History

Established in 1956.

In 1956, fresh out of the Army, Jim and his wife, Carmella, purchased the Harley dealership he once worked for and, it should be noted that it was one of the oldest H-D® dealerships in the country at that time.

Jim and his wife, who served as Office Manager since the beginning of the business in 1956, set up shop on South Robinson Avenue. Three years later, he purchased his own building on Route 9W and Bridge Street, also in Newburgh.

Twelve years later, in 1972, Jim built a new 20,000 sq.ft. facility conveniently located on Union Avenue near Rt. 207. This spacious building has since grown to over 26,000 sq. ft and is known as Jim Moroney’s Cycle.

Jim’s son, Patrick Moroney, and grandson Jim Moroney, now run the dealership that has become one of the largest dealers in the Greater New York Area.
