Oh VA. You governmental institution that can be a hemorrhoid to all Veterans of all eras. I remember driving by this hospital pre-​Katrina and being kind of amazed (and naïve) that Veterans could be served in such a lovely place. Now. Well, I am going to admit that I am now on the receiving end of your services. I am grateful to have this option. There are better VA medical centers in neighboring states. And the promise of a shiny new hospital on Canal very soon. While I am grateful, I know that the options in other areas are far greater, and more options for clinics and such. But, with the state of affairs post-​Katrina, I am happy that there are the options that we do have. I am sure it is stressful with crowded conditions that I have witnessed, but you are here and you show up… on the weekdays, no weekend hours…
