Great neighborhood place when you can never make it home before whole foods closes. Sweet people working there– impressive selection of beer –and– any organic, gmo/gluten free cookies you could ever think of!

I love the place. Nice people, good selection, and they have some weird things(good cheeses, fancy cookies) to surprise you. Of course it’s pricey — it’s a 24-hour place on UES, people — but you can pretty much get what you want when you want it. And the people are nice.

Nice people, but way overpriced. and they sell old food. One more than one occasion I bought items in their freeze section that were freezer burnt and completely inedible after cooking. Can’t buy their food anymore.

I personally would not come back here again though I can see why you would. My reasons are: 1. It is over priced but then again, what do I expect, it comes with the area. 2. The attitude of the owner is not welcoming. I personally don’t want to feel I am trespassing if I am paying for goods. Pros: 1. Large selection of regular and craft beers so if you are going to a house party nearby, you have ample options. 2. There are organic food/healthy options you can bring to the house party.

Overly priced and poor customer service. I’ve lived In the neighborhood for a while and have given it quite a few tries but same result every time unfortunately…

This is not a bad store; great selection, even for vegetarians and vegans. Horribly overpriced, of course. The reason I am not giving this place more stars has to do with the repeatedly bad quality of their flowers. The roses, while reasonably priced, are often not fresh; I have on several occasions witnessed roses disintegrate and fall off their stems as soon as I unwrapped them. Once, I went back to the store, requested a refund or another fresh bouquet of flowers. The staff person who interacted with me was unfriendly, but agreed to let me replace my old flowers with a new bouquet. In summary then, while this store generally has good quality items(except for the roses), due to the overpricing of most things, there is a consistent sense that one is being cheated.

I just moved to the UES and was glad to see a 24 hour bodega nearby for my beer runs. $ 10 for a 6 pack of coors light is just ridiculous. I won’t be returning here.

Decent bodega on the UES. Nice flower selection. Carries some upscale types of groceries, and hard to find items. Open 24 hours. Always has self serve hot coffees in the front, usually a plain and flavored type. Has a dairy/fruit section and also a prepared foods area. Quality is iffy at best. Prices are a bit higher then supermarkets, but that is true with most bodegas.

An upscale-ish neighborhood bodega. Pros: Pleasant, efficient cashiers, attractive interior, better-than-usual snacks, beer, and frozen selections. Good staples. Nice coffee bar/pastry section near the front. Hard-to-find Israeli candy near the registers. Tiny ice cream treats in a case near the door. Cons: Poor dairy, fruit/veg selection. The prepared foods have given me reason for suspicion; be careful here. Uncommunicative staff does the stocking(maybe it’s a language problem). Flowers are reasonably priced, but, like all bodega flowers, are not long for this world.

**My review is solely for their flower section** I came across 3rd Avenue Garden when I was looking for flowers to buy for the apt. They had a huge variety of flowers and not too badly overpriced(as most places on UES seem to be). At one point I needed flowers that were in the back that I couldn’t reach… the guy who was SUPPOSED to be working and dealing with flowers was lazy and chatting to his boy on the sidewalk… but when I went in to ask for help the owners promptly made sure that someone helped me. This I liked. I paid for my flowers and was excited to come home and make several bouquets. Although the flowers looked beautiful that night I can’t say that for the next day. The roses started dying shortly there after and flowers that can usually sit in a vase for 2 weeks began to wilt on day 3. Although the flowers are pretty and might catch your attention don’t expect them to live too long.

I frequent Third Avenue Garden quite often. It’s usually where I shop for milk and eggs, items I forgot to order from FreshDirect… and last minute snacks and frozen items. It’s tiny but seems to have almost everything from baking soda to tomato sauce. The prices are a bit higher than supermarkets but I suppose I’m paying for the convenience! They have deli style meats and cheese, along with fresh produce and pre-made salads and entrees. They used to have Toffuti coffee flavored popsicles but I haven’t seen them in the freezer section in a while. Oh and they are open 24 hours! Which is great for late night runs for whatever it is that I’m craving or wine.
