Hit to the Timothy Oulton floor and check out their collections. Most are unique and better made than restoration hardware. Some of which are antique piece not available anywhere else. Definitely the place to shop for those who wants to have classy but fun youthful furniture.

I couldn’t decide between 3 or 4 stars, so I decided on 4. My reason is that they have a superb selection of rugs from all over the world and a stellar selection of carpeting of all types and colors. There is no other place that I can think of the houses the selection of carpets and rugs that they offer. The building directly across the street is where you will find most of them. Additionally the top floor specializes in them as well. I have to be honest though, I wasn’t that impressed with the other departments, especially the furniture. Some of the vintage/​antique furniture was ghastly and overpriced to boot. I find it hard to believe that this is where the elite of NYC furnish their abodes. So disappointing. So 5 stars for the vast selection of carpets and rugs, 2 stars for everything else.

I don’t care that I can’t afford anything here. I don’t care that customer service isn’t always that great. This place is a visual treat.
Central Park, one of my favorite places in Manhattan, provides a gorgeous sense of exploration and serenity. ABC is a consumerist version of that, and let’s face it, any red-​blooded American is a sucker for pretty buy-​able things. Even the impoverished among us can get inspiration from wandering the isles. I have taken to doing homemade versions of some of the cute things in the nursery section.
When I think of New York, I think of a place that should be taste-​making, not following. ABC keeps this tradition firmly in place.

Love the various ideas and colors. The rugs were a bit pricey and the staff curteous and friendly.

This review is for the on-​line store only. Everything at ABC is beautiful and pretty awesome but if you order on-​line their service is D-​. Purchased a few things over the holidays when they were offering free returns. I ended up having to pay for the return myself and they never replied when I asked them about it. They also refunded the item I returned MINUS the holiday discount so I lost quite a bit of money in the whole process. When I tried to contact them inquiring why they would do that, again, no reply. Bad customer service.

My fave stop in Union square. I frequent this place often some stuff is a little pricey but totally worth it. Lynn in Timothy Oulton is amazing and always helps me out!

I love coming to this store just for the eye candy but never to buy. Their price point is way too much for my liking, and I prefer to shop at their warehouse in the Bronx to get more bang for my bucks. Whenever you can find a sale here, I say, Just Go for It!

ABC’s NYT ads first captured my attention when I was a kid. Overjoyed was I when I first stepped inside this grand and glorious store in the last millennium, and it exceeded my expectations. It remains a favorite destination for furniture, rugs and décor.
Here, we first spied New York State quarried slate service pieces, and they soon became our favorite items to gift to hosts. Moons ago, we were introduced to the heavenly chocolates of Michel Cluizel – an authentic French chocolatier – who has since moved on to a new location. And utterly charmed were we by the delightful, unusual Christmas ornaments that are not generally available elsewhere that we inspected during our most recent visit.
Whenever we are in this part of Manhattan, we make a point of bopping to ABC. It is a wonderful place to trend-​spot and see exclusive, whimsically-​designed items. Note, prices can be relatively high depending on the item.

Oh you fancy huh? Well you must be if you’re shopping here. Filled to the gills with some of the most beautiful and unique furniture and home decorating items, you’ll be sure to get compliments from all of your guests. Just be sure you have a healthy bank account, cuz this ain’t no IKEA!

Would have given ⁵⁄₅ stars, had ABC Carpet and Home not decided to nix it’s «traditional items.» Used to wend my way through a divine selection of antique French and Italian furniture (much from the 18^th century or emulating fabulous Gustavian style) and now find the treasure trove that had gloriously sprawled throughout an entire floor, is scrapped. Its replacement? «Contemporary traditional» or so its called. Poorly poured substitutes and cast replicas. Cannot understand why a stunning «near Paris flea market experience» was replaced by the ultimately inauthentic. Nonetheless, ABC Carpet and Home is a NYC tradition worth discovering.

They absolutely need to advertise the jewelry more it’s amazing. Had no idea you had jewelry.

Beautiful shop, awful customer service! I received a candle as a house warming gift that I didn’t care for the sent. I brought it into the store for a different sent and was quickly told, sorry all sales are final on a candle with a phony sympathetic tone. For a store that sells incredibly expensive items and also a store I’ve bought tens of thousands of dollars of overpriced furniture in, they will never have my business again all over the terrible return policy on a $ 42 candle. It’s a shame, I would have bought more for certain.
UPDATE: After seeing my review, ABC contacted me and put me in touch with the manager Angelo who couldn’t have been more accommodating and polite! He even went so far as to help me select a better sent. A complete turn around and very quickly. I have a renewed sense of their customer service!
As a tip, if buying a gift I would make sure you include a gift receipt.

After a really long search to find the perfect leather sleeper sofa for our home we decided to splurge on a custom sofa from ABC. A delivery survey team was sent to our home to make sure the sofa would fit before we completed the sale and, after the delivery team gave the thumbs up, we coughed up just under 4k and looked forward to our dream sofa arriving 2 – 3 months later.
Towards the end of the estimated delivery window we were given we called to get an update and were told the sofa was on it’s way and should arrive in NY in around 10 days. Great! We scrambled to sell our old sofa to make room for the new sofa, and waited for a call to arrange a delivery time. Only this call never came. When we called ABC to check in again, we were told there had been a mistake — the sofa actually hadn’t even been made yet, and there was going to be another month or two delay. Um. Ok. These things happen we suppose. They are kind enough to offer us 10% off our order for the inconvenience but don’t offer a loaner sofa. So we wait anxiously for the sofa to arrive, spending the rest of our summer sitting on our floor.
2 months later the sofa arrives and we watch the delivery crew struggle with the sofa that is clearly not fitting into our home. We are asked to sign a damage release so they can try to shove the sofa into our home. We refuse to do this — after all they were the ones that signed the paperwork saying it would fit. The sofa is taken away and ABC plans to have another company come in and disassemble the couch before it is brought in the following week. Obviously we don’t want to pay for this as we never would have purchased a sofa that didn’t fit. We finally get them to agree in writing to get the delivery company to pay for disassembly when they redeliver the piece and ABC agrees to pay for a future disassemble when we move since the sofa would be stuck in our home. We think this is fair, and cross our fingers all goes well.
It might have gone well had ABC not given orders to the delivery crew to make the sofa fit without the need for disassembly at all costs. We specifically asked the 4^th floor manager not to have the delivery men try this again. After being told the sofa wouldn’t fit by the previous delivery team, the new crew arrives and spends about an hour twisting and turning and shoving the sofa into a doorway that it’s clearly too big to fit anyway. The disassembly crew wasn’t even there as promised so this was never their intention. When the disassembly team is finally called and tagged in our sofa is sawed in half and reassembled inside. There are huge scratches and gouges in the leather along the outside of the sofa — no doubt a result of the decision to use force instead of logic.
After all of this ABC’s fix was to offer a small discount of $ 500 off a sofa that at the cause of their mistake is now damaged, scratched, gauged and cut in half. Not at all what I intended on purchasing when I walked into ABC and to me definitely not worth a $ 500 discount. When we pointed out that we had seen the same sofa in their warehouse prior to our custom order for around $ 1500 I was ignored and instead sent an updated invoice showing the $ 500 credit. When I asked to replace the sofa for a new one without defects the offer that I already had in writing to disassemble/​reassemble in the future was retracted. They literally left me with no options. I am so disappointed. I am now stuck with a very expensive damaged purchase. Not at all what I expected from ABC. I would never recommend this company to anyone nor will I be shopping here again.

I recently moved and needing area rugs for the new apartment. While I’m not able to spend the money necessary to buy the beautiful rugs in the ABC showroom, I had heard they have a «bargain basement». It was great. A huge selection, affordable and most important, I still felt like a valued customer. I ended up going there 3 times in close succession in order to buy all the rugs I needed. Thank you ABC! Btw, ABC Kitchen is my favorite restaurant in the entire city ;-)

Ce magasin est merveilleux tant il est grand, bien agencé et bien fourni !
Il y a 6 étages gigantesques et tous ont une thématique en fonction du style donc vous aurez à peu près de tout à tous les étages sauf au RDC qui est plus consacré à la déco et aux babioles (j’y ai trouvé des poupées chiffon magnifiques pour la somme de 250 € donc j’ai du les laisser là où elles étaient…).
N’importe qui (ayant quand même un bon budget) y trouverait son bonheur pour meubler son intérieur de A à Z, c’est «un peu» comme Ikea en version trop trop beau, trop trop bien fini et malheureusement donc trop trop cher !
ps: Au RDC il y a un escalier qui vous mèné à des tas de vêtements de créateurs incroyablement beaux, il faut absolument y faire un tour !

Connecting to ABC Kitchen as well as ABC Cocina, ABC Carpet And Home was a must stop for the Mr & I after our super-​scrumptious brunch.
Very eclectic mix of housewares, decorative items, & clothing, there was truly something to catch the attention, start a conversation & gaze in wonder
We saw lots of Indian-​patterned tablecloths, lots of picture frames & fun throw pillows. Wonderfully-​smelly candles & sachets… really, a little bit of everything Upstairs, they had clothing in the casual-​funky-​bohemian genre
If I had to categorize the place, I’d say it was a marriage of Pier One, Crate & Barrel, & Cost Plus World Market
Worth a looksee!

ABC is a magical store. However, can management PLEASE do something about the bathrooms?! I get that this is one of the few destinations in the area with public bathrooms, but seriously, every time I enter one, it REEKS. The store carries tons of lovely smelling aromatics; it can’t hurt to use them in the bathrooms. This is an upscale destination but the bathroom experience is seriously overlooked.

This place is a Mecca for the design and art enthusiasts. It’s a plethora of gorgeously designed materials from massive carpets and chandeliers to the tiniest and cutest trinkets you can lay your twinkling eyes into. Make sure to visit this place once you get to nyc area.

I love this place ! This place offers a variety of interior decorating ideas!
I think the most offensively thing was the usage of certain Hindu gods. For example, in the basement, why was there an edible Ganesh chocolate? I don’t see any other gods? Why is this allowed? It’s extremely offensively.
Overall this place offers many different aspects of natural, holistic products in terms of beauty products. There’s a cute café as well!

Super great store, it’s MASSIVE but everything is crazy crazy expensive.
It’s good to go to get ideas for what you would like to do at home.

First time here after all my many many visits to NYC, was actually heading over to Fishs Eddy and the big window full of goodles caught my eye. Walked in and basically had entered my shopping nirvana (can hear husband grown). I carefully take my time scanning every counter and rack before making any final purchase. I will say as I moved around and looked, most price tags weren’t visible on jewelry and finding anyone to help with prices seemed hopeless. I mean I hate being harassed in stores by clerks, but most of them were either busy deep in conversation or nonexistent. No worries I moved on to other items…
I found this beautiful booth in the back full of Tibetan object and jewelry where a lovely lady did approach me and ask if I needed help and assisted me. And I did make a purchase at that area. She also wrapped my item up with tissue and cloth and ribbon, in a lovely small package. I then found a cute bunny toy and there was a nice man behind that counter that helped me.
Off to one final stop from the beginning of my journey, near the front of the shop I’d seen some yoga clothes that I thought one of my daughters would like and I did finally find someone to help me purchase an item there. Upon buying a top I noticed in their counter they had these wonderful carved wooden animals. The gal pulled a few out, a Japanese artist who carved and hand painted each one. Perfect for the nursery of my impending grandson! She was very helpful. So all in all I was very successful in finding 3 very unique gifts that didn’t break the bank. The next trip back to NYC I must go back when I have more time, as my cousin informed me there were more floors to check out… oh no!

I love this store… they have beautiful and unique items that you can’t find anywhere else. They also have a great beauty section that carries organic makeup.
However, the employees must pride themselves on being stuck up snobs because anyone I have ever interacted with at this store it has been infuriating. One time, I was waiting at the jewelry counter with my sister to try on a ring. The woman working at the counter was chatting with a fellow co-​worker and literally ignored me. When I went over to her and asked if I could try a ring on, she acted like I was bothering her! While I did like the ring, I was so pissed that I didn’t buy it because I didn’t want to give her any sort of commission.
The employees at ABC Carpet and Home would benefit from a training in customer service (or just tell them their goal is to SELL things, not treat customers like dirt).

Eclectic and eye catching collection of housewares. I agree that the pricing can be a bit on the extreme side for some things, but in the end they do have some excellent and unique pieces for the home.
I also love the fact that you can get serious pieces of furniture here on deeply discounted clearance. Not that Ikea shit either… furniture crafted from actual wood! A few years back we bought a dining room table, chairs, and a credenza for 70% off… and it was made from wood harvested from an old British castle!
Oh yeah, be sure to check with a sales rep about the unpublished sales they have here and there. You can really rack up some savings when they occur.

Five Stars — for beautiful stuff, cool layout, and it houses the ABC restaurants (which I really enjoy).
Two Stars — seriously, for the prices! $$$$$ Wowee! Notecards were about $ 38 for a few. Crazy! Definitely made me feel like everything was out of reach financially, unless you were a black Amex card holder. Or maybe I didn’t explore enough of the store. Sigh.

This is a very interesting store to browse in, although for mere mortals, the prices are not realistic. There was a cute tin mug with a skull and cross bones that I liked and I had the audacity to pick up and check the price. $ 135 for a tin mug! I carefully set it back down and slowly backed out of the area. There were some awesome pillows that looked like crystals or rock on the fabric. $ 350 for a single pillow.
This place has super cool stuff to look at, but the prices certainly don’t make it my ideal place for shopping.
