With in the last month I’ve spend around $ 7k at Home Depot. When it was time for me to return something it was a huge problem for them. The manager was very rude and unknowledgeable for a manager. Stating that ordering an item that they don’t carry in store is the same as a «custom» order therefore I cannot return it. They basically rewrote the return policy as I stood there because they did not have the answers to my questions. Trying to reword phrases to justify why a couldn’t return my item. It was 30 days into a 90 return window. So therefore, there shouldn’t have been a problem. But there was. So for anyone going to Home Depot… Buyer beware, because no is there to «help» when you need it most, even if your a loyal customer. But they’ll take you’re money without any hesitation.

I have never written a Unilocal review — but I thought it was important because my experience at New Rochelle Home Depot vastly differs from the majority of these reviews. In addition to getting great prices on kitchen floor tiles and wall tiles, all the staff we dealt with were very helpful and friendly. Our questions were answered in a professional manner and several employees went out of their way to help. Highly recommend checking out this Home Depot.

Management needs to give some of their employees a customer service skills training course. If that don’t work pay them better or something because it’s obvious there’s an issue somewhere.

Employees are generally courteous, and I can usually find what I need. The garden center is always staffed with pleasant, nice people when I visit. Home Depot by design can be a bit much when you’re looking for something basic; a few questions usually points me in the right direction and I get what I need and get out. I also appreciate the hot dog man at the entrance.

I ordered a pair of doors for my home from Home Depot, New Rochelle on October 2^nd. It is now ¹²⁄₁₂ and I have no doors. I did all of this thru HD as I wanted it dealt with as soon as possible, paying a significant installation fee… I know the doors arrived by Thanksgiving as i went in to the store to follow up on the order. I have since phoned Rita (CS contact at HD to address any issues with my order) several times to follow up on my order with no response. I called the door department who put me thru to Rita… who was not there… and yet again did not call back. I checked my contract and it says the installer will call to arrange install (so I called them as well)… I could have ordered the doors, paid half the price for the install (got a quote) and gotten it done in less time and probably with less effort than this… Extremely poor service… very disappointed!

Today, I had a horrendous experience at Home Depot in New Rochelle.
I had to order two pallets of tiles. That was 90 minutes ago. Now I am still waiting for those tiles to be loaded into my van.
There is no excuse for this. It shouldn’t have to take 90 minutes to give me 40 boxes of tiles that are in plain sight. The forklift operator even took it upon himself to get other things besides our order while we were waiting there for a very long time.
Some of the people that work here are very nice, but this is the worst experience at Home Depot that I’ve ever had. Maybe time and patronage mean nothing to the employees at Home Depot new Rochelle but many of us who shop at Home Depot have clients who do value their time.
I hope I never have to return to this Home Depot again.

AVOID. This place is a bunch of unhelpful shuffling crap workers who can’t or won’t help. Also, the store’s computer inventory is not synced with the stock on the shelves. AVOID.

Home Depots are pretty much the same everywhere — this one gets my business when I need to go, just for the simple fact that they have a better parking lot than the closer Yonkers location.
I live in Yonkers, but due to Costco, Stu Leonard’s, and now Ridge Hill being next or near to that Home Depot location, I prefer to come to New Rochelle’s location just for the simple fact of being comfortable in their larger parking lot.
That’s pretty much where the satisfaction ends. The most notable problem with this location is pretty much the employees. From ghetto trash to the lazy to the employees who simply have no clue to where anything is, the employees in this location are just putrid. Often only friendly with each other and then the attitude comes out if you happen to interrupt their socialization to ask them a question.
Too many times, just trying to find an employee in here can take several minutes alone. Other times, when I’ve asked where something was (and I don’t ask too often because I can usually find things myself without having to resort to asking unfriendly employees), I’m usually pointed in the wrong direction. I love the random pointing from some and the «over there» from others. If I’ve been here 10 times in my life, only 1% of the time has any employee actually been halfway decent or remotely helpful. Not a good percentage at all.
I once tried to get a Home Depot store card and after having to wait for this deliberately slow worker plug in my info (which was written clear as day), I was taken aback when my last name was spelled wrong on the card that I got in the mail. So, I took the card back to the store and another employee apparently retyped my info in to the computer WHILE HOLDING MY DRIVER“S LICENSE mind you — only to receive a replacement card in the mail with my last name spelled wrong AGAIN. I have a 4 letter last name by the way, so from the first person getting one of the letters wrong to the second adding a 5^th letter I just don’t know what to say about the hiring practices at this location. It’s piss poor.
As far as stocking, I’ve usually found what I was looking for (myself), so I have no problems with poor stock.
Out of desperation one day, I did try the hot dog guy located in the front of the store and his hot dogs tasted ok.
Really, the main problem here is the employees. I guess you get what you’re willing to pay for and hiring inept workers seems to be the thing these days for retailers, but it’s just plain sad. I would say to avoid, but sometimes Home Depot is the only place that carries a particular item — so good luck in finding that item on your own, because that’s how it’s mostly going to be.

I feel compelled to write this review for 2 reasons. First, the staff here was overwhelmingly friendly and helpful. Secondly, there are so many negative reviews regarding the staff that I simply didn’t experience.
I ordered a toilet online for in-​store pickup. When I arrived the toilet was not ready yet and the woman behind the counter and a man went to go get it for me. While I waited I had at least 4 people come up to me and ask if they could help. Typically when I go to a home depot I have to hunt someone down but it was definitely not the case here. They even gave me bottled water while I waited 5 minutes for the toilet.
I have to take 1 star off due to the in-​store pickup order not being immediately ready upon arrival. Otherwise, I was very impressed with this store.

I go to this location because it’s more convenient for me to drive to… That’s the only reason. Employees aren’t very knowledgable. I have had to make several trips back to the store to return an item that was incorrectly recommended to me and having to exchange it for the correct product, or having to go back to purchase an additional item because they failed to mention another part that I needed… Can never find anyone to assist you. And as of recently they have these annoying security cameras in most aisles that ring very loudly at any sense of motion. Very annoying. Moral of the story, go to the store knowing exactly what you need for your project… otherwise good luck!

IRay deserves a Customer Helper of the Year Award. Going above and beyond to find out why an advertised sale item, we made a special trip here to pick up was not on display. Very disappointed at having to repeat my request to three separate helpers that did little to search for the 50GAL Brute Recycle Bin on wheels and suggested I try another HD location ! IRay came along just as we turned out of the isle to head out.
Over all, IRay spent 45 plus minutes coming back every 15 minutes with a progress report. At last he found them as he wheeled them into our hands. In the meantime, We shopped around and found other items we needed. Thank YOU IRay, we appreciate all your hard work and dedication as The Best Home Depot Helper at the NR location!!!

For one thing, they clearly don’t ID people when they use credit cards, or just take credit card numbers because my debit card account was stolen, but went through just fine at this location! I’m disgusted that in this day and age of identity theft and fraud they would allow someone to use a stolen credit card. Most reputable places now ID you when you use either an unsigned credit card or just a card in general. Even kohls ID’s me. Unfortunately, I didn’t respond fast enough to my bank so the transaction went through, but my bank did call me to verify and I will be refunded the entire amount considering I have never stepped foot in this establishment. (And never will for that matter.) Poor judgement on your part, Home Depot. Be more careful in this day and age.

Wow… just don’t order anything major from here. On two seperate occassions we made orders that were never communicated to the vendor.
Ordered kitchen counter granite and had a whole big back and forth where HD said they put in the order and the granite vendor had no idea what they were talking about. It seemed HD was in the wrong, they made a lot of flimsy excuses, but I couldn’t be sure it wasn’t just the vendor or just a one-​time hiccup. That is until today.
A month ago I ordered a door. When we went to pick it up on the date on my invoice, we were told to come back in a week. And were told that the next week too, and then for a third time yesteday all without any explanation. Turns out it was the SAME EXACT ISSUE. They simply did not order the door from the vendor. The vendor had no record of the PO. Of course that’s not what they told my wife when she called today. Whoever effed up must have put in a comment right then and there that the door was shipped but damaged. Unfortunately that’s not what the vendor said nor did anyone say that when we tried to pick up the door on every single occasion. Then she calls and ask them to cancel and gets transferred to numerous departments and repeatedly disconnected /​sent to some anonymous voicemail. Only when I had my credit card company on the phone with me saying I would dispute the charge if no cancellation did I make any headway with customer service (the bank dispute department called and got a customer rep on the line for me). And the regular customer service reps threatened to charge me with a re-​stocking fee and said I could only cancel when the door got there… a month later. Hours of phone time later I at least got a manager to half-​heartedly to admit what happened and cancel my order sans restocking fee and waiting for them to order and receive a door I no longer want from them.

I echo other sentiments about this place: Worst Customer Service! Does corporate read these reviews? When will they get it right?!
Paint dept on a sunny Spring Sunday morning. A line of people with 1 guy. I stop someone with an orange apron who is walking by. Does he see the mayhem? He calls over loud speaker for Danny. Danny is pissed that he got called & proceeds to spend the next 10 minutes arguing with the lone guy — why didn’t he call him personally?! Unprofessional!

Worst customer service ever! As I type this I have been on hold with them for 36 minutes, I have been «transferred» 4 times to a department to check on ceiling tiles, only to be reconnected with the same operator who can’t look at a computer to tell me if they are in stock. All she keeps telling me is «lots going on here– hold please».
The management staff really needs to take a look at the reviews for this location and be ashamed of the job they are doing.
Also– I’m still on hold.

This is the worst Home Depot I have ever been to. I absolutely hate going here because they never have ANYTHING! They are constantly out of the more popular items. The product line breadth and mix in this store is abysmal, they have maybe one or two choices of something; that’s if they even have what you are looking for in the first place. Which they usually don’t. I have left this store disappointed and empty handed more often than not, unfortunately they have no competition anywhere nearby so you basically have no other option but to come here. Don’t bother asking for help either, the employees hate to be bothered by your presence. You’ll get better advice on how to do something from Google and YouTube. I know there are good Home Depots out there, I’ve been to them and they are glorious! This particular store is not one of those. It straight up sucks.

I’m not gonna say «don’t go here» because frankly it’s the closest Home Depot for me… but I do wind up leaving the store pissed off and overwhelmed because of the poor customer service. I always have to go on a hunt for someone to help me. I don’t wanna call my recent cashier out but basically just so HDR management is aware… I bought a bunch of individual 4“x4″ ceramic tiles and the cashier just stacked them and put them in a plastic bag. I was like «are those gonna be ok like that?» thinking she’d find some kind of cushioning for them like paper or bubble wrap, but she said «oh yeah you’re right,» and just simply doubled the plastic bag. I was like «umm oh… ok» like THAT’s gonna work?!

Needed some fasteners to put up my pictures. There was such a large choice of items to pick. The staff was very helpful and gave me some information on the best choice for my job.
