We are a locally owned, locally loved bead store with an ahhhmazing inventory of beads and beading supplies. Come see!

We specialize in jewelry repair, custom orders, wedding jewelry designs and classes. Whether you have a necklace that simply needs a new clasp, or your special pearls need to be re-​knotted, we can take care of it. (Sometimes while you wait)

We do custom work daily, and specialize in making a piece JUST for you. Bring in your evening dress, reunion outfit, a favorite new top, or a Mardi Gras ball dress, we can create a piece for you.

Making your own jewelry is easier than you think. We have a stringing room for you to make your own jewelry anytime. If you’re a beginner just let us know and we will walk you through the easy process to making your own earrings, necklaces or bracelets.

We have a huge variety of group classes available, as well as private classes if you prefer a one on one experience. Check our facebook page or website for current class offerings.

Lovely stop during my recent trip to NOLA. There was a huge selection of any type of bead you could want-​huge selection of seed and crystal, tribal type, pearls, and natural. I was very happy to find tree agate (? I think that was the label). They also have a big selection of charms, metal and carved. So I went home with a couple unique charms-​crawfish and fleur de lis, anchor, and cinnabar bunny. Prices were fair and the layout of the store is pretty intuitive so it’s easy to find things but as always, it’s much more fun to browse. Staff were friendly and checked in enough to be helpful but not overwhelming. Parking might be a bit hard but we were lucky to find street parking right out front. I wish I was located in Louisiana because I’d stop by more often but then again I’d also make a huge dent in my wallet.

Be prepared to lose large amount of time in this store. a HUGE variety of beads, pearls, ready made, and beading supplies. Situated uptown, the inviting atmosphere certain invites you to stay and browse awhile, which I always do. If you enjoy jewelry making, or want to learn, this is a great place to stop by. They fofer classes as well as pieces already made by their staff. They also do custom pieces for those looking for something unique but not wanting to dive into the process themsleves.

This is another great store that I am lucky to have found while on the wheres waldo mission in July 2015. It is not the least expensive place, but the selection of beads they offer is great and varied. The clerks were very friendly. It is a great local store that has a helpful staff and it seems they offer classes on various options on bead-​working. I can not say how impressive the variety is, this is really a sight to behold.

This is not the cheapest place to get your supplies. The staff is very helpful. I am addicted to their clearance baskets of fresh water cultured pearls. If you have any questions, or want to think through a jewelry idea, these ladies are the ones you want.

I want to fall into the Bead Shop’s rabbit hole. I came in with an idea and one of the associates, Emily, quickly helped me bring it to life. She was enthusiastic, helpful and thorough with her information and tips. The variety in the inventory was amazing and only topped by their superb customer service. I want to live here.

It’s the day after the day after Mardi Gras, and I’m still feeling the withdrawal… but these ladies made my day so much better! This afternoon, I brought a necklace in to be fixed (its chain had broken during said Mardi Gras). I had certain expectations for my visit: a) that I would have to drop the necklace off to be picked up later and b) that it would cost several dollars. Wrong on both counts. They started working on it immediately and didn’t charge me anything. The shop is charming and the staff is efficient and… awesome.

I just recently decided to try out this whole creativity thing everyone seems to be going on about, and The Bead Shop was the first place I went. I was totally dazzled by the selection but wanted to hold off on writing a review until I’d had a chance to compare this shop with other crafty stores.
Well, I’ve been to a few other places now, and The Bead Shop is by far my favorite. The shop manages to feel cozy while still holding a huge selection, and the ladies behind the counter have always been very helpful, even when I have no idea what I’m doing and need lots of advice. They also have a wider array of semi-​precious stones than other places in the area — be sure to check out the back room to ogle the many strands of sparkly awesomeness.
And the clincher: for every $ 100 you spend on beading supplies, you get a $ 10 gift card. Pretty good deal for those of us who have a hard time keeping our purse strings tied.

I have to dissent from the crowd and add my two cents. While this store is great for what they offer… strings of semi precious stones, Czech glass beads and charms & pendants galore… their stock of seed beads is almost non existent. If you like stringing jewelry, then this is the place for you. But if you’re into bead weaving with seed beads, you won’t find much here. They do have a small selection of size 8 & 10 seed beads for the Mardi Gras Indian beaders, it was explained to me, but carry only a few colors. Their selection of Delicas and size 15 Miyukis… well, I have much more in my stock at home. On the other hand, the selection of charms, stones and larger beads here is very good… hence the «A-​OK» rating. If you live here and need seed beads, I guess you buy them on line.

FANTASTIC selection of beads from all over the world! Its like a candy store in there! The girls were extremely helpful and on the ball, even though it was a super busy day. Patiently helped both me and my partner with the more technical parts of making different necklaces, even though his was a little complicated and it was his first time. It’s a great place to create an unforgettable, high-​quality, handmade gift.
Hands down, my favourite bead shop across the States! Too bad I’m on vacation. I wish The Bead Shop was in my neck of the woods.

This charming little bead house is packed full of everything anyone could possibly need for beading, wire wrapping, etc. etc. There are four rooms to explore, a vast price range, discounts to repeat customers, and workshops. There’s even a place to sit & create your jewelry. This place sparks my creativity as soon as I walk in. I love it!

As many of you know, I have my own shop on Magazine, not far from this cute shop.
I feel very fortunate to have them so near by because of two reasons:
1– I recommend my own customers to shop here if they are looking to make something themselves. Often times I have had customers that come to me to pick out a charm or large pendant and they come here to make a necklace out of it. I think that’s a great way to customize something for yourself.
2. In case of an emergency. I bead a lot of my own jewelry, but I concentrate on pearls. I’m pretty sure they have a selection of pearls here, I could have sworn I saw some. But the point is, that if I ever run out of my own beads, or if I need something, they are there!
I know they offer jewelry classes and are very helpful when it comes to making jewelry or repairs. From what I’ve seen, there is a lot of inventory. they certainly utilize ALL of the space they can. Their staff is also very friendly and helpful.
I’m sure that if there’s something they can’t fix, they would know whom. Usually, if there’s something I can’t fix for someone, I send them here.
Overall, even if you’re not a jewelry fanatic I would still suggest that you stop by. You’ll never know what you can find and you can recommend this place to someone else. BUT if you are a jewelry fanatic, as in you like making your own jewelry and you like pretty shiny object, make sure you have a good hour or so to spare. You will go BANANAS!

The Bead Shop is fantastic! I recently worked with Sarah to create several unique pieces for my wedding jewelry, including a necklace, bracelet, earrings, and a hair comb. I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted — no pictures even — and after asking me a few simple questions, she guided me to design jewelry that was exactly to my tastes and looked stunning. Plus, I saved a bundle! Later, when I asked if they could make some earrings (gifts) with the extra beads, they were more than happy to help. They even saved me with some last-​minute orders! Despite my forgetfulness, their quick work ensured that no one needed to be excluded. Thanks girls! You guys are the best! For anyone looking for a unique addition to any outfit, I would totally recommend the Bead Shop.

Everywhere I travel I do two things:
1. I send home something edible to my family that is indicative of the region.
2. I make a necklace or get jewelry to remind me of the trip.
I came out of this place at least an hour after I had entered with enough stuff for 4 necklaces. The staff is great and the prices are reasonable. They teach classes on everything here, and I am so sad to be no where near to take them.

Oh my goodness the Bead Shop is such a great store!
Having been to many a bead store outside of the city I was really surprised by the large selection offered here. There’s basically every kind of bead you could possibly want to buy– in sections such as wooden, gemstones, metal, etc. There’s even supplies like scissors and books on arts&crafts and beading.
The staff was helpful and even put the necklace that i wanted to make together for me. There’s even a bead stringing room where you can make what you want and ask for help if you get a little off track. The prices seem pretty reasonable and there’s really nothing I could complain about!
I will definitely be coming here all the time to make my own jewelry.

Yeah, so I f* with crafts sometimes. I walked in to buy some clasps, and though I was not looking for beads, I could tell they sure had enough of them. Staff was friendly, which is a lot to say because I did get publicly berated by an old lady for not holding the door for her. I didn’t know was ready to leave. Everyone looked at me in horror like I spit at her.
