A Tisket A Tasket Fruit & Gourmet Baskets was created as the gift basket division of CitiFloral Inc. 1986 by owner Jeff Gaster and Gene Burdge, who has extensive experience in the food basket industry. The company gained a fine reputation in the New York business community and developed a thriving business shipping baskets in New York and elsewhere in the US. We have always been experts at handling the seasonal demands of corporate gift giving. Recently, A Tisket A Tasket reestablished its internet business with the introduction of its new website.

Business Owner

Jeff G. and Gene B. started CitiFloral in 1986 as the dream of creating a popular floral and gift basket emporium in the heart of the close-​knit village of Yorkville on the Upper East Side of Manhattan – a little shop of flowers in mammoth New York City. The business was created totally anew from the ground up – but Jeff and Gene developed an excellent reputation and devoted following in the community and city.

Gene brought extensive experience in the business. Jeff had a complimentary background as an attorney (at the law firm Stroock & Stroock & Lavan) and businessman. He was educated at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and Harvard Law School. Jeff survived a traumatic brain injury in a robbery at our location in 2009, is doing better than ever, and continues a consummated devotion to excellence and service in the business he’s nurtured for 30 years.
