Specialties
The Pipes and Drums of New Orleans (PD of NO) is a Scottish Great Highland Bagpipes and Drums band. It is a Public Charity as defined in the Internal Revenue Code Section 501©(3).
The PD of NO members are also members of the Kilts of Many Colours (KOMC) Bagpipes and Drums band. So essentially the PD of NO and the KOMC are one bagpipes and drums band.
History
Established in 1972.
The PD of NO was formed in 1972 as part of the Caledonian Society of New Orleans (CSNO). In 1978, the PD of NO split from the CSNO to be a separate entity. After 2005, the PD of NO joined the KOMC to form the metro New Orleans only active bagpipes and drums band.
