With so many casting websites and online marketing, it is imperative that actors have video footage for their demo reel. ‘Cuz we are li-​ving in a di-​gi-​tal world… yes, your actors toolbox should be complete with head shots, a resume, and a demo reel! The catch 22? How do you build a reel if you’ve never worked on a film or TV project? Enter us… Shoot My Reel.

Not only do we write your scripts based on the roles you want to play, we design your sets, professionally shoot you scenes, and edit EVERYTHING. We won’t bore you with amount of planning that goes into shooting your reel. You’ll just have to see for yourself!

History

Established in 2014.

Shoot My Reel came to life after many months of strategic planning by the SMR team. We wanted to provide an affordable service that allowed actors to build their video footage library in order to market themselves better on various casting sites. Several of our team members are also actors, and we understand how difficult it can be to obtain footage, either because the projects an actor has done are not yet complete, or because the actor hasn’t been hired yet. We wanted to put our talents, skills and abilities together so that an actor can show theirs off!

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Originally from Paramount, California, Vanessa graduated from Chapman University with a BA in Communications. Shortly after, she began a dance company in San Diego, and built a student-​base of 300. Vanessa then lived in Spain for 3 years, after which she moved to Nola in ’06. She quickly realized that New Orleans was a Film/​TV hub, and decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a professional actress. Since then, Vanessa, a member of SAG-​AFTRA, has built her acting resume, and recently produced a web-​series, and two short films.

In early ’14, Vanessa put together an amazing team of professionals to provide a service that created video footage for actors. After months of planning, Shoot My Reel was born, with a goal to create original content for actors in need of demo reel footage for marketing themselves to casting companies. An actress first, she knows first-​hand how difficult it can be to break in to the film industry. She hopes to assist actors on their journey to success!
