Vieux Carre’ Wine & Spirits

Family run wine/​spirits shop right in the heart of the French Quarter. Since many Nola restaurants have reasonable corkage fees, we went to pick up some bottles, which they delivered to the hotel. Good selection of wines (not super extensive but that was fine) at decent prices, many choices for around $ 20-​$ 25 which was what we were looking for.

Super disappointed with this place. Ordered a bottle of chilled champagne to be delivered to a hotel (called a day in advance). Was assured it would be chilled and arrive by a certain time. Was delivered warm and 4 hours late. Not happy.

What a cute little gem! My girlfriends and I stayed at a hotel nearby and happened to come across this place. Saw the chalk board sign outside that read $ 3 glass of wine… so why not! We walked in thinking it was a bar or something but it’s a liquor store that has a HUGE selection of wine!
Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted by an old Italian man, Mr. Blaze (sp?) dressed in a suit. He asked if we wanted samples of wine, but since we were there for that already, we just ordered a glass each. It was a red Argentinian wine. We sat at the one and only table situated in the front of the store with 4 chairs. Because it was lunch hour on a weekday, we sat there and had the pleasure of witnessing the daily lives of the locals here! Workers from the courthouse across the street, construction workers, retail store clerks, would come in with their bagged lunches or to-​go lunches, greeted by Mr. Blaze, have a short chat, purchase a drink (wine, beer, water or sodas) and leave. Some would sit with us at the table eating their lunches and made small talk with us. It was one of the most entertaining people watching event I’ve ever experienced.
As old as Mr. Blaze was, he had no hesitation climbing on stairs and stocking the shelves. His store also sells local spices, snacks and just lots and lots of beverage selections. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money at the bars, just come here and grab a few bottles and take it back to your room and pre-​drink!
Just note that they do close earlier in the evening.

The owners were really nice and even gave me a tasting of the Moscato which was really good. I went at 9 pm and was still able to purchase some wine although they close at 8 pm.

Excellent prices, great selection, friendly service, all in a quaint (quirky?) spot that’s much bigger than it looks from the outside. I can recommend this spot unequivocally. I hear they deliver, but then I’d miss the fun of looking!

This is a great place to find craft beer in the Quarter. Prices are comparable and not inflated like many others in NOLA.

Had a last minute request to find a special rye whiskey (High West double rye) as a present in New Orleans, but didn’t have a car (or time) to travel far to find it. This place had it in stock and at reasonable price. Very convenient location in French Quarter.

Nice selection of wine in the $ 13-​$ 20 range and some classic splurges including a good variety of bubbles. Decent selection of craft beers to choose from as well. This is where I go after work to pick up a bottle or three of a nice Italian red blend I happened upon my first trip there. My everyday wine comes from a Bota Box from Rouses, so it’s nice to splurge .
Liquor, cigarettes and various accoutrements as well and a lovely location on Chartres just down from K-Paul’s.

Great lil shop with a great selection. Super friendly staff. We will stop in again on our next trip. Very cool street to walk around.

Awesome customer service !!! Ordered a delivery to the marriott a couple days before I was coming to town. They were very helpful. They even delivered cases of water and mixers for our alcohol. They were a few minutes late with delivery but they sure made up for it. Highly recommend when needing alcohol delivered in the French quarter !

A reasonable place to find liquor and wine in the quarter. Better than some of other shops in the area with reasonable prices.

They have a great wine selection with very good prices and they deliver! They have wines you can’t find anywhere else.

Outstanding service, amazing courtyard and a bartender that cares like he is an owner (Will), drink special on the chalkboard brought us in, fresh watermelon… yummy in this heat

Price of Jim Beam $ 18 best I found in French quarter great service great family business. $ 6 smokes and they deliver!!! Gonna hit them up every time I’m down here.

Great selection of liquor. Prices were lower than some of the other stores in the area. Employees were friendly and offered some suggestions and samples.

AMAZING folks here and selection! Great customer service and help from 1,000 miles away, Ruby was great! I was missing a very important family birthday in New Orleans and needed a bottle of Champagne sent to the room. The hotel didn’t offer that and after lot of searching i stumbled upon Vieux Carre and they were able to delivery the bottle of champagne I wanted (at a great price!) and actual champagne flutes for me! I will def use them again

I live in the neighborhood and LOVE this place. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Great selection of wine, liquor and beer. They’ll even mix you a «go cup» when you check out!

This is a French quarter gem. Although it appears to be a tiny place from the outside, once you actually walk in you’ll realize there is much more stock than you’ve ever imagined. Wine is the focus, however they carry a full line of liquor, beer, soda, mixers and even some lovely snacks.
They feature an excellent selection of champagne and if you don’t see something– just ask– they are likely to have it! On the chance that they don’t have something they are happy to bring it in for you.
Given that it is located in the French Quarter you would expect to pay outrageous prices… right? Well– they are very fair in their pricing and even offer discounts and some delivery as well!
Highly recommended.

Great little liqour store and just a few block from Jax brewery shops.
It’s very easy to miss if you are not looking for it. I was looking for something other than beer in a can to drink while walking around the French quarter.
We had stopped at another liqour store across from Café Du Monte and gotten some «fruity» alcohol drinks previously and liked them.
This store has far fewer selections, but the clerk more than made up for it with his friendly service and upbeat attitude.
Enjoyed talking to him and got an orange drink that was pretty good with 8% alcohol.
Prices were good compared to the water– downed plastic cup beer from bourbon.
