Thanks to our hosts at Salon by Sucre for hosting us for a happy hour in the Quarter. My +1 and I arrived 20 minutes late and missed the bulk of the tastings so we didn’t try the drinks, either. We did enjoy the balcony and the extensive, extensive presentation from the staff about the Salon by Sucre concept. This is a beautiful space, and I’m grateful for the private introduction to it! Thanks, my loves. Accessibility notes: none for the event.

Friends in California wanted the full scoop on this event. As a longtime fan of Sucre and what they have to offer, my love continues. This time I brought a lover of baking, cakes and goodies with me as my plus one. We arrived early enough to enjoy a scoop of gelato and grab macaroons to go. We then ventured upstairs. Wow!!! Gorgeous! intimate… did I say Wow! The small bites were presented beautifully and satisfied the palate. The choice of wines and specialty cocktail, superb. Discussion of concept, wonderful. The fun review game we played. It was a dynamic event and I enjoyed it immensely. I really enjoyed the roasted squash. Such a simply food, with great flavor and presentation. I think I’m really kinda of speechless about it all. It was definitely my kinda place and I can’t wait to return and dine. Perhaps starting with the high tea. Thanks to Melissa J. for her help in introducing us to this venue and to Morgan for organizing such a lovely time… maybe just one more macaroon for the road…

What a treat! I loved the atmosphere, it was so clean and sophisticated. They were gracious enough for us to try a few of their appetizers and to come speak to us about how they opened, etc. It was fascinating to hear about the hard work and effort they put into the design and menu. We were able to access their balcony as well, which is always fun to overlook the busy city streets underneath. This would be a nice place to take a date for quiet intimate dinner. I’m so glad Unilocal afforded me the opportunity to sample their delicious craft cocktails and small bites. It was an enjoyable time for everyone in my company for sure.

Sadly, I arrived an hour late so all the food was gone… So I can say there were yummy cocktails and a BEAUTIFUL space and awesome friends. My last real memories of this space were from when it was Melius’s…maybe 80s into 90s? I cannot believe it’s the same building. So beautiful and light and airy. The staff was lovely and didn’t even fuss at me when I chose to stand in the wine cooler for a few minutes(a day without AC makes you do desperate things). And those banquets in the Salon portion are ridiculously comfortable. I’m sad that I missed the food but glad I made it out of my boiling house to enjoy some goodtimes with friends. Thanks Morgan & Melissa!

This was a great little Elite event! Definitely the smallest Elite I have been to. It was nice that Morgan kept it so intimate. Salon was a very cool venue with a modern, open feel. The balcony was nice, but it was a little too hot to comfortably hang outside on this day. But inside we were kept cool with some Cathead vodka drinks and sparkling wine. The light bites were interesting and delicious. Never had a fried olive before. Yum! And while I don’t often partake in raw meat, the beef tar tar really was the star of the show. It was cool to hear from the folks that run the show at Salon also. I hope to be back for a full meal before too long. Thanks for setting this up, Morgan! Fun to chat with some other Elites too.

Oh My Goodness! This event was the perfect way to make my manic Monday way less manic and way more magnificent. I was eager to try the new Salon by Sucre so I was stoked when Morgan graciously granted me access. I really dig the vibe of this place. Its very minimal and airy which I like. The light bites were all yummy and the perfect sample size to be able to try a little of everything. My favorite thing I consumed was the mixed drink(figures) vodka + ginger + mint = happy me! The GM of Salon talked to us a little about their concept and menu and she spoke with passion and vigor. In a nutshell, their goal is to serve beautiful food that is also delicious. Based on the food I sampled I would say that mission has been accomplished. The icebreaker game that Morgan facilitated was really fun and a great way for Unilocalers to mingle. Thanks for another great event!

Wow, what an event! Morgan F. Melissa J. Y’all formed like voltron on this party. The small bites: Steak tar tar crostinis. Strawberry shortcake bites. Peach and Apple pannacotta. Squash crudite. All sexy. Red wine, champagne and cocktails. I drank them all. And even a saz or two. Also gave some Unilocalers a secret kitchen tour. Salon is swanky and officially here to stay. I will be back for the table side dinner service.
