Wish I had read reviews before having my sons car towed to your shop. Seems you like to take advantage of college students from out of town. The 120.00 diagnostic fee was steep, but wouldn’t have been so bad if you didn’t try to gauge us with an estimate of 1,000.00 for a repair that can be done, parts and labor, for $ 400.00. You made it extremely difficult and stressful to get the car back when we told you we couldn’t afford your rates. What a disappointing experience and a waste of 120.00 dollars!

I brought my Bmw m5 to figure out why I was losing power. I would press the gas pedal and my car would delay on giving me power. There solution was my oxygen sensors were bad and quoted me 2k for repair. I payed and picked up my vehicle and called the owner/​mechanic stating that it is having the same problem he stated «your car has to warm up before running smoothly». So I took it to another shop and they showed my it my mass air sensor and it was 250 $ to repair vs 2k. Well I waisted my money and they did not know what they were doing. Take your car to them with caution I recommend if you have a Bmw take it to a exclusive Bmw shop! Good luck

Meh, you win some, you lose some.
PROS: Very friendly, prompt service.
CONS: Not saving any money by having car serviced there. The services they quoted me were within $ 100 of taking it to the dealership, so I’ll just take it to the dealership. :(
For the record, the car is an 06 Mercedes CLK. I visited this location based on reviews from our realtor, and another Unilocal reviewer.

Charged $ 400 for a new battery.
We had our Jeep towed to Uptown Auto Specialist when the battery died and we were unable to open the hood to jump it. It was clear the cable for the hood latch was stretched out. After working on it for 3 hours, they called and let us know it would cost $ 800 to fix. No one asked permission to work on it and no papers were signed before the work began. I am not sure how a group of specialized mechanics took 3 hours to open a hood and change a battery but there you have it.
When I went to pick up the Jeep, declining changing the hood latch because we were told replacing the battery only would cost the low low price of $ 400 (I can do math — so it costs an additional $ 400 to change the wires for a hood release?), I was asked to sign the paperwork giving permission for the technicians to work on the car and agreeing to a $ 120 diagnostic fee. After the work had been. This is absurd.
After taking the Jeep back home, the air conditioning isn’t working and the radiator light is on.
Needless to say, I will not be taking any vehicles back to this place or recommending it to anyone else. If you don’t have a luxury car DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE.

Always professional, reliable service for our BMW and Mercedes. Can be flexible with hours, work scheduling for special cases, and regular customers. Patient with quirky jobs, like having an overly-​hand-​creamed engagement ring slip off and jam the steering mechanism. Mechanics have a sense of humor. Our go-​to spot for high-​value work. Getting in and out of their parking lot onto the River Road is an act of natural selection or prayer (whatever has worked for you). Patient with work delivery updates. They rely on parts delivery from dealers, etc., so they get delayed more than s dealer would, but their low overhead keeps the price down. Din’t expect concierge or day spa service to be included, this place is tightly focussed on auto repair.

They seem like they know what they’re doing. If you have a foreign made car, this is definitely the place to bring it. However I wasn’t too pleased when after I brought the car in to diagnose a transmission issue I got a surprise $ 97 bill. It would have been fair to tell me there is a that charge just to look at the car BEFORE anything was done.

I took my BMW here for a quirky electrical problem for an estimate. Had NO idea how expensive BMW’s are to have fixed once they are off warranty. I thought the estimate was a little high, so I took it to another «European» auto shop that gave me a slightly lower estimate. Well, they didn’t fix the problem, and actually seemed to set off a string of other problems. Bottom line, I ended up taking it back to Uptown Auto Specialist after going through 3 weeks of hell with this other shop. Paul and his crew took care of the issues in 2 days, and I’ve never had another issue. SO, my advice is, this place may cost a little more, but they guarantee their work, they know what they’re doing, and they’re honest. I’m never taking my car anywhere else.

CON ARTISTS, STAY AWAY! Unfortunately, there is no way to give a review of «0» stars. The owner of this shop, Paul, is a con artist. He will say anything over the phone to get you to bring your car into his shop. Once there, he will refuse to give you any price estimate and ask you to leave your car. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR WITH THIS MAN. He will later call you with an estimate that is 2 – 3 times the amount of the actual service. He tried to charge me $ 1200 for a $ 500 routine checkup. I did not authorize him to do ANY work on the vehicle and asked him to call me with an estimate before doing anything. When he called, at first, he said this is what needs to be done and when I told him not to do any work and that I would be picking up my car first thing in the morning he said he had already done it, COMPLETELY changed his story! I should not have to pay anything, but I am willing to pay the RIDICULOUS $ 95 diagnostic fee (what is there to diagnose I TOLD him what needed to be done!) Con artist and a liar. All I want to know is how vultures like him stay in business!!!

STAY AWAY! They significantly overcharged me for a transmission service. I wish I had read the other negative reviews on YP, Unilocal and City Search before leaving my car with them! Expensive lesson learned.

I recently brought my GTi in for a/​c work. They charged me $ 115 just to pop the hood, then quoted me $ 600 worth of parts and labor. On a hunch, I took my car to another shop only to find out it was a $ 30 repair. What a rip off. Don’t waste your time or money.
