I’d stay at more Bed and Breakfast places if they were all like this.
We were greeted by Lorraine and Robert. Lorraine took the time to explain the city to us and where to go which I loved since it was our first time there.
We felt right at home with this place.
Our room was phenomenal we had the white room. All the essentials were in the room even make up remover so I was quite impressed!
We were lucky enough to have two meals here and wow was it amazing. I’m never going to forget the taste of my shrimp and Mirliton bread pudding. It’s exactly the kind of food you want to eat when your visiting from California because I’ve never had anything like it.
We enjoyed the conversations with Lorraine and Robert. We also met some of the other lovely guests.
Lorraine also recommended her tour guide Naïf. He gave us a personal and informative tour of the cemetery.

It’s time I review my stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast! We were 4 girls, went to New Orleans for a hair show.
I could not have found a better place! The inn keepers were so sweet, the 2 course breakfast every morning was delicious, I got the recipe for the couscous :))) yay!!!
We stayed at the Marsalis — great little house, antique furniture, huge bath tub!
The location is perfect– out of the crowded streets, but still a short walk. We had a car and parked it in the court yard, very convenient .
I want to thank the inn keepers for recommending us so many restaurants and places to see, but mostly for introducing us to Neif– the tour guy! Make sure you get his number on the first day and he will tell you all about New Orleans…

We could not have been happier with our stay for our honeymoon. Everything was so blissful, perfect and beautiful. This is what we dreamed of and more than we hoped for. The Fountain cottage was absolutely amazing. So cozy and decorated beautifully. We felt like we were the only ones staying at the inn, but we know they were full come breakfast time! Had such lovely breakfasts there meeting the other guests and dining on the delicious bananas foster french toast. Special thanks to Lorraine for helping with our planning. Do yourselves a favor and book a walking tour (or 2 or 3!) with Naïf! He was the BEST! A true highlight of our honeymoon. We can’t thank the Jazz Quarters Inn enough for the amazing memories we made. Our honeymoon was truly amazing and we will treasure our time there forever.

We recently stayed here for our honeymoon and wow, what a great experience. First of all, our host, Charlie, was so kind, knowledgeable and welcoming as soon as we arrived — that alone started us off to a great trip. Secondly, the rooms are adorable. Tastefully decorated and very cozy and private. We stayed in the Mayfield suite and loved it. As for the food — omg, AMAZING. Every morning we were delighted to receive a killer 5 star breakfast. The breakfast alone is worth the money to stay here. The location is great, we were able to walk everywhere — French quarter, Frenchman Street, up to Jazz Fest at the park — it was very convenient. The only thing I have to complain about is the the shower was teeny tiny — but that alone isn’t a deal breaker for me. Who needs showers anyway ;)
Stay here, it’s well worth it!

My sister-​in-​law decided to tag along after I booked the White room for myself when visiting NOLA. I’m glad she was able to join me after all. We checked-​in to a very nice, quaint, and cozy room. One queen size bed with a small private bathroom. I would say if you don’t plan on staying in most the time this room would be ideal. It is right next to the breakfast dining area so if you are a late night person and like to sleep in then this room is not recommended. We were warned when checking in which I’m glad otherwise I would of been a little irritated by the noise and conversations that we can clearly hear in our room. The bed was soft and comfortable. The only major complaint I had was the room was stuffy when we entered and had to immediately turn the ac down within minutes it got too cold. So we had to play with the air a bit until we got it just about right. The best was the breakfast as the other reviews mentioned. We had the Cous Cous both days we stayed and the first day we had crepes and the second shrimp and grits. Very tasty! I would love to have a group or family get together here and get one of their cottages. Good location away from the rowdiness but not too far from the fun. It’s also right next to the park where you can pick up a taxi and a main bus line if you don’t feel like walking too far. This was my first visit to New Orleans and I’m already planning my next visit. What an amazing and resilient city! I read somewhere that New Orleans do not eat to live but live to eat! Nice!!!

Tennessee Williams once said, «America has only three cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland.» In a city teeming with vivacious PERSONALITY, it is morally wrong to stay in a soulless hotel, eating a COLD continental breakfast in the morning.
If you’re going to do New Orleans, do it RIGHT!
The New Orleans Jazz Quarters perfectly embodies the eclectic spirit of the energized city while providing the most winning breakfasts you’ll find in the south!
The Jazz Quarters is in the Tremé neighborhood and across the street from the immense Louis Armstrong Park! If the fountains and tropical gardens of the Jazz Quarters fail to supply enough serenity for you, just walk across the street to the park and Congo Square for some free scenic beauty and history!
After our shoe-​box sized room on our previous cruise, I thought I’d splurge and get some elbow space this time around. We stayed in the Mayfield Suite. The suite is very spacious and very — purple! It was vital to come back to a chilled room with a powerful air conditioner after a day of walking in the French Quarter! The intricately carved antique furniture helps you feel like you’ve escaped to a time where we honor artisans. The bed was comfy, the room quiet, and it was delightful hanging our clothes in the antique armoire!
The *only* complaint I have is the corner edge of the bed leading into the bathroom. The pointed wooden edge juts out and I whacked my shin bone in the same spot twice during our two night stay. Ah well.
The communication was seamless between us and the owners Vincent and Lola beforehand. When we arrived, Vincent spent time with us on the patio for a ‘mini vacation meeting’ where he provided maps and routes to take and *to avoid,* suggested restaurants, and got to know us — -all whilst drinking some wine! A+ customer service! You can’t find that anywhere else!
But let’s talk about the most important part of The Jazz Quarters – BREAKFAST! Our first course for breakfast was orange soaked cous-​cous with craisins and vanilla served with yogurt and honey. The idea was strange at first, but I was sold after my first bite! Second course was grits with caribbean pulled pork. I inwardly sighed and said, «Welcome to the land of good food.» Breakfast the next morning satiated my sweet tooth by serving bananas foster pancakes. The quality of breakfast here rivals the most expensive brunch restaurant in town.
They also had a special Chicory Coffee blend for guests. We loved it so much Lola actually sent us HOME with some ground coffee to remember them by! Have I impressed how amazing the owners Vincent and Lola are yet?
We stayed here last April and I am exceedingly proud to say we’ve booked another stay to come back THIS April as well! Laissez les bons temps rouler!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Jazz Quarters! We stayed in the «fountain» and we’re pleasantly surprised how nice it was. We found the other Unilocal reviews to be helpful in choosing our B&B and we’re not disappointed with our choice. Unlike your bigger name B&B, the breakfasts here are freakin phenomenal!!! Do not miss breakfast time! The staff is hospitable and extremely knowledgable about the area. Any questions and concerns you have about your stay are promptly answered with smiles and stories to share. We highly recommend you choose the Jazz Quarters. I would come again with my husband or just with friends. It’s a short walk to the quarter or the bus line for everything else! Thank you for everything!!! We miss it already (typing this while at the airport).

Thanks to the helpful reviews on Trip Advisor, my husband and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon. This B&B has so much character and is conveniently located within walking distance from the French Quarter (3 – 5 minute walk). We stayed in the Mayfield room which was clean and beautifully furnished/​decorated.
Charlie was our host and is basically a walking encyclopedia about NOLA. He recommended some very good restaurants/​bars. And his cooking skills?! Every breakfast he prepared for us was delicious– grits & grillades, bananas foster, and shrimp meuniere — everything tasted AMAZING. If you are honeymooners, let the host know — you will receive a complimentary bottle of champagne.
I highly recommend staying here if you plan on visiting New Orleans. Great location, wonderful food, and reasonably priced.

Had a wonderful time staying in the Louis Armstrong Suite which has it’s own kitchen, bathroom with a huge tub, living room area and 4 post bed. The complimentary breakfast was some of the best food we had in town (and we are foodies!). Plus it was fun to meet and chat with the other travelers sitting together at the breakfast table. The staff went above and beyond to make this an unforgettable stay. The garden, breakfast room and all the other cottages around the property were lovely too. Free bike rentals are available. Easy walking all around the French Quarter and great restaurants nearby. Highly recommended — this place is a hidden gem!

We stayed in the Armstrong cottage for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The cottage was lovely — plenty of space, clean, and comfortable. We had a different main course at breakfast each day, and they were all delicious! Plus, plenty of juice, coffee, cous-​cous, and sometimes mimosas.
If you drive in via the interstate, you pass through some neighborhoods that look a little scary. Don’t worry. The Jazz Quarters is located less than a block from the French Quarter, so you are able to walk everywhere. The Jazz Quarters is gated and has secure parking, so you will feel very safe inside.
Finally, the best part about the Jazz Quarters are the hosts, Vincent and Lola. They are very friendly, welcoming, and excellent sources of information! When we arrived, Vincent asked us what we wanted to do on our trip and recommended places to go and things to do! All the recommendations were excellent! They have maps of the different areas with restaurants they recommend marked. This was so helpful! It was also nice to be able to skip the touristy places, and head straight to the really good places!
We cannot recommend the Jazz Quarters highly enough! It was the cornerstone of an amazing visit to New Orleans!

The Jazz Quarters was pretty much everything you could ask for from a place to stay in New Orleans. The room we stayed in – The Marsalis – was enormous and absolutely gorgeous. The location was just north of the French Quarter, but thus also quiet – and literally across the street from Louis Armstrong National Park.
Vincent and Lola were wonderful hosts. They were more than willing to share their favorite places in the city and their recommendations were fantastic. Even more than that, they were fun to be with and talk to which meant that breakfast was a wonderful experience. We often spent more than an hour at breakfast just because the conversation and people were too fun to leave. One morning when it was raining, they just got out champagne and orange juice and everyone chatted over mimosas until it stopped raining. Breakfast itself was always delicious and plenty to keep you going until lunch, but not so huge that you weren’t hungry by the time lunch rolled around.
If you’re planning a trip to New Orleans, I would absolutely recommend staying at the Jazz Quarters.

Sherri and Ron and Alan and I spent 6 nights here. Alan found it on TripAdvisor. It’s an historic place located in the Tremé district, less than a block from N. Rampart Street, which forms the dividing line between Tremé and the French Quarter. The B&B is comprised of 9 cottages that were formerly part of the Tremé Plantation. They are all unique and collectively could hold 33 guests. All the cottages are named for local jazz musicians. We stayed in Fountain, named for Pete and Sherri and Ron stayed across the way in Kermit, named for Ruffins. The cottages are furnished w/​antiques or antique reproductions. Some cottages have front porches and others have courtyards or patios where guests can sit and relax. The entire complex is surrounded by high fences. A mechanical gate opens w/​a remote to allow cars to enter and exit and a pedestrian gate opens w/​a key.
As I have mentioned in previous reviews, our innkeepers, Vincent and Lola, are a wealth of information. They are also charming and warm. Brenna, who works breakfast is capable and lovely. She looked after us terrifically well. Breakfasts began w/​something invented by one of the owners, breakfast couscous. It was excellent, mixed w/​raisins or cranberries and nuts. The first day there seemed to be citrus in the background. It differed a little from day to day and could be topped w/​yogurt or honey or both. We got the recipe. Mains varied and were sweet or savory and were tasty, cooked to order. The breakfast area is called Garland’s in homage to the previous owners of the B&B. There’s a table on the covered patio and a large and smaller table indoors. Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10:00.
The patios were tree shaded and green. Smoking was allowed there, but we never felt intruded on by smoke. By our cottage was a huge magnolia grandiflora, unfortunately not in bloom, and other, smaller trees and lower growing vegetation. Comfortable patio tables, chairs and benches were placed in various parts of the garden. There was even a hanging wooden swing. Temperatures were in the low 80s and the patios were lovely places to sit and read or to visit w/​each other or other guests.
Our room was comfortable and well lighted. Reading light is often an issue in B&Bs, but it was definitely good here. My favorite lights, though, were more beautiful than functional, the gorgeous stained glass wall sconces in our bedroom. Adjacent to the bedroom was a little living room w/​a cool twin sleigh bed w/​a mass of throw pillows which served as a couch. It was ideal for Alan to stretch out and read. There was a desk to set up the computer and there is free wifi. We had the usual trouble getting online, but once Alan uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter (I have no idea what that is, I merely report) we were online w/​no problem. There was a closet w/​a little refrigerator and coffee and tea fixings at the end of the couch.
I would have liked to have more drawers for storage space for folded clothes. In the bedroom, aside from a gorgeous armoire w/​a large and useful drawer at the bottom and the bedside tables w/​one small drawer apiece, there was a small desk w/​drawers. Though it was a nice piece, a small chest of drawers would be more functional for people staying more than a couple of nights. The bed was on the high side, though not as high as Sherri and Ron’s, which required a step stool to get in and out, and exquisitely comfortable.
The bathroom was small, but not impossibly so. It had a pedestal sink that could more firmly anchored to the wall, as the top seemed a little tippy. The towels, toilet paper and facial tissue were all of excellent quality. There is a sign in the bathroom encouraging guests to hang up towels if they wanted to reuse them and the cleaning staff actually followed through w/​this, which often they haven’t elsewhere we’ve stayed. There were hooks for hanging up towels. I would have liked a towel ring or two beside the sink for face towels and wash cloths, but managed just fine w/​o. I didn’t like the shower. I don’t like most showers, being a bath person by temperament, but the shower head was very high and seemed old. It would be better to have one of those removable shower heads which allow more flexibility and better coverage.
It was quiet and peaceful. Though we had unintentionally reserved for the week that included St. Patrick’s Day, there was no noticeable noise to disturb us Saturday night, despite students in town for spring break and the usual St. Paddy’s Day celebrants. Vincent and Lola were excellent hosts, good at problem solving. When Alan asked where he could do laundry, Vincent offered to have it done there, which we very much appreciated. The four of us enjoyed our stay and would stay here again when we return to New Orleans.

My son and I loved this B&B it is walking distance from many attractions. Very clean and comfortable we will be back!

The Jazz Quarters was an amazing experience for my boyfriend and I. They are located within walking distance to the major attractions of the French Quarter and the hosts Vincent and Lola gave us some great tips on places to go for dinner and lunch. The breakfasts provided by Vincent were amazing! Upon arrival they gave us a free room upgrade as well. I absolutely cannot recommend your staying here strongly enough!

We always go to New Orleans for New Year’s, but now we have a new place to stay! What a perfect venue. When we weren’t eating or playing in the quarter (just a few steps away from the B&B), we were having our own private party in the beautiful courtyard. It was the perfect place for 4 couples to stay. Great location. So convenient to have on-​site, secure parking. Appreciated having the mini-​fridge, flat screen, WIFI, and coffee maker. Wonderful breakfast. Vincent and Lola were so gracious. Can’t wait to return!
