Description

Specialties

We love typewriters, tape recorders, record players, cameras, viewmasters — and gadgets galore. Musical instruments, especially guitars, accordions and mandolins. We are a tiny shop filled with anything and everything you might need for your home, movie, play or fashion shoot. Lamps, lamps and more lamps, unusual items from the turn of the century till the 70’s. Photos, fabrics, furniture and art. Jewellry, hats and some vintage fashion. Men’s accessories, smoking paraphanalia, flasks and compasses. Cuff links and tie bars and razors. We are available to re-design your home using existing items, design a set for you, or give a goat — on your behalf — to a needy family in Nepal. ($ 50 for 2).

Ten years ago, owner Beverly Bronson started an orphanage in Nepal, and splits her time between New York and Nepal. She is grateful to her many loyal and faithful customers for their support and generosity.

Beverly B.

Business Owner

Beverly Bronson opened A Repeat Performance in 1980.

In 1999 she went to Kathmandu, Nepal and found two abandoned children and became their guardian. In 2001 She opened Ghar SIta Mutu — House with a Heart — a home for abandoned children and free training centre for destitute women. (www.gharsitamutu.org)

Customers of A Repeat Performance have been helping support this orphanage ever since.

Before Beverly travels to Nepal (twice each year) she fills her shop to overflowing with merchandise of old, to delight and entertain her customers.

Uptown has MOMA — downtown has BEVMA — Beverly’s East Village Museum of Artifacts. Yes — most things are for sale.
