Sno-La Snowball Lounge

I took the fam to this spot while visiting New Orleans. It wasn’t easy to find, but it was a pleasant surprise. Very tasty and my kids loved it. Will visit next time I’m back in NOLA! Love this place.

I freaking love this place! I mean they have cheesecake inside of sno-​balls. What more can you ask for? What more do you need?!
The staff here is super patient, more patient than I would be; which is awesome! They have helpful suggestions and everyone that I have spoken to here had tried everything so they can give you their honest opinion, which is always helpful when you have a hard time deciding what you want.
Great flavors, great taste, great atmosphere, great staff!

Now this place puts a twist on Snow Balls. CreamCheese in a Snowball What a great idea and the mix of flavors is awesome! Everytime I fly into New Orleans I make sure I stop here and get me one of there concoctions that are always perfectly made and tasty. Wish I could post some specific flavors but I get the Bananas Foster Everytime.

Amazing. This was our second visit and we’ve loved almost every flavor we have tried. Kev’s fav and key lime pie top my list for sure. Tiffany’s blue box is also very good. A tiny bit pricey compared to other snowball stands but when you consider what you’re getting its worth it.

Fantastic snowballs with custom flavors that you’ll be comparing to any snowball you get anywhere else! The only reason they’re missing a star is because the hours have changed. Hours are Wednesday-​Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00pm. These hours were not decided upon with the customer in mind, but hey, who’s getting a snowball before 12 anyway?

Just had the BOMB snoball. I had the Bananas Foster & it was delicious! Must try them if you’re ever in the area. Jennifer was great too. She’s who took out order & made our snoballs.

They have amazing flavors, each snowball is made with extreme care, the ice is softer than anything you’ve ever had (yes better than Pandora’s Snowballs), and the BEST part is you can get CHEESECAKE in the middle of your snowball if you want it which is delicious!
I live about 30 minutes out from this place but every single time I go it is DEFINITELY worth the drive.
I’m a plain guy but I personally recommend the Ice Cream CREAM with Wedding Cake CREAM. Pure bliss.

It’s a great idea to integrate cheesecake. The peanut butter cheesecake works particularly well.

This is a nice little indoor snowball spot where you can sit and eat at a table if you want. They specialize in stuffing their snowballs with cheesecake here and have come up with some really interesting combinations. They use a Snowizard machine so the ice isn’t quite as fine as Hansen’s but the cheesecake addition and the creative flavoring twists make this a worthy place to grab a treat at.

This place could be seriously addictive and it’s more expensive than Starbucks. After seeing a few Unilocal buddies check in I bookmarked this place as a must try next visit.
I did not know what to order and I had no idea that placing an order and receiving the order would take as long as it did, but it was worth the wait.
If you are a fan of the the Berry Chantilly Cake at Whole Foods or any other store in the area, the Chantilly cake snoball is a must try! The concept of cheesecake, fresh strawberries, fresh blueberries AND condensed milk in a snoball is simply ingenious. It was very rich but absolutely wonderful.

Are you for real right now?!? Snowballs shmoballs… these aren’t your every day ice in a cup with some syrup snowballs… these are magnificent, magical, taste bud exploding yummy goodness of a snowball. The ice is perfect, syrup-​on point and CHEESECAKE filled in the middle… what more can you want?! Flavors like chantilly lace with blueberries and strawberries mixed in, peanut butter, chocolate, King cake, peanut butter cheesecake and so much more. I will be requesting this pretty often from now on for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The employees are super friendly and very helpful. Please try this little air conditioned gem of a snowball stand out. You won’t be disappointed!

This place is amazzzingggg. I’ve been wanting to try to chantilly cake snowball and it was delicious! You can get it with either condense milk or whipped cream. I have a pretty sweet tooth so I got the condensed milk. In the middle of cup is a scoop of ice cream! Yummmm! The service was great. The décor is pretty plain jane in there. It’s a small hole in the wall place in Metairie. I prefer to come here rather than hansens! Yes I can’t believe I just said that. There is a place for you to sit inside with a/​c and the line isn’t always ridiculously long. Plus they have other speciality snowball flavors I am dying to come back and try! Next flavor on the list is the banana foster!

I only reserve five stars for the best and Sno-​la definitely earns them! Friendly, fast service, affordable, tons of flavor options and of course — perfect soft ice!
Every time I visit New Orleans, I make a point to stop. It’s a bit tricky to get to, but worth the navigating. You can’t beat an indoor, air conditioned snowball shop. If I’m not mistaken, they may even be open year round. Also, there is comfy seating, so no need to get anxious if it rains.
There are so many creative flavor combinations (praline, bananas foster, grooms cake, Tiffany blue box, etc) but also traditional options. My favorite is the red velvet cake, but candy apple is also a good yummy change in the norm. If you are truly feeling like dessert, get it stuffed with the cheesecake.
I love this spot and what’s even better is not having to wait in a super long line for awesome quality and flavor. Keep up the good work Sno-​la!
Ps. You can’t beat the checkin offer for free condensed milk (my fav!).

We finally made it over to Sno-​La and it was WORTH IT. The cheesecake stuffed snoball blows the regular ice cream stuffed snoball out of the water! Absolutely delicious and worth the drive into Metairie. The parking lot is a tad tricky for parking, but you won’t be sorry :)

The sno-​ball is a 5! Don’t debate that part; just go try anything on the menu and ENJOY! You cannot go wrong at Sno-​la.
The reason for the 4 stars is that the place is a solid 2. It’s just not a place I want to eat a sno-​ball at, given it’s a lounge and not a stand. The walls are bare, the layout is weird, the place is dirty, and the restroom is a small step above a port-​o-​potty. The location is a real PITA to get to and parking is minimal (however, we did go at dinner time when the gumbo shop next door may have helped fill the lot). I will not let all of that stop me from going, but I do wish it were cleaner and more easily accessed, so I could come EVEN MORE because the sno-​balls here are honestly the best in Metairie. Maybe just get one and leave… :/

Each time I’ve been back, it just gets better and better. I love the Tiffany’s Blue Box. Get the cheesecake in your snowball. I don’t care if it’s two thousand calories… Just do it! It’s worth it!

Can we say WoW?!? Okay, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way… This place is not your typical snow ball stand, its a lounge. This snow ball lounge has a tables and chairs for indoor eating as well as waiting area.
The menu is extensive and creative. I knew I had to have their signature cheesecake stuffed snow ball (sno-​ball). After about 5 minutes of narrowing it down I decided to go with the Praline Paradise. Its a praline flavored snow ball stuffed with cheesecake and kissed with condensed milk. We also ordered a Granny Smith Apple snow ball.
The ice was soft and fluffy, with tons of juice. No dry snow balls here! The cheesecake was soft and creamy like ice cream. Definitely the best of the best!
The staff was friendly. They were wearing chef’s coats. That’s some serious snow ball making! All in all I had a great experience here. I’ll be back.

One of the things I was instructed to try once the weather started to get a little warmed was «Sno-​Balls» in New Orleans.
I’ve been on the hunt since I got here and I’ve finally been able to try it. The snow balls here are REALLY good! I’m a pretty traditional kind of guy so I just ordered cherry with sweetened condensed milk. It was awesome! Their snow is extremely fine and it holds the syrup perfectly like a slushy. What makes this place so great is the awesome service! The workers were are really really nice and spend the time to explain which flavors they really like best and have honest recommendations.
I’ll definitely be back especially when summer comes around.

A MUST have. As others had mentioned, the only place that have cheesecake in the center of the snoball!
I got the snola favorite which was red velvet flavored and a friend got the fat tuesday which was king cake flavored both with cheesecake in the center. I was surprised at how close the flavor of the snoballs were. Definitely would love to come back.
I had a tough time deciding between the SnoLa Favorite and Daryl’s Delight and the staff gave me a small sample of the Daryl’s Delight after I got the favorite! Great customer service.
The location is a bit obscure but is still charming and gives some characteristics.

Going on 3 years now my family and I have frequently visited this establishment and have yet to be disappointed. The owners of Snola are very welcoming and warm people. The customer service is top notch. The product itself is fun & whimsical. Its definitely not your run of the mill snoball. This is a family oriented business that supports the community, please give it a try. You will not regret it!

What is better than a snowball? A snowball in December indoors! I think I just had the best snowball in my life. I lied. I think I just had the best three snowballs in my life.
A great snowball is created from four major elements: The proper ice temperature, the flavor quality (sugar/​acid, syrup), syrup distribution and of course the hand operating the machine. Sno-​La has managed to achieve all of the above simultaneously and consistently.
I tried chocolate with evaporated milk, spearmint with condensed milk, and cherry. All flavors were well balanced and full flavored (ever had one that tasted like colored sweet water?). The fellow operating the Sno-​Wizards name should be Harry Potter. The ice was so so smooth. Not even one crunch.
This shop is tucked away below a billboard sign on South Causeway on the right just before the I-​10 overpass and has lots of parking. The place is very spacious and has about 8 tables and a waiting bench. Now you can have a snowball inside and not have it melt away in the summer heat!
These are seriously good snowballs folks. They also have cheesecake stuffed snowballs. Gonna try one of those next time. Nice people too. Give them a try!
