piece of crap muppetry) and purchased the boxes I needed for $ 2.50 a piece. This cesspool wanted over $ 10.00 for the same thing. Stay away from this joke establishment, save money, and save your soul from being eaten by the fire breathing demon behind the counter.

This is honestly one of those instances where I wish there was an option to give not even zero stars, but negative stars.
As previously mentioned, Ronnie draws you in over the phone and allows you to believe that it’s a great company that values customer service. But it’s a lie. They tell you one thing in order to secure business and then something totally different once they’ve earned your business.
Eli, the supposed supervisor and Diane, whatever her role is, both need a class in customer excellence and service recovery.
Unfortunately I reviewed the BBB website and not Unilocal before deciding on Ace Movers… a mistake that will never happen again.
The long and short of it all… stay far away from Ace Movers. You will be disappointed.

Just had the same BAD and RUDE experience as all the rest on here. I hired them for a long distance move (from Brooklyn to Atlanta). AFTER the truck was loaded, my total came to double what the quote was. And the crew demanded a tip on top of the inflated price.
I leave NYC, drive to Atlanta expecting the truck to arrive the next day. 8 days later it arrived. Every time I called dispatch, I got the same excuse that «the truck broke down». So I lived out of a suitcase for 2 weeks wondering each day when my stuff would arrive. The gentleman I set the move up with was pretty nice and offered a 10% discount after my stuff was delivered, BUT he’d have to clear this with the owner.
3 weeks later I get a call from some RUDE guy laughing saying there was no way he was giving me 10%, that I was lucky I got my stuff within 21 days and he really didn’t care if I write a bad review. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED — THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Wish I had read the other reviews before I hired them. Spend the money and use a professional company.

i haven’t even moved with them and right off the bat their service is awful. i spoke on the phone with a woman merely asking for an estimate/​quote of how much moving would cost, and she was snappy and rude the entire time. furthermore, she kept cutting me off and when i told her i needed some time to think about it, she persistently asked why i was taking so long with my decision/​kept asking for my credit card number and proceeded to hang up on me. after reading these Unilocal reviews, i see i’ve made the right decision. i also find it interesting that the owner decides to respond only to positive reviews.

ACE Moving & Storage FAILED TO SHOW UP FOR MY MOVE in March 2014.
They didn’t call, they didn’t care — and one month later, they have yet to refund my $ 100 deposit.
If you are going to use ACE Moving, you might want to request a deposit from THEM to ensure that they actually show up.
I had scheduled my move a week before, and I was charged $ 100 as a deposit.
Our move was scheduled for 1pm on the last day of the month, so when we hadn’t heard anything by 2, we gave them a call… only to be told that they had shown up to a larger first job than expected and now wouldn’t be able to move us that day.
The earliest rescheduling option that I was offered was 8am THE NEXT DAY. Only when I asked was I offered a $ 5/​hour discount for our trouble. That certainly did not cover the day of pro-​rated rent + extra day off work that moving the the next day would have required.
We were very lucky to find another mover at the last minute that day, for less than what we were expecting to pay ACE. The woman in the ACE Moving office commented that the new movers must be «desperate» to work same day, along with calling herself «nice» for being honest about the reschedule (once we called, rather than stringing us along for the rest of the day?).
I had used ACE Moving once before, and they were okay last time… aside from the $ 100 travel cost to move 8 blocks, and the parking ticket that they tried to make me pay in cash. To be treated this way as a returning customer is even worse — I was standing on the curb with everything I own in boxes, waiting for movers who DIDN“T SHOW UP, and ACE Moving couldn’t have cared less.
I have never been so disappointed with a company and its services. It has actually cost me time and money NOT to work with them! I have filed a BBB complaint against them for my un-​returned deposit. Ronny and the woman who work there should be ashamed of the way that they run this business.

This is by far the worst moving company I have ever come in contact with.
First off, they quoted our 1.5 bedroom apt. On the phone at $ 1300, then when they picked up our stuff, they said it was $ 2300. Throughout our rebuttals with this, we were met with hostility. (The foreman also was showing us $ 2000 Egyptian artifacts he was going to buy because he was so rich.)
We called when we were told to expect our things, and talked to a man named Ronnie who said the truck should leave and be in Florida in a couple days. Two days later he says, you should call me tomorrow and I’ll tell you the drivers name. I called the next day, to which he says, the truck is on it’s way, and we should have our stuff in another 3 days.
2 weeks later, they not only say they have not loaded the truck in Queens yet, but they did not even have a truck yet. And again we were met with rude behavior. The owner of the company, Eli, said, «Were really stressed out! I have had some people’s stuff for over a month and they’re really upset with us, we’re just trying to find a truck!» He was incredibly rude to us, the customer, who were only inquiring about our belongings. We finally received our things 3 and a half weeks later.
Upon receiving our stuff, we were missing a box of videogames, around $ 2000 worth of stuff in there, sent my quote to the insurance agency of Ace, and only received $ 36 because their policy is based on weight, which I admit they did let me know beforehand.
I am not surprised that a company like this thrives due to the amount of con-​artists they have working for them. I warn you, Do not pick them, because even if you are really good at seeing through the lies, they will find a way to steal your money.
Also, notice how Eli, the owner, has been childishly commenting on all the bad reviews (all of them, don’t be fooled by the fake ones) and is lying about what happened. If anyone has a doubt about this review and isn’t convinced by the coincidence that every other one has a similar story, I have my contracts and I can show you pickup date and delivery date.

Ha, I’m glad this company has such bad reviews and yet they don’t strive to improve, no basic common sense?! But who am I to judge anyway… oh wait I am the customer, I got the right to do so!
I walked by and notice they sell boxes for moving and since I am moving at the moment, I figured I pop in and ask the basic questions and pick up some boxes.
As soon as I walked in, there was an older lady (sorry if I offend your age but F it you suck) sitting in the back doing some paper work, she glanced and ignored me. I looked around then tell her I am looking to move but today I need to bring home some boxes, what kind do you carry? She instantly got irritated and said «Up There!» ok so I ignore it and look up and notice the medium was not big enough and needed something slight larger. I then ask if they have a slightly larger one? She turns and sighs, «TURN AROUND!» with the worst attitude, cheeeese christ! she acted like I had a personal blue print to the place, wouldn’t be needing her in the first place… Thats where it ended, I had enough and left.
Moral of story, if you suffer from serious PMS or just found out your third husband has gone gay during the 80’s and decided to fill you in now, then you probably shouldn’t be working that day, at least wait till the heat-​wave die down. just a bit.

THE CUSTOMER IS KEY! Granted some customers can be a pain– I’ve worked in a customer service job and it can get rough. But by no means is it appropriate to yell at your customer who just wants to know where the dam n truck is because we’ve been waiting outside our new apartment for over an hour.
Imprecations aside, the movers themselves were friendly, and efficient. There were 3 of them and were able to load the stuff from our 1.5bdrm apartment (with no living room) in 1.5hrs. Took them longer than expected to arrive at our new place, and so we called the office to see where they were. DUDE IN THE OFFICE — you need a lesson in human decency. I feel sorry for any customer who has to deal with you. Don’t raise your voice and give excuses when that’s not what we called you for. Just tell us where the dam n truck is.
Over all the service took 3.25 hours, and we were charged $ 535. We gave $ 75 ($ 25 each) for tip for a total of $ 610. After the incident over the phone, would PASS on using these guys.

Love the team here, fast, courteous and SASSY service.
I will get my boxes here from now on.
I wish I had known they did moving as well before I booked another company.
