Experience: I received a blowout with hair cut on hair that is 12 weeks post relaxer.
Ms. Turcuit knows her way around the rollers, irons, and scissors. I was very pleased with my cut and style. I kept an eye on the clients she styled before it was my turn in the hot seat, i found her to be very consistent with her styling.
1 star removed for the thick application of edge control product she used on my hair, since i’m not used to the product it felt/​looked a tad greasy (but it laid down my edges).
I would certainly recommend to a friend especially my naturalistas

My stylist was not experienced with natural hair. She encouraged me to get a relaxer stating it would «look better» for the style I desired. I only wanted a hair cut and color. I did not get the relaxer and she seemed bothered by my option. I would never return to this salon.

The place has a very upscale look. The ladies whom was getting blowouts seem very pleased with their hair.

I got one of my worst haircuts ever at this place. The stylist developed an attitude after I told her to skip the highlights I had also scheduled. And I did that, because after I got there, I found out she didn’t know how to do them — even after several questions to one of the other stylists, she didn’t seem at all sure what to do. The lousy haircut I got was the result of her attitude over that. I won’t return in spite of it being the trendy place to go in New Orleans.

This salon met my expectations and more! Best salon I’ve been to! I went in with ideas and my hair dresser Morgan filled and completed them for me! They made me and my baby feel comfortable and welcomed! Thank you!!! Sooo much Ringlettes Salon! One word to describe this salon AWESOME!

Checked out the walk in special & it was a winner! Although they were busy, I was seated fast and Hannah began the process of making me beautiful. I scored a fancy hairstyle + a trim in less than 2 hours. Definitely pleased and will be back soon!

I LOVE this place!!! I started going in 2011 when I had longer hair. Although I took a break and tired other places I ended up back at Ringletts. No place has ever taken better care of my hair!!! You get the feel of a upscale New York salon brought down to the south. Everyone is always so nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to any lady.

Was happy to get an appointment for my granddaughter while I was in town. We were told when we got there we’d have to wait 45 min. 2 + hours later we still had not been taken and we finally left without anything being done. The hair I saw done was lovely, but they do REALLY bad business. We will never go back! I’d leave 0 stars if I could.

You didn’t mention a family emergency when we spoke. It was the holiday weekend and you only said you were going out of town but all is well. After sharing the experience with another stylist (not at your salon but clearly someone who knew you) she said you’d posted pics on your Instagram page of you kicked back on a beach so I’m good. As I mentioned, the stylist was professional but it’s just a shame my experience with her was tainted.

I went there last Saturday. I had a 9am appointment and did not leave until 1145am. I was not pleased at all. There was a woman who was a new client as well that had an 8am appointment and was not serviced until after I was at the shampoo bowl. Now I am used to at least 3 shampoos instead of 2 a quick conditioner. Why put conditioner on the hair just to rinse it out 15 seconds later? My trim was more than a trim more like a cut. My scalp was still dirty that it was still itching in the chair and when I left there was product on my scalp. Needless to say I went home to rewash my hair that I paid $ 45 for. The stylist and I spoke and I told her I just to go to Dominican salons. She then said they used too much heat. Well I went under the dryer with rollers, she blow dried my hair and flat iron. Doesnt that sound like a lot of heat too? I think this place is overrated. I will continue to do my own hair and go to the hair school for a trim at least it wont cost that much with a long wait.

Love my hair! Because I’m new to the area, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to find a salon. Not only did I find one, I found one of the best! My fiancé can’t stop staring at me :) Lol! Thanks Jahra!

Slander is defined as the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person’s reputation. With that said, I deal in facts. The direct quotes in this review stem from actual clients that I know and have directly texted and/​or spoken with. I was a client of Ringletts for 9 months & for the for the first 4 – 5, they provided a good experience. They are not a customer focused salon so don’t expect to be offered coffee/​tea/​water. Don’t expect overt friendliness (with 1 exception). They deal in volume scheduling. With that said, the experience was pleasant enough to deal w/​the other issues. Those other issues included inappropriate dialogue about personal lives (Direct written quote: «Weave specialist [name redacted] had my baby in there for a few hours discussing things that she shouldn’t be exposed to while finishing head that came in after her.» The music is so loud at times that you can’t hear yourself think. The shop, overall is dirty. Hairballs/​dustbunnies are everywhere. On one visit, a giant roach skittered across the floor as I was under the dryer. No matter b/​c the services provided were fine. I just looked at the other reviews and feel better because my experience isn’t limited to just me. My stylist cancelled on me twice via email with one cancellation happening as I was on the way to the shop because she drank too much the night before and was hung over. She attempted to move my appointment on the same day on 2 other occasions because she had other things scheduled. I accommodated my stylist by scheduling my appointments on her «slow days» of Tuesday or Wednesday so that I wouldn’t be in the shop for 4 hours for a simple wash and style. Unfortunately that didn’t work either. In spite of the scheduling issues, the lack of professionalism (Direct written quote by former client: «I don’t really care for any of them in there mainly b/​c they are messy as hell but also because I don’t think they do hair well. I’ve tried 3 different stylists and was disappointed every time.»), the condition of the salon, my stylist did a relatively good job so I dealt with it. What tipped the scale was when I dropped my 6 year old off for a wash and style. Her appointment was scheduled for 12:30p & was made 2 weeks prior. I dropped her off at 12:20p and asked the stylist how long it would be. She replied, «Not long at all.». I proceeded to run errands & called the shop at 2:45p to inquire about progress. I was told that my daughter would be done in 15 minutes. This is 2.5 hours after I dropped her off. When I arrived 10 minutes later, my daughter was still waiting to be styled. The person that was being styled had a appointment AFTER my daughters but was taken ahead of her. What I also discovered is someone other than my stylist washed & blow dried my daughter’s hair. At that point, we were running late for our next appointment so my stylist offered to put my daughter’s hair in a bun which is not what I was paying for or what she waited almost 3 hours for so we were stuck waiting. After my daughter’s hair was done, it smelled burnt for almost 2 weeks. She has natural spiral curls. Once we washed her hair, approximately 1.5 inches of her ends were bone straight due to something that my stylist or the other random person that washed her hair did. I had to cut the 1.5 inches off because it did not return to it’s natural curl pattern. I vented on social media & eventually reached out to the owner of the salon. She offered to take a look at/​do my daughter’s hair at no charge. I scheduled the appointment. In the meantime, on my last visit there on a Tuesday morning at 8:30am, my stylist was late. She called to let me know that she was stuck in traffic & didn’t know how long she would be. As I was talking to her 4 other stylists arrived. At least 2 of them came from the same area but managed to make it to work on time. The stylist asked if I wanted to wait. I told her that I had to see if I could move some things around & I would call her back to let her know. Her response was, «Well I kinda need to know right now.» I was livid. I ended up staying, getting my hair done & was late for my next appointment which had become the norm when dealing with Ringletts. I vented via social media. Shortly afterward, I recieved a message from the owner stating that she did not feel as if she could meet my expectations w/​regards to repairing the damage that her salon/​stylist caused & cancelled my daughter’s appointment.
I am a stickler for some things. Customer service & respect for my time are 2 of them. Ringletts provided neither. I am now having to pay a new stylist for damage that they caused to my daughter’s hair. The owner will say something like «we attempted to accommodate this client, etc» and that is categorically false. I regret wasting my time and money here. My daughter is sadly paying the price for it. (Tawana Laurent is the exception. Professional and great.)

Ringletts is great! Although they specialize in curly hair, the stylists do a great job with all textures (I have very coarse relaxed hair). The online booking system makes appointment making so easy and the walk in to chair time is usually less than 15 minutes. The shop is modestly decorated and ambient (the Pandora station playing is always perfect). I love that Ringletts offers a professional atmosphere and salon environment, as many hair salons lack this. It’s a little on the pricey side, but the price is clear when you book your service and you really get what you pay for. Plus, the salon is easy to get to from nearly anywhere and there is ample lot parking. Be sure to get on the email list, as they send out walk in offers from time to time.

Had my first, and my last experience at Ringletts salon. I went there because they are a salon that specializes in «curly hair» and I have curly hair. I went in for a color and a dye, that’s where the second star comes in, the color turned out nice. What killed me is the cut. I have long curly hair. I wear it natural, I don’t blow dry, I don’t straighten, I let it air dry. The stylist and I even discussed this.

I told her I wanted the front of my hair to frame my face, you know, where it is different lengths surrounding the face and gradually gets longer. We discussed this and I thought the stylist understood, but apparently she misunderstood because she cut me big thick bangs. She asks me where I wanted the shortest strand to start and I pointed to where, I meant the first strand, not all of it! I was shocked when I looked into the mirror. I can’t comprehend why this woman thought I was asking for bangs. Anyone out there who has curly hair that they wear curly can understand that you don’t cut bangs into curls. It looks idiotic.
The only way I can wear it to look decent is to straighten the bangs. I hate the idea of waking up early every morning to blowdry and straighten my bangs. It is not my style. My only option is to chemically straighten the bangs, which I hate to do, because it already took so much out of it coloring it!
Worst hair cut I have had since the fourth grade when Supercuts gave me a mullet!

I’ve been a client at Ringletts for several years. I was so satisfied with my services that I started bringing my daughter, Jahra has been doing my daughters hair for about 3 years. She has long, natural hair. Jahra does a wonderful job with her hair. She keeps it healthy, and it always looks great. People are always complimenting me on her hair. Jahra takes her time when doing her hair and the style always last.

This is not a curly hair or «naturals» salon. I booked an appointment after watching a news segment with the owner discussing care of naturally curly and coarse hair. She seemed to believe in working with natural hair instead of fighting it. I think they mean working with natural hair once it is chemically relaxed or if it is naturally wavy and a little curly. I could tell that my tight curls were overwhelming and confusing for the stylist, so I asked her multiple times if she was comfortable working with naturally fro-​like hair. She assured me that many of her clients were similar. But when she started pulling out clumps using a small toothed comb on unconditioned hair, I knew she had no clue. Her face was scrunched and confused and the owner just stared at me as if wondering why I even came in.
I just wish she had been honest. I gave her plenty of opportunity to say «no, this is not my area of expertise». I’d prefer to take a few more days to book somewhere else than waste my time, money, energy and weeks on a bad hair cut. I’m sure Jahra is a great stylist with hair she’s comfortable working with. It’s a friendly, clean salon otherwise, with many repeat clients.

Ringletts is called a «curly hair salon» and touts expertise in multicultural hair and I have just that. I have been searching for a salon for years with stylists who could manage my naturally wavy hair. Its pretty thick and i cannot get any chemical straightening treatments. I saw Tawanna Laurent there and she was awesome. I was greated with a smile and she washed my hair thoroughly, combed it out with ease, and rolled it on velcro rollers like a pro! It was so quick and efficient. I felt really comfortable with her and she actually made me feel like my wavy, frizzy hair was a good thing! I loved her and will definitely go back. There were other stylists there. I know someone who also says the owner, Mindy, is good also.
