Photo Tech Depot

I called Sony to see if I could schedule an appointment to bring in my alpha dslr camera for a sensor cleaning. I remember there being a service department in their Madison Ave store for their computers, so I thought I’d be bringing my camera there. They referred me to Photo Tech Depot who is an authorized Sony repair services vendor. They handle repairs on a first come first serve basis. Granted there wasn’t much to mull over my request, but while on line, there were professional photographers, hobbyists, as well as tourists with far more serious problems with their cameras and lenses. Everyone behind the counter seemed knowledgeable and courteous. Everyone ahead of me felt relieved to hand over their problems to these guys once they were given a prognosis, an estimated turn around and an estimated cost of repairs. My cleaning took a couple of hours, and only because I had dropped by lunch time and the technician who’d be working on it was on break. The cost was reasonable. I’d definitely go back again, Oh, their address though is 360 West 36^th. between 8^th & 9^th.
