T & L Tailor

I came here last minute for a Mardi Gras ball and the owner was kind enough to make the alterations in just a couple days. I also found the pricing for a «rush» job extremely reasonable. I’ll be back!

I think I’ve found my go to tailor. After reading all the reviews, I made the long drive from Belle Chasse to T&L Tailors. So glad I did because the reviews were very true. Thanks guys! Being only 5’1″ I have to get pretty much everything tailored. I brought in 3 Jumpsuits to get hemmed and she did a wonderful job. She was very sweet and professional, marking with chalk and pinning where needed. She’s a cash only business, so make sure you bring cash!

The lady who runs the shop is very professional and talented. She took my 4 dresses to be altered and did them in half the expected time. The job she did was excellent. The prices were very reasonable. I have used a couple places Uptown prior, and had poor service, long wait times, things not ready when they said they would be, dresses only half completed upon pick-​up, so this was an incredibly lovely experience to have.

Came here to get a Mac Duggal gown tailored. Thankfully it fit me like a glove, but it needed a lot of length cut off. I am a costume maker myself but the gown was going to be too difficult to me so I can here and even the seamstress said it would be «difficult» and boy was it!!! Took two fittings, but she got it almost perfect!!! It’s just a little shorter at my toes than id have liked it to be but considering how obnoxiously hard the dress was it’s a given that it’d either be a little short or a little long. To get a ton of silk and lace cut off the gown it was only 75 which since the gorges in the dress are about 5 feet wide each!!! Each of them, about 5 – 6 feet wide and there’s 8 gorges… 75 was a pretty alright price! Were I her I would have easily charged more just for the with of the skirt.
It’s a beautiful mermaid gown, with loads of detailed beading all over it. To say I was Nervous to leave such an expensive, and detailed gown in the hands of a stranger would be an understatement. I even texted my boyfriend in a panic worried about how she would care for the beading during the alterations. Once the final fitting was over and I was taking her home, I examined the beading in the fitting room and was so relieved to see that none of the beads were knocked loose or even knocked off!!! Everything is as it was!!!
Prom is tomorrow night, and I am so confident in how the dress is going to look!!! It’s beautiful, and sure to be a fabulous night.

I love TL Tailor so much! I think their seamstress is the best that you will ever find anywhere, at least in a 50mi radius and will only trust all my alterations to her. Believe me when I say you will be happy with the results. There has not once been a disappointment. She also does dry-​cleaning, a convenience!

T & L Tailor and Dry Cleaning, and its ever-​sweet and exceptionally skilled owner, Thuan, is hands down the best tailor in the New Orleans metro area. I’ve lived in large fashion-​forward cities and trusted my clothes to many tailors and seamstresses, and I’ve never had as good of results as what I get at T & L. Thuan is meticulous and a master at needlework. She is also friendly, attentive and accommodating. (She is open until 6pm on weekdays and on Saturdays from 8a — 3p). The shop is on General DeGaulle — the first exit onto the West Bank — and a short 10-​minute drive from downtown New Orleans.

My Dad has been going here for four years so when I came back home and needed some dresses and suits hemmed this was my go to spot! I’m terrible with names but the owner is a really sweet Vietnamese lady who takes her time in measuring me for alterations. I have trusted evening gowns, Calvin Klein suits etc. with her and she never let me down.
She has a three way mirror and a little platform she asks you to stand on so she can measure you. I recommend bringing the shoes that you plan on wearing with the outfit too to get an accurate fitting.
Once your item is ready the you can try it on. She does a great job and is always so pleasant! Even though I live in mid-​city i still drive over to the Westbank for her to alter my stuff. Her prices are reasonable too.
There is plenty of Parking and she is located in the strip mall with the big clock off general de gualle with the big Krav Maga banner. She’s on the first floor. Happy alterations! Oh she so does dry cleaning too!
