Food is super delicious. Best soul food seafood I ever had. Mac and cheese is to die for; candied yams were perfectly done. Also had a lemonade. Staff was very polite and homely. Line was Long but wait was worth it. The limited seating could become a problem but food is packed so nicely great for outdoor eating at a park bench of some sort. Beware of flirty cashier lol; told me my ID picture was very nice and than said the same to my friend.

I went yesterday, and it was perfection. I waited a while for my fish, but it was dropped straight out of the oil. Everything was as flavorful as always.

The catfish and shrimp was season perfectly. The place has tables for dinning in the day or night. Place is clean and friendly. The cashiers are very helpful and friendly they help you with the different selections. Definite a good soul food restaurant in Harlem… I’m recommended this great restaurant.

I’ve been craving seafood for the past month or so. I was in the area getting my hair done with my daughter. I said to myself«what am I going to eat?» Then I thought about this place! Granted it was already getting late! I checked what time ATOS closes on Unilocal and it said 10:00! I got out of the salon and hurried across 125th street for some fish! I got their at exactly 9:55 pm. and as I was approaching the counter to give my order the guy cashier said to me «we’re closed», then I responded it’s not 10:00 he said that he basically ran out of everything that was on the menu! I had to laugh at his sorry behind because there was two other people inside the restaurant who had ordered! I work in the food industry and I personally feel that his behind was lazy and didn’t want to stay a few more minutes for another order. That’s fine though, I took my business right to Sylvia’s on Lenox Ave. ATOS will never get my money!!!

I ordered a fish and shrimp dinner to go about 1 week ago. The shrimp was tasty BUT the fish was bad. I mean bad. I ordered it to take away and my car had a bit of a fishy smell after minutes. I took the bag home and opened it up and the smell got worse. I couldn’t even eat it. Thing is, you had to have known that the fish was bad when you put it in the fryer. No way a person could have missed that odor. But it went in my plate anyway. Needless to say I was disappointed. On top of that they wait tends to be on the long side. 2 stars for the shrimp 0 for the poor quality fish

This is a great spot to check out if you want good soul food. It is a trip venturing out to Harlem but it wasn’t too bad of a drive. Living out in Long Island we’re not exposed to this quality(it’s slim pickings out here!) I ordered the 4pc Whiting Dinner, which came with two sides… I chose Yams and Mac n Cheese. Everything was seasoned well. I would come back/recommend to others.

Fish n chips were very good. But customer service was terrible. Rushed to order food. Poor attitude

The service and food have gone down. Definitely not worth the price for their location and they need to take lessons in customer service. I asked for to go cartons as I was traveling to jersey and didn’t want my food in the wax paper as it was going to get cold. The cashier looked at me and said you will have to pay $ 1 for each carton. Not fair as I just spent $ 83 in catfish, shrimp and whitings which were a salty, greasy mess. Never again will I patronize this place.

A pretty solid food joint in the heart of Harlem, though the interior leaves a lot to be desired. Service is a bit sluggish, but portion sizes are huge and prices are pretty cheap overall. I came here a few months ago with a coworker prior to a meeting at the nearby state building. Even if you’re a vegetarian like myself, you can make a meal out of their generous sides. I had their collard greens, mac and cheese, fried okra, and their rice and peas. You definitely don’t need to get as much food as I did, but I was feeling quite gluttonous that day, and I managed to eat everything, though my stomach was absolutely killing me later. Small price to pay for some darn good eats, I say.

I love this place. The food is one of the best in Harlem. It is very unfortunate about the dept of health situation. Im sure the restaurant wasnt 100% perfect but for the health dept to show up so many times within the past short months, I am convinced that their might be some foul play… it doesnt sound right to me. From my experience this seafood spot has always been busy and with a long line but the food is worth the wait!

I got sick when I found out that they had been shut down, Flies, rats, and improperly chilled food. It was crazy. It was good while it lasted. Ghetto but food was good lol. But I won’t be returning.

Unprofessional is where I’d start, but I did not anticipate 5 star service in a takeout environment. This is a hot mess. Go in because it’s an around the way hood restaurant, but don’t travel there cause the service and food are subpar. We need to do better Harlem.

Hmmm… I must have went on the wrong day. After finding out that FISHERSOFMEN shut down, I decided to give this place a try due to recommendations. They have an extensive menu, so I decided to get some(whiting) fish & chips, and some yams /mac n’ cheese… The batter on the fish was VERY bland — no flavor at all. I also wasn’t a fan of the yams /mac n’ cheese(do they put agave nectar on the yams??) — Well, I don’t want to mess up anyone going to this place and trying them out, since everyone has different taste buds. It’s pretty crowded in there too. I give them 3 starts, since I wasn’t crazy about the taste of the food — but their customer service is great. They get you in & out of there as fast as they can with a smile.

The fish is always perfect and the collard greens too. The mac n cheese is inconsistent and dry today. The potato salad needed salt but after that it was good. I come here for the whiting fish always delicious!!!

All time fav, and now that I know they sell catfish. I’ll be here all the time. Some may feel it’s pricey, but it’s worth it

To have a soul food spot in Harlem is nothing outside of the norm, but to find a restaurant that has Maryland Blue Crabs? Now that is special. When I walked in, the line was long but the menu was detailed. The cashier and the order person were very funny and kept the flow moving. I ordered a seafood platter that took about 35 minutes to make but it was well worth it. The best part of the meal was the corn with crabs… perfect combo. I can not wait to go back! Best seafood spot in Harlem… Uptown baby!

THISPLACEISLEGENDARYINHARLEM! I grew up in this area. I used to go here every weekend with my family when they were on the corner of Madison and 125th St. I am 30 now and I still go there. Mac and cheese, Yams and Collard greens is my favorite. It still taste the same and just as amazing as thirty years back. Do not be discouraged by the look of the place. Although, it is not as prestige as many top rated restaurants, the food is great, inexpensive and well worth a visit. I would do Take out.

When I went, no line! GLORY! A friend of mine recommended this spot so I went the very next time I had a seafood craving. The menu can be overwhelming, so I got the whiting and chicken combo. That is SO much food! Four pieces of whiting and three chicken wings AND fries — I was eating it over a span of three days, my goodness. The staff was very nice and pleasant, they made sure you got your sauces(tartar, hot, ketchup) before you left the store, and they all had genuine smiles. It was nice to see that in neighborhood. Next time I stop by, I’ll go for some shrimp and lobster tails There appears to be about 8 tables downstairs and maybe a dining room upstairs? Not sure though.

One of my favorite seafood places to come to in the city. The line is long, the wait can be a just as long as the line to order. However is makes up for the good fresh right out the pot food. And the guys behind the counter makes up for the wait time too. Cuties.
