The Idea Village is a nationally recognized leader in identifying, supporting, and retaining entrepreneurial talent. We develop, design, and creatively execute award-​winning programming by engaging a global network of entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals.

Each year from July — March, The Idea Village Entrepreneur Season offers education, consulting, and capital access programs to support the startup, growth, and scale of New Orleans entrepreneurs. The Season culminates each March with New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW). NOEW 2014 is scheduled March 22 – 28, 2014.

History

Established in 2000.

Thirteen years ago a group of New Orleans entrepreneurs calling themselves The Idea Village asked a very important question: What if?

What a cool concept!
Idea Village strives to identify, support and retain entrepreneurial talent in New Orleans. I am all about my city so I can geaux for that. Idea Village has about 13 employees working for them. They receive alot of grant funding to run the organizaiton.
Their events are really informative. I attended an entrepreneurial pitch session a few days ago and was very impressed with the ideas and the mission behind the idea village. They are looking for ideas that are creative and business ideas that will cultivate the city. Love that!
Their vision is, by the year 2018, the city’s 300th birthday, New Orleans will have a self-​sustaining ecosystem that attracts, supports, and retains entrepreneurial talent. Entrepreneurial season is every March. I attended an event last year that was really eye opening. It was a 30 minute pitch by innolavation and the winner got a monetary reward. If you have a cool idea, check out idea village. You never know, grant funding may be in your future.
