Morgan Creek is a very scenic little winery tucked into the Minnesota countryside.(So scenic in fact that there was a wedding there the day we visited.) If you do the tour you might get George, the owner, who is also from the Schell’s family.(His brother currently runs Schell’s.) The wine is pretty good and there’s a small food menu in the tasting room. In the summer they have jazz a couple nights per month and although I haven’t done it I can see how it would be popular given the setting.

About a dozen miles south of New Ulm(that’s New Ulm south, east to the rest of the world) is the Winery. The cab from the Holiday Inn was about $ 25 with tip. The wines are more in the German, use some local varieties, and thus are not the typical French/Cali style most are accustom to. However, they are, for the most part, very good. I suggest sampling by the glass. Don’t miss the rose’. No I haven’t lost my mind. But don’t think rose, think sangria. On a warm summer night, it was tasty. The food is more in the apps/tapas style. The items are well used for snacking and go well with the wine.
